Chapter 28 - 28 The Shrew
Chapter 28: Chapter 28 The Shrew
Mrs. Feng scolded as she charged towards Su Yunjin with her plump body. Yunjin’s eyes narrowed as she kicked a stone towards her, swiftly dodging to the side. All one heard was Mrs. Feng let out a loud “Ah!” as she fell face-first onto the ground.
As luck would have it, Mrs. Feng’s chin struck precisely against the stone that Yunjin had kicked, knocking out one of her teeth. Fuming with shame and rage, Mrs. Feng glared at Yunjin. Before she could spit out her curses, Yunjin stepped forward and warned her, “I’m telling you, if you spout nonsense in front of me again, I’ll beat you every time I see you!”
“You wouldn’t dare!” Mrs. Feng’s shouts were devoid of any dignity, raw and hoarse, her face flushed with anger.
Yunjin smiled coldly, “You think I wouldn’t?”
Without giving Mrs. Feng another glance, Yunjin, carrying her basket and holding her sickle, turned around and left. Knowing that Mrs. Feng would not let it go easily, Yunjin remained vigilant for any movements behind her.
In case Mrs. Feng rushed over again, she would be ready to deal with her in time. @@novelbin@@

Unexpectedly, Mrs. Feng didn’t charge over again. Although Yunjin was curious, she didn’t bother with it too much. It was for the best that Mrs. Feng didn’t follow her, saving her the trouble of handling that shrew.
Unbeknownst to Yunjin, Mrs. Feng didn’t come after her at that moment but, as night fell, she had rounded up her husband and another person to storm into the Gu Family in a fury, claiming that Yunjin had injured her and demanding compensation.
While searching the mountain, Yunjin first found some Houttuynia Cordata, a great discovery. Eating it as a cold dish with rice was exceptionally delicious.
Moreover, Houttuynia Cordata had the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, which was beneficial for the body when consumed.
Squatting down, Yunjin began to pick the Houttuynia Cordata. Worried there wouldn’t be enough for the numerous members of the Gu Family, Yunjin intentionally picked extra.
After collecting about half a basket, Yunjin decided not to pick any more.
As she continued up the mountain, Yunjin found tender green water celery by a small river. Such water celery could be stir-fried or made into a soup.
Likewise, Yunjin picked a large bunch of the water celery, placing the fresh bundles into her basket.
Looking at the basket now filled to the brim with wild vegetables, Yunjin patted her hands with satisfaction, ready to head back. With the water celery and Houttuynia Cordata, the meal for noon would be sufficient.
Just as Yunjin was about to stand up and leave, she noticed the crystal-clear cleanliness of the water in front of her. Yunjin thought to herself that the environment of ancient times was truly splendid. Whether it was the air or the mountain water, both were exceptionally wonderful.
Yunjin squatted down, dipped her hand in the water, and found it not to be cold but rather warm.
Looking up, she saw a large rock beside her, with water continuously flowing from beneath it. Contemplating that the water probably came from a mountain spring, she wondered about the taste of the spring water.
With a thought, Yunjin scooped up a handful to drink.
Sweet and refreshing!
The taste was quite good.
Unable to resist, Yunjin scooped up another handful of water to drink.
After quenching her thirst with a couple of gulps, Yunjin wiped her face and mouth with her sleeve. As she was about to stand, she suddenly caught sight of her reflection in the river. Since her arrival in this era, Yunjin had not known what she looked like!
Curiously examining the reflection in the water, Yunjin discovered that the original body’s owner was rather attractive and bore a five to six out of ten resemblance to her appearance in the modern world—except that her skin here was fairer and of better quality.
What do you think?
