The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1471 1471: Not Fast Enough

Davina turned stiff at the familiar voice, grazing her ears from behind.

Unconsciously, she clenched both of her fists tightly but seeing people around her, she quickly loosened them and inhaled deeply—attempting her best to submerge her anger in water and control herself.

Putting on her normal—stoic, and cold face, she turned around.

Behind her was a woman who was marked with maturity.

Her striking face and grey eyes were framed by her short, golden-blonde curls.

One look at her and anyone would know she came from a very high-profile house—A silver headband adorned with pearls secured a plume of ivory feathers, while a thin, glided diadem wrapped around her brow, its emerald pendant resting at her forehead.

Down under, her emerald gown, detailed with gold embroidery, hugged her form.

But what made her appearance over the top was the fur-lined stole that draped over her shoulders.

She's the eldest daughter of the Sordan House, Genevieve Var Sordan.

"Greetings, Lady Genevieve," Mira stepped out of the carriage and gave a graceful curtsy.

Despite the Sordan House's head not being anywhere near Davina's noble rank, a Baron, the people of the Ravencort House gave her almost the same respect—as they gave to Davina. Such a disturbing sight was angering for Davina but the worst part, she couldn't do or say anything.

Ignoring Genevieve, Davina walked past her and headed inside.

Gaining nothing but a cold shoulder, Genevieve quickly chased after Davina.

"What are you doing here? I don't recall asking you to be here," Davina said with an icy tone.

Upon hearing this, Genevieve smiled acutely, "Isn't it about time you drop this childish act? Out of your siblings, you're the only one who still wouldn't accept the situation. Don't you think you're being really unfair to Duke Lorcan? It's been fifty years"

Davina remained silent as she reached the House of Ravens' main door.

Instead of going inside, she stopped and bit her lower lip.

Glancing at Genevieve, it was clear that she wouldn't leave—not until she said her piece.

"Mira…" Davina turned towards Mira who was also following them. "Is there a place for a talk?"

A few minutes later.

Davina and Genevieve were now sat across each other in a tea house—the beautiful and colorful garden of the House of Ravens surrounded them. Many of the flowers and plants here are magical, transforming the air into a magical air that is refreshing to inhale.

But the beautiful garden was a stark contrast to the conversation they were going to have.

"I understand you don't want to see me so I'll make this brief," Genevieve started—not even touching the served tea on the table. "Prince Calveric and Prince Hanif, both your brothers fell in battle against a new Voidal Monarch. Your older sister, Princess Liliana couldn't have a child. Your younger sister, Princess Tatiana was imprisoned because of her crime. And your youngest sister still has a shaky footing in the household"

"Your position is very bad. How long do you think Duke Lorcan will let this go?" She continued.

Hearing this sparked no reaction from Davina but she was a mess inside.

She knew that she couldn't keep this up.

"As long as I want to," Davina answered shortly, showing no weakness to Genevieve.

Genevieve remained silent, letting Davina's words hang in the air, making sure that Davina could really feel how stupid those words were, "The Duke wanted an heir after your brothers' deaths and his condition is well-known by now, you're the only person who could give birth to a successor. You need to choose your husband or he will choose for you"

"Did you come all the way here to tell me what I already know?" Davina shot back with a hint of anger.

She wasn't going to sit here and be told about her family's situation by an outsider.

It was infuriating to hear all of this.

Upon hearing this, Genevieve sighed lightly, "Look, the Duke wanted you to choose a man at the end of this month or perhaps if he's in a good mood, the next, am I right? You wouldn't be able to persuade him to extend the deadline, this is your final. I came here to tell you that my family can help you persuade him to extend the deadline"

Almost instantly after she said that the warm air around them suddenly became colder.

Davina's expression remained neutral and cold but there was a sharp edge to it.

One that made even Genevieve lean away slightly.

"In exchange for what?" Davina whispered hauntingly, looking at Genevieve dead in her eyes. "Let me guess, you want me to accept my Father marrying your whore Mother, is that it? You want me to allow a woman who only took advantage of his love to be his wife…? My siblings might be fooled but not me, you won't fool me"

"Cursing out my Mother is uncalled for, Princess Davina," Genevieve retorted. "Behave yourself"

"Or what…?" Davina leaned forward. "What can a mere expired Eternal Spirit do?"

Genevieve's expression reddened, the words got to her and she could barely keep her composure.

Even though she wanted to argue, she wanted to slap Davina right now, but she couldn't.

Not that she was afraid of the consequences but Davina was shining too brightly—compared to her, Davina was a brilliant star that was flocked by others. Retaliating against Davina doesn't seem right, it doesn't seem… proper.

And those thoughts and feelings made her angrier.

"She's nothing like that, you have no proof," Genevieve argued desperately.

But this made Davina smile, "I know about the help sent by my Father, several nigh-Master Eternal Spirit rank warriors sent to help your house to make an achievement so that nominating your Mother to the Emperor to become a Viscountess will be acceptable. Do you think I wouldn't know, you bunch of leechers"

Naturally, provided with the stone-cold fact, Genevieve has nothing to say.

She was silenced.

"My Mother might be a bad person but that's because she was afraid her relationship with your Father is temporary," Genevieve suddenly said whisperingly. "If you give her a chance, allow her to be a part of your family, she'll certainly warm up to you. Give her a chance"

"No, I'd rather marry a bum than be pressured by the likes of you," Davina turned away.

Hearing this, Genevieve nodded her head repeatedly.

She looked at Davina complicatedly one last time before she stood up and walked away.

Once Genevieve disappeared around the corner, Davina could finally relax—a bit, exhaling the breath she unconsciously held. It wasn't supposed to go this way—the time when the Nameless Dragon Arena was announced, the entire empire was in turmoil.

Every single noble woman came to her devastated, not wanting her to take on a husband.

Considering her very young age and extreme talent, she was destined to lead the empire to glory.

Back then, she got away by using the excuse of wanting to prove to the Duke, her Father that there was no man who was on her level. And backed by the Saintess of Purity who prophesied that no man from this plane could match her talent and make a good partner, not even the crown prince, she got away from the bad situation.

Thus, everyone accepted the Nameless Dragon Arena was a fluke.

Only Davina knew the truth, that tournament was really for her to find a good partner.

Or else, she would be hurting her Father.

"Had you two survived…" Davina massaged her throbbing forehead, remembering the death of her two brothers at the hands of a new Voidal Monarch. "I wouldn't be in this situation. Now, what am I going to do? Who should I pick? As much as I love Father, I don't want a man like him"

Recounting how her Father became spineless and compliant to Baroness Sordan, she bit her lip.

Exhaling lightly, Davina sipped on her tea before standing up to leave.

She would need to return to the Imperial Bubble as soon as possible.

Several days passed.

Rex and the others would need to cover roughly thirty miles to reach the Aurelian Fortress.

Roughly calculating with Amanir's flying speed in mind, covering that distance—would take almost a day at best and that estimation already took into consideration—that they were flying along the Black Rift's current, making them faster.

But Rex and the others underestimated the journey.

It took them more than a day to cover the first ten miles because of the Voidal Monsters.

In fact, it would've taken longer had it not been for Kraken.

Just the presence of a special Voidal Knight was enough to ward all Voidal Pawns.

Only a couple of Voidal Knights needed to be dealt with.

Once the four of them broke through the ten-mile mark, the rest of the way was substantially easier.

Must be because the Aurelian Fortress' forces have cleared out the surrounding Voidal Monsters.

A moment earlier, Rex checked the deadline and found he was 41 days away from failing the quest and also being late to save Nivellen. It's been nine days since he came to this realm. He managed to reach the Immortal Spirit rank and took down a house but that wasn't fast enough.

He needed to be faster.

Other than checking the time, he also examined his stats and his new Spirit Genesis.

<Rex Silverstar – Spirit Body>

Status: Restless and Weak.

Race: Grand Royal Black Werewolf / Ghost Spirit

Power: Immortal Spirit 1 (3) (Third Circle) – Harbinger of the Nightfall

Soul Artifact: Red Dawn of Kaiser – SSS-grade (Attack), Mask of the Banished Eclipse – SSS-grade (Hybrid), Aegis of Moon Sentinel – SSS-grade (Defense).

Level: 42 (93%/100%)

Full Moon: 44 Days – Blood Moon

Berserk: 66%

Sanity: 44%

Spiritual Points: 213,000 -> 700,500

Strength: 167,500 (+138,875) -> 620,500 (+403,325)

Agility: 144,000 (+123,600) -> 479,000 (+311,350)

Endurance: 156,000 (+101,400) -> 850,000 (+552,500)

Form Expiry Time: 41 Days.

Compared to when he broke through to the Ascendant Spirit rank, his stats changed dramatically now.

His power was already equivalent to the ninth-rank realm in the Mortal Realm, evidently displaying the disparity between the two realms. Of course, comparing it like this is not fair to the Mortal Realm as it hasn't fully returned to its peak yet.

But right now, his stats were already becoming stronger.

And better yet, this was only with one of his Soul Artifacts reaching the Immortal Spirit rank.

He still has two more so his stats still have room to grow as an Immortal Spirit 1.

Next, he checked his first Spirit Genesis.

<Spirit Genesis: Inevitable Death>

Soul Artifact: Red Dawn of Kaiser

Assimilated Echo: -

Power: Apted the Minor Law of Inevitability—and caused lethal, unavoidable damage to a target within the casting range. (Can only be applied to the same rank and grow weaker if used to those above the user's rank)

Limitation: Use a lot of blood every use, double the required amount if used outside of nighttime, and have a chance to backfire twofold through a phantom pain.

Neutralizer: 20x required blood from others.

Rex skimmed through the descriptions and realized that it was exactly what he wanted to create.

Since the Red Dawn of Kaiser has the Minor Law of Inevitability, he wanted to create a Spirit Genesis that utilized that to its fullest extent. Being able to induce inevitable damage was what came to his mind at the moment.

Just like the way he killed Istvan, this Spirit Genesis allowed him to kill anyone

Such precision was a privilege to an SSS-grade Soul Artifact.

Others would have deviations in their actual Spirit Genesis from their desired Spirit Genesis.

But Rex doesn't have that problem.

However, the only deviations he noticed were the Limitations and the Neutralizer.

Rex could understand the Limitation section—it was the cost of using the Spirit Genesis, and it was quite harsh. Since this Soul Artifact came from Kaiser, a Lunirich God, the fact that the Spirit Genesis was more suitable to be used during the night was understandable.

Yet, what troubled Rex the most was backfire chance.

Twofold…? So if I crushed the target's heart, there's a chance I would experience the pain twofold? Outstanding.
