Liu Dong stared blankly at the three-and-a-half-year-old toddler in front of him. Gu Xuesong’s serious expression shattered his last bit of hope.

“Elder... Elder?” He couldn’t even remember how he managed to utter those two words. Now, the only thing left in his mind was the word “shame.”

He had lived for decades, yet he couldn’t even compare to a toddler. He felt like all those years had been wasted. However, after the initial shame, he suddenly realized something.

Being young was a huge advantage!

This was a true genius. If he could recruit her into the organization, he would dare to slap his promotion letter in his boss’s face and proudly show off his keen eye for talent.

The more Liu Dong thought about it, the more excited he became. His eyes gleamed as he looked at the child. Gu Yu, standing nearby, recognized that look all too well.

This guy was trying to steal his sister. He quickly stepped in front of her, shielding her with his body, and glared at Liu Dong with a dangerous expression.

Yaoyao peeked out from behind her seventh brother’s leg, her big, round eyes staring curiously at the man.

“Ahem... Don’t misunderstand,” Liu Dong quickly explained, seeing their guarded expressions. “I don’t mean any harm. It’s just that someone as young as you, with such incredible talent, would be a perfect fit for our special management department. Would you be interested in joining us?”

Oh, so he was recruiting!

Yaoyao twisted her little hands together, her voice soft and sweet as she said, “If I join your organization, I’ll have to do tasks. Seventh Brother says you have to be eighteen to work. I’m only three and a half, so I can’t work yet. That’s why I can’t join you.”

Liu Dong was completely caught off guard by this rejection. His face turned green.

Gu Yu, seeing the man’s failed attempt to poach his sister, couldn’t hide his smug expression. Clearly, the anti-scam lessons he had drilled into her were paying off.

“My apologies for disturbing you,” Liu Dong said, dejected, as he escorted the prisoner away.

Before leaving, he handed over a business card and said, “You’ve done our organization a huge favor today. If you ever need anything, just give me a call. I’ll be there in no time.”

After all, this was a master of at least the fourth level of the Mystic Realm

. Even if she was young and didn’t join the organization, she was still someone worth befriending.

Once everyone had left, the hall fell silent.

At that moment, Gu Heng’s phone buzzed. He answered it, listened for a moment, and then hung up. He turned to Gu Xuesong and said, “Dad, we’ve caught the person who hired Xuanguang to harm Mom. It’s Liu Ruhai.”

“How could it be him?” Gu Xuesong frowned.

A while ago, he had asked the butler to investigate the traitor in the family, and they had made some progress. It would have taken a few more days to narrow it down, but thanks to his daughter, they had caught the culprit today.

Xuanguang’s phone hadn’t been completely wiped of his communications with his employer, allowing the Gu family to quickly identify the hirer based on the dates and bank transfer records. However, the result was unexpected.

“Weren’t the Liu family on good terms with us? They even attended the banquet today. How could they be so treacherous behind our backs?” Gu Jinnian, the third brother, couldn’t help but speak up.

They had initially suspected the families that were openly hostile to the Gu family. Who would have thought they had been misled, almost going in circles?

“Don’t worry about that. Liu Ruhai nearly killed your mother. He doesn’t deserve to live comfortably. Gu Heng, you handle this,” Gu Xuesong said calmly.

Of course, he didn’t mean to kill Liu Ruhai outright. There were plenty of ways to make someone wish they were dead.

Liu Ruhai cared deeply about the Liu family’s business. If the Liu family went bankrupt, he would suffer more than if he had died.

“Dad, Big Brother, you don’t need to work too hard. That person is about to have a stroke of bad luck!” Yaoyao suddenly spoke up, looking at her father and eldest brother.

She naturally hated anyone who tried to harm her mother. Earlier, she had asked her seventh brother to show her a photo of Liu Ruhai

, and she had noticed something about his facial features.

"Yaoyao, why do you say that?” Gu Xuesong asked, intrigued.

His daughter was the family’s little lucky star, with incredible abilities. If she said someone was about to have bad luck, it was bound to happen.

“Well, this person’s Marriage Palace and Children’s Palace show dual lords, which means he has another woman outside, and she’s even given him a son.”

“But his Wealth Palace indicates that he rose to power thanks to his current wife’s family. He’s terrified of his in-laws’ influence, so he’s been keeping this secret hidden. But now, the secret is about to come out.”

The Liu family was powerful, and Liu Ruhai was at fault. If his in-laws decided to take action, he might end up with nothing. Wasn’t that a stroke of bad luck?

Although Yaoyao was young, she knew that infidelity never ended well.

“Hahaha! Liu Ruhai is famously henpecked in our circles. How dare he keep a mistress and even have a child with her? He’s practically asking for trouble!” Gu Li laughed so hard his mouth almost split.

He added, “I’ll go be his wife’s lawyer. I’ll make sure he doesn’t get a single penny.”

“Do a good job, and the car you’ve been eyeing is yours,” Gu Xuesong said, making a generous promise.

Although Gu Li often seemed carefree, he was genuinely talented in law. If he said he could do it, he meant it.

“Wow! Thanks, Dad. I’ll make sure this is handled perfectly,” Gu Li said, grinning from ear to ear.

He had been wanting to buy that car for a while but hadn’t had enough money. Now, not only could he take down a scumbag, but he could also score a nice reward. It was a double win. He glanced at Yaoyao, who was wearing her princess dress, and couldn’t resist picking her up and spinning her around.

"Yaoyao! You’re really bringing your fifth brother good luck!”

“From now on, if there’s anything you want, just tell your fifth brother. I’ll move heaven and earth to get it for you.”

Yaoyao

hadn’t expected her fifth brother to suddenly pick her up. Caught off guard, she spun around several times, her cheeks turning red. She said softly, “Fifth Brother, I’m a little dizzy. Put me down.”

“Ah, right!” Gu Li quickly set her down.

Chen Hui, watching her husband and children protect her so fiercely, felt a warmth in her heart. She smiled and said, “Alright, it’s been a long day. Everyone, go back to your rooms and rest.”

The banquet had started at six in the evening, and after all the commotion, it was almost bedtime.

Gu Heng was the first to stand up. He wanted to check on his son. Gu Wei had woken up briefly after being brought back, eaten a little, and then gone back to sleep because he was still tired. Gu Heng needed to make sure he was okay.

Yaoyao was also feeling sleepy. She turned to ask the nanny to take her back to her room, but Gu Yu volunteered, ”Yaoyao, let your seventh brother take you back.”

As he spoke, he gave her a secret signal. Yaoyao was momentarily stunned, then flashed a bright smile. “Okay, okay!”

Gu Li had wanted to join in, but the two of them refused, leaving him to watch helplessly as his sister was taken away by his seventh brother.

He clenched his fists secretly. No, he had to work harder. He couldn’t let Gu Yu completely steal his sister away.

Meanwhile, Gu Yu and Yaoyao had already reached her room.

"Yaoyao, tomorrow morning at seven, your seventh brother is going live. Remember to join me, okay?”

His eyes were full of hope. Since she had already promised him earlier, Yaoyao didn’t hesitate this time. She nodded and said, “No problem, Seventh Brother.”

“See you tomorrow!”

“See you tomorrow!” Gu Yu’s smile was so wide it could reach the sky. As he turned around and saw his fifth brother approaching, he gave him a sidelong glance, his eyes filled with disdain.

The message was clear: My sister is closer to me!

Gu Li was so angry he could barely contain himself, his face turning red with frustration.
