Chapter 23: Chapter 23 Where to Stay at Night
After these words were said,
neither Gu Ya nor Su Yunjin spoke again.
The room became eerily quiet all at once.
When the room was full of people, Su Yunjin hadn’t felt this way, but as soon as Mrs. Zhang and the others left, leaving her and Gu Ya face to face, Su Yunjin suddenly felt a wave of awkwardness.
Although she and Gu Ya were husband and wife, even the original owner of her body had spent quite a limited time with him. Through memories, Su Yunjin knew that on their wedding night, when Gu Ya had newly tasted the flesh, his touch was heavy-handed, and he didn’t consider the original owner of this body’s feelings with care.
An inadvertent lack of control had frightened the original soul.
...
The original owner of this body was timid and shy by nature, a maiden who had just gotten married and it was her first time. Gu Ya’s lack of control with his strength during their first time had terrified the original owner of this body so much that she trembled with fear at the sight of him afterward.
Gu Ya, a strong and vigorous man, had tasted the pleasures of the flesh for the first time. While he was just getting a taste for it, his little wife would shrink in fear seeing him, just like a mouse seeing a cat, trembling in her tiny frame.
Seeing the little wife’s frightened appearance, Gu Ya, even if he had wanted to do more to her, just couldn’t bring himself to continue.
Since then, it seemed as if Gu Ya hadn’t shared a room with Su Yunjin.
Gu Ya studied at the school in the town at the foot of the mountain, where there were accommodations. Sometimes, he stayed at the school, but more often, he stayed in the Gu Family’s firewood room.
There was no bed in the firewood room; Gu Ya had constructed a makeshift place barely suitable for sleeping with two planks, hardly even worthy to be called a bed.
The Gu Family’s house was in disrepair, and the firewood room was even draftier, but fortunately for Gu Ya, a robust man with a strong constitution, living in the firewood room wasn’t much of a problem.
It was bearable.
Su Yunjin thought that Gu Ya would still head to the firewood room today, so she said, “I’m going to sleep now!” By saying this, Gu Ya would definitely understand her meaning and would take the initiative to leave the room.
But to her surprise, after Su Yunjin spoke, Gu Ya showed no sign of leaving.
Instead, Gu Ya sat down in her room slowly and calmly. @@novelbin@@
As if he had no intention of leaving the room at all!
Su Yunjin looked at Gu Ya awkwardly, hesitating whether to remind him that this was her room, “Umm, I’m going to sleep now!”
Su Yunjin repeated herself, and how could Gu Ya not understand the hidden meaning in his little wife’s words? But tonight, he didn’t plan to go to the firewood room.
He and his little wife were husband and wife.
They should rightfully share one room.
Gu Ya looked up at Su Yunjin, his gaze firmly fixed on her, his tone somewhat helpless, “Yunjin, this place is also my room!”
Su Yunjin knew full well this place was Gu Ya’s room, but she wasn’t really Su Yunjin. In the modern world, she didn’t even have a boyfriend, and now, without any intermediate steps, she was expected to share a bed with a stranger—she truly felt she couldn’t do it!
“Don’t you sleep in the firewood room every day?” The words suddenly escaped Su Yunjin’s mouth. Gu Ya’s expression stiffened for a moment before he said, “Yunjin, I can’t always stay in the firewood room.”
Su Yunjin swallowed nervously, “Then where do you want to sleep?”
With a piercing gaze, Gu Ya made it clear he intended not to leave today; he planned to stay and sleep in the room with her. Su Yunjin cursed herself for her stupidity—why did she say that out loud?
Wasn’t that just giving Gu Ya the chance to speak up?
What do you think?
