The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1461: Struggling against the Swarm

Grunts, clashes, and the sound of tearing flesh dominated the area.

A fierce three-way battle that bore the future and longevity of the Arcalen House with a rich history.

It was becoming more bloodied by the minute—none of them were refusing to back down.

Even though Rex, Garvain, and Istvan were extremely strong, the Black Rift made sure that they were going to lose in a drawn-out battle. All of their psyches were strained the longer the battle continued—a stark contrast to the Three-faced Leecher.

No matter their stances, battling each other like this would result in their inevitable defeat.

However, all of them were too prideful and stubborn to admit it.

Kaboom!

A violent clash echoed, blasting a monumental shockwave that rends the battlefield.

Rex was thrown away and landed on his feet hard.

His wounds were steaming but the rate of recovery was now slower than before.

I’m starting to run out of stamina, my regeneration is now weakened.

Keeping a strong face, Rex’s eyes narrowed as his inside was stirred—the pain from the Gradual Penalty was killing him inside and at this moment, he was running out of life energy. He already neutralized the poison from Selvaris using the Silent Spores Antidote he obtained from the System.

Initially, he thought that he would be able to catch them off guard but he couldn’t.

He thought at least Istvan would make a mistake, thinking that Rex was poisoned but he was cautious.

Istvan fought as if he expected Rex to be fine with the poison inside him.

Also, the Blood Moon Order skill is running out. I need to take them out as soon as possible.

<Blood Moon Persona: 11 minutes>

Four minutes left before Rex was forced to buy another Blood Moon Order skill from the System.

But he didn’t know if he could with his current power.

In a duel against any of them—Rex was confident that he could beat them but he was now fighting basically four Immortal Spirits while still being at the Ascendant Spirit rank. He has no Spirig Genesis while the other four have developed one.

Clearly, it was an unfair match but he wasn’t doing badly at all.

Across him was the Arcalen House’s forces.

Garvain, Istvan, and even Eiran landed on one side—their armor cracked and their bodies wounded.

All of them were fatigued, their breaths came in ragged gasps, and their eyes were half open because of the heaviness instilled by the Black Rift. Just like Rex, these three also have no other choice—but to end the battle as quickly as possible.

"Didn’t you say that mercenary ate the Silent Spores Extract Poison?" Garvain asked in confusion.

Istvan frowned gravely and turned to Eiran.

It was Eiran who saw Rex eat the poison pill concocted by Selvaris.

"I saw it with my own two eyes, he ate it right in front of me," Eiran defended himself, he was also the same as them—perplexed as to how Rex could still go on with the poison inside of him. "I also couldn’t understand how he’s still moving like this when the antidote could only be used by Lady Selvaris"

Breathing heavily, Garvain turned from Rex to the Three-faced Leecher.

From the impact, it was pushed back hard.

Just the four trenches it made as it tried to stop the momentum confirmed that.

Additionally, the Three-faced Leecher was also wounded with some of its tentacles severed but unlike them, the Black Rift aided in its recovery. It was slow—A Voidal Knight could only attract the attention of the Black Rift so much but it was still troublesome.

"Even if we do kill that mercenary, we wouldn’t be able to kill that monster," Garvain said gravely.

It was clear that they would need to attack the Three-faced Leecher along with Rex to win.

Once that was done, they could finish Rex off, or else only the Three-faced Leecher would survive this.

Glancing back at Rex, Garvain could also tell that he had the same idea in mind.

"Here, these are a healing pill and a valuable mind armor pill" Istvan took out pills and handed them to Garvain and also Eiran. "Selvaris concocted them and with these pills, we should be able to at the very least outlast that mercenary"

"Now we attack that Voidal Knight," Garvain instructed as he reached for the pills.

But then, his eyes widened when he noticed Rex was nowhere to be seen,

Crash!

In the next second, Garvain snapped his head to his back and found Eiran was thrown away and now, standing where he stood was Rex. Both the healing pill and the mind armor pill were in his hand as he cast Garvain and Istvan a smirk, "Nice pills. Don’t mind if I do…"

Before both of them could react, Rex ate the two pills and instantly felt the effect.

His wounds closed up, his stamina recharged, and his mind became clearer.

"Shouldn’t you give something like this to me? I’m stronger, and you need me to defeat that monster"

"Krrk!"

Garvain and Istvan wanted to be made, wanting to rip Rex to shreds but the Three-faced Leecher was already coming from them and as much as they despised Rex—the stake was clear. It’s either kill him right now and die at the hands of the Three-faced Leecher or fight with him to defeat the Three-faced Leecher and then avenge Franklin.

Seeing their expressions twisting but no sign of attacking, Rex smirked and turned to the side.

Swoosh!

Not even wasting a single second, he dashed at the Three-faced Leecher to confront it—while Garvain and Istvan followed from behind soon after. Another clash happened but the Three-faced Leecher was quickly being suppressed.

Under their relentless, focused attacks—it was losing almost instantly.

Individually, it was the strongest but it wasn’t strong enough to confront them all simultaneously.

Not when it wasn’t in full power like at the start of this battle.

Swish!

Rex sliced another tentacle, leaving the Three-faced Leecher with one tentacle left.

He stopped the tentacle from avoiding his attack with the Minor Law of Inevitability and sliced it.

Following that, Garvain wrapped his tail around the Three-faced Leecher’s neck from behind and threw it skyward where Istvan came in and swung his dragon spear powerfully—slamming the Three-faced Leecher into the ground, creating a huge crater.

Realizing that its life was threatened, the Three-faced Leecher’s faces trembled.

And in a sickening twist, all of them turned wrathful.

Roar!!

Pulling nothing back, it pointed forward and commanded its underlings to descend and attack them,

Rex and his temporary allies watched as a hurricane of darkness descended upon them.

Hundreds upon hundreds of black creatures charged straight at them.

Despite only being Voidal Pawns, equal to Ascendant Spirit rank at best, the numbers alone made their chests tighten. It was going to be a drawn-out battle, a battle that they couldn’t afford but had to face regardless.

Just then, however—their attention snapped to the side when they heard a united battle cry.

Seeing that their lords were in trouble, the remaining soldiers ran to support them.

Some of them had already fallen to the Voidal Metamorphosis but they kept running with relentless fervor.

If they were destined to die today then they would die swinging.

Rex and the others prepared themselves and charged, hacking every single creature that descended.

Meanwhile, inside the Dragna Sea.

Despite not having seen the conclusion, Selvaris was already back in the main pavilion, sitting on the seat where Istvan usually sat in the main hall. She traced her finger along the smooth, jade stone as a smile crept to her face.

Based on Istvan, the Narsa House will return to the Arcalen House once again.

No more pretending to be somebody she’s not.

It was over—Garvain’s wrath was over and now she could proudly go back home to where she belonged.

Just then, her tranquility was disturbed when a soldier stepped into the pavilion in a rush.

He was one of the soldiers who escorted her back to safety earlier.

"Lady Selvaris, something is going on inside the Black Rift," the soldier reported, approaching her with rushed steps. "A battle seemed to take place. From the power of the clashes, Lord Istvan and also Lord Garvain along with Eiran might’ve come out and fought a Voidal Knight. I’m not sure…"

"Shouldn’t we also go out there and help?" He added in worry.

Selvaris, on the other hand, waved her hand dismissively.

"If those three are involved, I’m sure the situation will be resolved smoothly," She answered.

Hearing this, the soldier wanted to refute but the look Selvaris gave made him swallow back his words.

"I understand…" He bowed dejectedly and excused himself.

Once he was gone, Selvaris sneered, "That mercenary would die—and with the help of my pills, that Voidal Knight will also be defeated. No need for me to come out and help." She then glanced down at the seat she was on. "Even if something were to go wrong, this seat is a special artifact that have the ability to teleport me away. I’ll be fine"

Back to the battlefield.

Rex was being minced repeatedly from all sides.

His skin was tough enough to endure these Voidal Pawns’ attacks but the damage stacks.

It didn’t take long before the first break on his skin happened and was instantly aimed by them.

As he continued brandishing his claws and killing multiple Voidal Pawns with each swing, he glanced to the side and saw Istvan, Garvain, and Eiran were struggling more than him. Unlike Rex who has the Aegis of Moon Sentinel protecting his behind—they didn’t have anything.

All three of them needed to fend off attacks from their front, back, sides, and above.

Not to mention, all of them including Rex have no area abilities.

Other than exploding their life energy to make room to breathe, their attacks were focused attacks.

None of them were suited to battle a swarm like this.

Eiran was the only one who was faring better with his two chakrams circling around him.

I need to kill that Three-faced Leecher now!

Rex gazed ahead—and caught a glimpse of the Three-faced Leecher. It was badly wounded, and recovering while its minions occupied Rex and the others. It was the perfect time for Rex to land the finishing blow.

Boom!

Channeling the remaining life energy he has onto his legs—he charged forward like a bullet.

He made wide leaps and closed the distance between him and the Three-faced Leecher.

However, when he was about twenty meters away, hundreds of the Voidal Pawns gathered into a black swirling vortex and slammed against Rex. Naturally, Rex tried to push forward for a couple of seconds but he was being slowed down greatly.

Damn it, there’s too much of them!

Even after killing a hundred, and even increasing his level, his stamina was still not enough.

Slowly, Rex was overwhelmed and couldn’t push further.

All he needed to do was cover the last ten meters to reach the wounded Three-faced Leecher but that was almost impossible to do. Soon, Rex was slowly being pushed back as more and more of the Voidal Pawn latched onto him.

I’m exhausted. It’s getting blurry… I’m losing consciousness.

Exhaling roughly, he turned to look at the others and saw them in a similar situation.

None of them were able to reach as far as Rex could.

I’ll have to use it. I’ll have to use the Invincible II item or else I’ll die here.

Just then, as Rex fell to his knees, surrounded by these annoying squid-like creatures, a sudden blast of life energy exploded in the distance. Many of the Voidal Pawns turned their attention toward the source and flew there.

Feeling the pressure lessening by a lot, Rex gazed ahead through a blurry vision.

He couldn’t see what was ahead but the stat windows that appeared in the distance were clear to see.

Seeing this, Rex smiled in relief as he finally got a stroke of good luck.

"Guess the two of you weren’t slacking while I’m here…" Rex muttered weakly.

It was Amanir and Linthia, both of them managed to track him down.
