Chapter 241
Ethan seemed to be in shock at the fact that Cherry wasn't breathing.
He stared at her with an unreadable expression, as if he didn’t know what to think.
"Hey, Lancaster. Get a grip."
Ezra shook Ethan's shoulder, but Ethan remained unmoved.
With no other choice, Ezra ignored Ethan and continued checking Cherry's condition, attempting to perform emergency first aid, but Cherry’s breath still hadn’t returned.
Cherry… is she really going to die like this?
Could something have gone wrong when she absorbed the spring water into her body?
Ezra was just as anxious. Cherry was special to him too, not just to Ethan.
"Wait. She’s a spring bearer. She can’t die like this."@@novelbin@@
Ezra’s words were meant as reassurance to himself. There was no need to panic. They had the spring water.
But Ethan still didn’t answer, holding tightly to Cherry's hand.
"We don’t have time for this."
Nikolai urged them, his own attention divided as he helped the pregnant woman, who also seemed in a precarious state.
Neither Ethan nor Ezra was ready to accept Cherry’s death. They had to get her out of there, no matter what.
"Lancaster. Do you hear me?"
Ethan lifted his head, still gripping Cherry's hand.
When he met Ezra’s gaze, Ezra shook his head. Ethan was completely lost. He had checked out entirely.
What do you think?
