The Male Leads Are Trapped in My House

Chapter 25

Her response carried a strangely offbeat nuance. A daughter scolding her father for worrying about his son—it was an odd reply, seemingly unrelated yet entirely truthful.

Still, Aurora’s expression remained bright and carefree as she looked at Duke Lancaster.

“Well, that’s true…” Duke Lancaster sighed. “But isn’t it time he stopped rebelling? He’s not a child anymore.”

Aurora reached across the table and gently placed her hand over her father’s, her face filled with exaggerated concern.

“So that’s what’s been bothering you. But I think it could be resolved if you’d just let go of your ambitions for my brother. Father, you’re too ambitious. I’m starting to see signs of a villain. You need to be careful.”

Once again, her words veered off course but managed to hit uncomfortably close to the truth.@@novelbin@@

The problem was, Aurora’s concern for Duke Lancaster seemed entirely sincere.

Hearing her words, Duke Lancaster let out another deep sigh. He couldn’t figure out how his son and daughter had both turned out this way. Suddenly, he felt like he needed a drink.

Shaking his head as if to dismiss the thought, he gave Aurora one final instruction.

“These are dangerous times. Aurora, you must stay at the Lancaster estate. No leaving. Is that clear?”

Aurora’s eyes widened in surprise.

Duke Lancaster suddenly felt nervous about what she might say next.

“Did you just give your adult daughter a house arrest order? Hmm. I’m not sure how to respond to that, but…”

“If you’re not sure, just keep your mouth shut and do as your father says.”

“Yes. I’ll do that.”

Aurora agreed quickly, but even as she replied, she was already plotting how to sneak away to Brunel without her father finding out.
