Chapter 457: Chapter 376, Cold Light Beheading (One update today).
“So this sword is pretty useless, it kills even its wielder,” Wu Heng complained.
Xi Ligui said, “That’s how an Evil Sword is; it inherently has very unique characteristics, and most of its side effects impact the user.”
The Evil Sword from Kerim, now that I think about it, its side effects are on the minor side.
Once you take it in hand, it only affects your thoughts, constantly making you want to challenge insurmountable targets.
But this Evil Sword doesn’t differentiate between friend and foe; once drawn, it just kills indiscriminately.
“Then how did the previous owner of this weapon use it?” Wu Heng continued to ask.
The previous owner.
Must have had some method, surely.
Xi Ligui frowned in thought, then said, “I’m not sure who the last user was, but such weapons are surely used very infrequently. For a swordsman, having a weapon that restricts themselves is a deadly mistake.”
“This sword is really a curse for whoever buys it!” Wu Heng sighed helplessly.
“Sold in the consortium’s auction, the buyer must be wealthy. A fool and his money are soon parted, most likely bought as a collector’s item,” Xi Ligui said with a smile, and continued, “But an Evil Sword, if used well, can have effects beyond expectations. Kerim has such a big reputation largely because of having an Evil Sword.”
“For this sword that kills living targets, hasn’t any user researched some method to use it?”
Xi Ligui pondered again and said, “As long as there’s a way to sheath the sword again, it’ll be fine. You’re a mage; why are you so interested in an Evil Sword?”
“Actually, I harbor a dream of becoming a swordsman.”
“You’ll never endure the hardships of sword training; just stick to being your mage,” Xi Ligui retorted, and then said, “I’ll have someone check out who the previous user of this sword was and what method they used. It shouldn’t be hard to get the information from the ‘Secret Speaker.'”
After finishing, she looked up at him, “It wasn’t you who bought the sword, was it?”
“What are you saying? I’ve only just heard of this sword.”
“That’s right. The consortium wouldn’t let you participate; there are certain requirements for the attendees.”
“You’re not mocking me for being a poor young man, are you?”
Xi Ligui laughed and gave him a look, “The quotas for capturing pirates from above should be coming down soon. We can work together and complete it then.”
“It’s coming down so soon?”
“It should be. The Pirate Groups are becoming more active, and without quotas, the trade groups can’t even sail out.”
“Indeed!” Wu Heng nodded.
Suddenly, he remembered Philippa.
Last time, I got a blank envelope with news of a robbery targeting the Water Chestnut Trade Group, and suddenly there’s no news for the past couple of days!
“Right, you’re still wanted by the Pirates. You need to be careful,” he mentioned.
“Hmm, it’s a bit troublesome.”
“No worries, it’s still safe on the island.”
After chatting for a while, Wu Heng got up and left.
He’d mainly come to talk about the Evil Sword. The other party said they’d help him look into it, and now he just had to wait for news.
He returned to his study.
Andre Willow was in the room, looking at the documents that had been sent over.
Wu Heng sat for a while, then greeted her and directly left the association.
He headed back to his residence.
…
He headed back to his residence.
Pushing open the courtyard door,
he saw Mini training in the yard with Bawudong.
Each punch and kick whipped up gusts of wind.
It seemed she had become even more diligent than before.
“Master!” Mini waved energetically from afar.
“Keep training, I’m not here for anything special,” Wu Heng called out to her.
Mini smiled, “Okay.”
Then she continued training with Bawudong.
Their kicking and punching carried through the air with whistling sounds.
Although she had little chance for real combat, with the effort she had put in during this time plus the corpse core potions Wu Heng had been giving her,
she would be considered skilled back in Lundham City.
At the very least, she could be a key member of a gang, or even the leader of a small gang.
She was no longer the little slave who hadn’t even undergone class change.
He went straight upstairs to the study.
Pouring himself a cup of tea and downing it in one go,
he opened the boundary door and directly went to the Zombie World.
On the other side, the office of the manager.
He took out the walkie-talkie and pressed the talk button, “Qi Hancai, can you hear me?”
“Loud and clear!” came Qi Hancai’s voice from the walkie-talkie.
“Is there anything happening right now?”
“Arranging patrols, moving to the upper floor now,” she responded.
Wu Heng instructed, “Prepare the vehicles. We’re going to the place we talked about last time to clear out the zombies.”
“Roger that!”
Conversation over.
Wu Heng made quick preparations and descended the stairs with the Skeleton.
He walked to the other side of the supermarket toward the large gate.
Two trucks and an off-road vehicle equipped with a machine gun were parked at the entrance.
Wu Heng ordered the Skeleton Army over and got into the passenger seat of one of the trucks.
The convoy headed toward the ‘Trade City’ they had agreed upon last time.
…
Trade City wasn’t far from the roundabout.
A 20-minute drive, and you could see a signboard in the distance.
A glance revealed congested roads filled with vehicles and swarms of wandering zombies.
“Park the cars here; replace the ammo drums for the Skeleton Flying Dragons,” Wu Heng commanded.
“Got it!” Qi Hancai nodded and relayed the orders over the walkie-talkie.
Wu Heng also got out of the vehicle and pushed forward with the Skeleton Army for a bit.
He released Glenda and Xiao Xiao to scout out the situation.
Before long, two Ghosts flew back.
Xiao Xiao said, “Uncle, there’s a big Mutated Zombie inside.”
Glenda added, “I took a look around, and there’s only that one Mutated Zombie.”
“Let me have a look!” Wu Heng said.
The two Ghosts entered his body, and their visual images were shared in his mind.
The road into Trade City was packed with zombies.
Among them, he could see interspersed evolved zombies, not many in number, but their shriveled skin made them relatively easy to distinguish.
What do you think?
