Chapter 155: Kameira Elimination (3)
Karlstein realized something about the sudden influx of insignificant Ether.
Selena and that Lich fellow must’ve put in some effort, seeing how they completed it faster than expected.
He was well aware that those two had been working on refining the support system recently.
Using it like this greatly reduces the Ether conversion rate, but it’s incredibly useful in the current situation!
Thanks to this, the subjugation became a bit easier.
Boom-
Unidentified entities that could normally rank as Triple Numbers were exploding left and right.
Although the quality of that external Ether was considerably lower compared to the Ether the heroes originally possessed, quantity made a difference.
Boom-
Just wielding the Ether skillfully without circulating it through their bodies changed the destructive power.“Somehow it feels like my body is overflowing with power?”
“Hehe. It’s crude, but perfect for temporary use.”
It was like a normal attack passive of sorts. For most beginners, drawing on external Ether might be dangerous, but everyone present was skilled.
Boom-
They just had to use the Ether immediately as it came in.
“Don’t panic! Just use the externally injected Ether immediately while conserving your own!”
As seasoned heroes, they adapted instantly.
“We can use it freely, right?”
“That’s right.”
Flame Witch Leira smiled dangerously.
“I just happened to need an outlet!”
Karlstein was the same. He needed to conserve his own Ether, but there was no need to hold back with external Ether that could be used freely.
Maxien also slashed through Kaiju while blasting away with the additional inflow of Ether.
Slash-
Her elegant Sword Energy cleanly decapitated a Kaiju.
Karlstein exclaimed in admiration.
If there was one small downside though, it was that the ones receiving the extra Ether were mostly female heroes.
“…”
It was very characteristic of the Community.
***
“Your Majesty! You must conserve your strength!”
“The same goes for Lady Maxien.”
“Please leave this to us.”
The cleanup of Kaiju had already reached its final stages.
“We’ll soon be joining the vanguard.”
BOOOM!
SKREEE!
They slew the Named Entities spawned by Kameira.
No Double Numbers yet, but… that’ll come soon too.
“We’re approaching the target location.”
“Hmm…”
“I’ll take the lead here.”
“Oh?”
Massive Ether was detected from Maxien’s sword.
“Save your streng—“
Karlstein paused mid-sentence, dumbfounded by the rotten Community’s favoritism. Unlike the trickle of Ether coming to Karlstein, Maxien was overflowing with Ether.
“…Alright.”
Following Maxien’s sword strike, a dazzling flash filled the passage, splitting the area ahead.
“Found them!”
“Join up!”
“Milo! Are you alright?!”
They found Milo, exhausted and covered in blood.
“…Cough. Aren’t you a bit late?”
“You did good.”
Dozens of the tankers formed a link of white Ether with Milo. He was in terrible shape from taking damage on behalf of Team 2, whose members were somewhat less skilled than Team 1. And besides that…
Karlstein’s eyes filled with regret. He could only see about 80 people. Nearly 200 tank team members were nowhere to be seen. Thanks to the suppressors they installed, the rest of the personnel could arrive without major damage… but at what cost?
Karlstein patted Milo’s shoulder. Milo’s expression was somewhat bitter, unfitting for his muscular macho appearance.
Karlstein understood that feeling well.
But before Milo could speak, Leira suddenly jabbed a syringe into his neck.
“Gargh!”
“What are you doing? Stop whining, recover and get back out there.”
“Be gentler…”
“Hmph…”
The atmosphere lightened a bit with Leira’s playful scolding.
Indeed, this was not the time to mourn. Everything could wait until after they destroyed Kameira’s heart.
“Your Majesty. You should rest for now. Leave it to Milo for a while.”
“Huh?”
Milo’s bewildered gaze turned to Leira.
“Uh, Leira… aren’t you discriminating too much?”
“Milo. You couldn’t be asking for the same treatment as His Majesty?”
“T-that’s not it, but…!”
“Shut up and focus on recovering, muscle pig.”
Leira’s cold voice stabed at Milo.
“What are you doing! How long are you going to stay depressed! Get to the front line now! You are strictly His Majesty’s substitute—“
“W-well…”
Mm. Surely she’s acting to lighten the mood, right?
Karlstein slipped away quietly.
At that moment, Maxien approached. Twelve Ether swords were circling around her, scattering light.
“Your Majesty. The support team’s search results are in. We believe that’s the direction where it is.”
The direction Maxien pointed was at a slightly different angle from the passage he had come through.
In other words, they had to open a new passage.
“Can you do it once more?”
“Of course.”
Karlstein nodded and summoned his weapon box. The tank-sized box that had been quietly following him floated over.
The front of the dark weapon box, shaped like a thick shield, had forty protruding handles.
Karlstein took out No. 14, which he had used and stored earlier.
Shing-
Whirr-
As he pulled out needle No. 14, a blue cylinder popped out from the bottom simultaneously.
Thud.
Karlstein nodded as he felt the handle’s touch. It was sufficiently usable.
More than half of the Ether armaments he used required a reuse cooldown. Unlike past subjugations, he could use them more freely now.
After pulling out No. 14 Taitalos, Karlstein attached the cylinder to the spear tip.
Voom-
The cylinder’s liquid filled the crystal spear’s interior. The crystal spear with two blades shot out from his hand again.
Taitalos, turning into a hazy anti-matter crystal the moment it was hurled, rushed forward.
BOOOOM-
Cold air filled the passage, freezing the battlefield’s heat instantly and creating a path.
C-c-crack-
“Stay alert now!”
Speed was of the essence. Even he did not know what came after this stage. An unknown realm. They had to just keep moving forward.
Karlstein led everyone and stepped towards the passage.
***
Karlstein’s mission continued relentlessly.
ㄴthey killed that woah
ㄴlooks like one ace just retired.
ㄴseems team 1 is starting to take action now
ㄴIt’s almost like they’re just grinding through people…?
ㄴeven the glimpses of the outside situation is horrifying
ㄴWhy is it so intense?
ㄴeven lord Karl has 6 weps out
ㄴSeems tough
ㄴso those are all double numbers or w.e?
ㄴdidnt realize when orange was tearing through them but yh looks liek it
ㄴSuch a huge difference between Single Numbers and Double Numbers. He’s just mowing down Double Numbers.
ㄴlol for reference those are being pulled out of a body as large as a planet.
ㄴIt’s like conquering a planet barehanded
ㄴand one full of those named kaiju.
ㄴlmao is this mission difficulty for real?
Everyone was appalled by the outrageous difficulty.
By now, half of the 1800 heroes had retired. The severely injured were injected with healing factors before being left behind, while the group pressed forward. Meanwhile, the deceased were abandoned as they moved on.
ㄴisn’t this shit insane?
ㄴIt really feels like they’re sacrificing everything for the mission
ㄴwhat happens to the people left behind?
ㄴwat do u think bruh…
ㄴSigh.
ㄴthats sad
ㄴeven THE galactic empire has to go this far?
ㄴYou can see for yourself.
ㄴlooks like quite a few will be retiring this time
ㄴA tank-type Kaiju…
ㄴIt even blocked Maxien-sama’s sword energy.
ㄴdont misunderstand yo i think she still saving strength
ㄴUntil when exactly?
ㄴWho knows
ㄴbros its already been a day
If there was any consolation, for Kaiju that seemed difficult to handle, they selected a few people to leave behind. They would defeat the Kaiju before going to take care of the injured left in the rear.
ㄴThose suppressor things seem really effective.
ㄴyeah. I see peeps trying to fight within their range as much as possible
ㄴdid u bros see the fight outside the suppressor earlier? It was like infinitely reviving undead-level regeneration…
ㄴugh disgusting
Watching them continue fighting endlessly, stained with blood, it seemed like they knew no limits.
ㄴstill it seems they’ve made quite a bit of progress?
ㄴconsidering how many kaiju they killed ya
ㄴthey prolly got some leeway since orange hasn’t stepped in yet
Yet contrary to the atmosphere within the Community, Karlstein’s expression gradually hardened.
Something’s off.
While the Community was buzzing about insane difficulty, monsters, and how amazing the spectacle was, Karlstein found it hard to agree.
Even considering the difference between No.6 and No.9, and the Galactic Empire’s development so far…
To end with just this much… it’s too easy.
No. 14 Taitalos also had space distortion properties, allowing much faster movement in the same time. He felt like they were quite close to the creature’s core now.
Yet they faced only this little resistance?
“Maxien, I think we need to be on guard.”
“…Yes.”
Most of those who had participated in past Single Number subjugations felt similarly. They seemed more tense, if anything.
They continued breaking through for the moment, defeating the blocking Kaiju, and planting suppressors. But then, with Milo in the lead, a huge open space appeared on the Galactic Empire forces’ path.
I didn’t open this.
It seemed… to be a space created by Kameira itself. And when they arrived there—
“H-how is that…!”
“!!”
“Damn it.”
“No wonder it felt too easy.”
“Haah…”
“It seems… the opponent is too much to conserve strength.”
Everyone’s faces turned pale. Karlstein was no exception.
“Delroa is supposed to be dead… How…?”
A massive being stood in the center of the clearing, looking down at them—No.6 Delroa.
“All forces! Close your eyes immediately!!!”
Karlstein’s urgent cry thundered across the /genesisforsaken
What do you think?
