Chapter 255 - 254: The Second Team Commander! Demon!
Chapter 255: Chapter 254: The Second Team Commander! Demon!
Team Three looked toward Xiao Qimo with anticipation.
In the dim light, his tea-colored eyes met the pitch-black pupils beneath the Reaper Mask, the only window for communication between them. Identities were hard to discern, but emotions were not.
In that faint cold gleam, Team Three read the aloofness and disregard of the Team One commander, who seemed to keep others at a thousand-mile distance.
“Thanks, but no involvement.”
The calm voice, altered by a voice changer and automatically translated, reached Team Three with precision. Despite an empty seat of the Team Two commander between them, it still made him shiver uncontrollably.
Team One is Team One, with an undoubtedly powerful presence. @@novelbin@@
One can only wonder what such a person is like in real life.
He touched his nose, no longer as in control as before. With big boss one and two above him, he, being the third, could only be a junior.
Then someone reminded,
“Team One, there’s something fishy about today’s incidents. It’s worth our investigation.”
Xiao Qimo leaned against the chair back, motioning for the other to continue.
He was merely sitting there, expressing no emotions. Yet, he unconsciously exuded an aura of authority that made the other seven people feel under considerable pressure.
“Ahem, Team One, did you notice that a car was speeding like crazy in Hong City today?”
Xiao Qimo nodded slightly, having heard about it from Mo Si.
“Speeding isn’t unusual, it’s often just a sign of good skills. But the strange thing is, surveillance footage was tampered with, and none of us could figure it out…”
“I tried to restore it, to no avail. It seems the other party is deliberately hiding something.”
“If even we can’t find out, then we can’t treat this as a common incident. If the other party is a dangerous organization, it could pose a potential threat to Hong City and to global security.”
Their organization existed to solve the problems that others could not. Presumably, the traffic police department of Hong City would be quite troubled now, and they wouldn’t mind lending a hand.
“Team One, now… only you can solve this.”
Of course, if Team One couldn’t solve it, then there likely wasn’t anyone who could.
Xiao Qimo listened to his colleagues’ analysis and, after pondering, hummed an acknowledgment and opened the notebook in front of him.
Tap-tap-tap switched to a blue screen page where countless English letters immediately appeared.
He sat upright, his slender fingers moving quickly.
The other seven consciously refrained from making a sound or crowding around, waiting quietly for the outcome.

Outside the heavy metal door, a slim, tall figure in black clothing, a black mask, and a black fisherman’s hat, stood at the entrance.
The pattern on the Black Mask depicted the Tarot “Devil” card.
A pair of unfathomably dark eyes gleamed with rebelliousness and wildness.
Lu Mian adjusted her mask slightly, confirmed the door number, and was about to push the door open when her phone vibrated with an incoming message.
She withdrew her hand and checked the message first.
Yu: “Someone has tracked the surveillance; about seven forces are investigating you.”
Seven forces?
Lu Mian raised her eyebrows, feeling helpless.
Was all this fuss just because she drove around for a bit?
Yu’s second message came right after.
“I’ve blocked the first six, but the last one… it’s only a matter of time before they breach the defenses.”
Lu Mian understood now, the last one was the real problem. If Yu couldn’t hold them off, she would have to take matters into her own hands.
She didn’t want to invite unnecessary trouble, especially not let anyone know she had had contact with Yu’s sister, so she asked Yu to edit her out of the footage.
Although she wasn’t sure who was investigating her, she could no longer worry about the meeting.
Agitated, she kicked the marble floor and walked toward the restroom, sullenly.
However, as she turned around, someone suddenly appeared behind her.
She looked up and upon seeing the person in front of her, a smile tinted her eyes.
What do you think?
