Especially the military.
Even now, in this apocalyptic world, the remaining modern weapons are enough to destroy a shelter.
“We’ve entered the residential area, be careful!” the man said.
The SUV plunged directly into the residential area ahead.
Immediately, a chorus of zombie howls erupted, and a large swarm of zombies emerged from all directions, charging at the SUV.
The man floored the gas pedal and rammed straight into them.
In the violent collision, the windshield was covered with tainted blood, and the wipers cleared off the blood and flesh.
The SUV seemed about to break free from the residential area.
Suddenly, the glass above shattered, and zombies leaped down from the buildings.
Bang, bang, bang~!
They landed on the roof like falling stones.
The already bouncing SUV lost balance the moment it burst out of the residential area and onto the main road.
It swerved drastically and crashed into a roadside lamp post with a loud bang.
The SUV came to a halt, and two or three hundred zombies streamed out of the residential area, rushing toward them.
The siblings inside the car were disoriented by the impact, a ringing in their ears.
Barely regaining their senses, they found the SUV surrounded by zombies.
Sharp claws smashed against the car body and roof.
Bang, bang, bang~!
The intense pounding made the car body slide nonstop.
Even with its reinforced modifications, it would not last long.
“Damn it!” the man kept trying to start the ignition, but the more he panicked, the less the SUV responded.
The woman said, “If we die here, at least we can be reunited with mom and dad, which wouldn’t be so bad….”
“What are you talking about? We are not going to die.”
The man quickly crawled under the car, beginning to check what was wrong with it.
“But….”
Tap, tap, tap~!
Before she could finish, the woman’s eyes went wide with shock, staring in disbelief at a cavalry unit charging toward them at full speed.
Silver armor, towering steeds, wielding lances.
Underneath the helmets were ghostly white Skeleton heads, and the battlehorses were also made of bone, Skeleton Horses.
They spurred their horses into a frenzied charge, an aura of killing intent surrounding them.
What the hell are these things?
“Bro, bro, look quickly.”
The woman said, still staring intently ahead.
In the midst of speaking, the Skeleton Cavalrymen, like lightning, cut through a horde of over a hundred zombies, spearing through the undead, lifting them high into the air, and tossing them to the side of the road.
Then, the cavalrymen circled back and charged again into the zombies, flinging masses of them into the air.
After two rounds of charging, they also attracted the attention of the zombies.
No longer attacking the metal car, all of them turned and charged toward the Skeleton Cavalry.
…
The siblings’ hearts pounded wildly, scarcely able to believe the scene before them.
The cavalry consisted of only a dozen or so men, yet they were up against a horde of over a hundred zombies.@@novelbin@@
Yet the cavalry continued to ride swiftly through the throng of the dead, repeatedly clearing the zombies and drawing them away from the SUV.
And those fierce violent zombies had no chance against the high mobility of the cavalry.
It was terrifying.
Shocked, the siblings were somewhat frozen in place for a moment.
A modified armored vehicle approached from directly ahead.
“They are survivors, those Skeleton Cavalrymen are from the Survivor Base,” the woman exclaimed.
The man also thought of Superpower.
The armored vehicle quickly came closer and stopped. Someone quickly walked over and took a glance inside the car.
Seeing that the two were still alive, he directly said, “Can your car move? Follow us.”
The man restarted the SUV, and after several attempts, it finally started up.
When things weren’t going smoothly, it wouldn’t start no matter what.
Now, it had started again.
They followed the armored vehicle, driving forward.
…
Ahead.
The wide road had been turned into a checkpoint.
Discarded cars and roadblock bollards sealed off much of the road, leaving only a gap wide enough for two cars in the middle.
And behind the barricades, survivors could be seen clad in bulletproof vests, along with Skeletons holding firearms and wearing Leather armor.
The siblings’ mouths fell open a bit.
There were armed Skeletons, too.
This was some kind of modernized otherworldly troop.
At the entrance, two fully armed survivors approached.
After gesturing for them to roll down the window, they asked, “Which shelter are you from?”
“North Station Shelter.”
“Any injuries?”
“No!”
After a delay of a few minutes to confirm they were okay,
the barricade was moved aside, “Just drive in, and you will see the exchange place.”
“Thank you!”
What do you think?
