Chapter 480: Chapter 395, All Cards on the Table (Requesting Monthly Votes).

(The ending of the previous chapter has been slightly modified, worth taking a look.)

The thief adjusted his posture, swinging his weapon in rapid succession.

His blade movements were agile and varied, constantly trying to break through the opponent’s defense to strike at vital points.

Whereas Wu Heng, after having practiced swordsmanship for a long time,

demonstrated his adept ability to respond at this moment.

The sword moves were continuous, defending while simultaneously counterattacking swiftly.

...

Clang clang clang~!

Their weapons clashed nonstop.

The dense metallic symphony echoed through the night sky, sparks flying in all directions.

The longer the thief fought, the more terror-stricken he became, his eyes widening, his expression growing more incredulous.

At the beginning of the fight, maybe the opponent had used some method to increase his strength.

But as the battle continued,

the opponent’s strength and close combat response ability were in no way inferior to those of a warrior class.

Damn it.

Are the candidates for the association’s vice-executive now all so freakish?

Zzzt~!

The sound of electricity crackled, as silver-white lightning gathered once again and burst forth.

It struck the thief’s body, sending him flying backward.

So he’s really a mage!

Compared to the frequent psychological fluctuations of the thief,

Wu Heng gripped his longsword tightly, his heart filled only with the desire for battle.

[Burst Potential] was an ability unlocked from the Corpse Core, amplifying the attributes of constitution, strength, and agility, but also making the heart more impulsive.

Only by forcibly suppressing the urge to engage in slashing could he remember to attack using spells or firearms.

The thief was knocked away.

With a quick glance, Wu Heng swiftly surveyed the entire battlefield.

The fighting continued everywhere.

The skeleton attendants and ghosts were all tangled with their opponents, seemingly unable to kill them quickly.

He needed to quickly find a breakthrough.

To break the current deadlock.

The longer the time dragged on, the more dangerous it was for the other members of the association. Should they fail,

all pirates would come over, and his own situation would become even more perilous.

Bang bang bang~!

The submachine gun on his back was swung around to the front.

He fired off another burst at the position where the thief had been flung.

The thief, with a horrified face, rolled to avoid the bullets and tore open two scrolls. Walls of earth rose from the ground to cover him and a green light enveloped his body, healing his wounds.

Seeing the opponent shooting strange ammunition while charging at him,

the thief grew even more anxious, shouting, “How long do you all plan to drag this out? If I die, none of you will survive either.”

On the rooftop, the ranger entangled by ‘Kerim’ shouted as well. “Brigao, what are you doing?”

Tap tap tap~!

A figure, entirely charred black, ran out from an alleyway.

A shrill voice said, “I’m here!”

“Stick to the plan, kill the mage,” the ranger yelled loudly.

As he spoke,

the ranger and the Fist Master almost simultaneously tore open scrolls.

Vines grew from the ground, restraining ‘Skull Crusher’, and black tentacles shot out from the scrolls, entwining ‘Kerim’.

Meanwhile, the Dwarf Bomber quickly rushed to the vicinity.

He placed a large coffin with a human face in front of him. The lid opened sideways, and countless chains slithered out.

The others quickly dodged, and in an instant, the chains wrapped around two of the skeleton attendants.

The chains constricted, and in the blink of an eye, the two figures were pulled into the upright coffin, and with a bang, the lid closed tightly.

Witnessing this scene,

several pirates breathed a sigh of relief.

They exchanged glances, then charged together toward Wu Heng’s position.

The scene before him caused Wu Heng’s expression to change instantly.

These pirates had truly made ample preparations and even had a plan to restrain the skeleton attendants before killing him.

The armored warrior charged ahead, the Fist Master a half step behind, the ranger rushed on the rooftops, with the thief waiting for an opportunity.

The all-charred black Dwarf Bomber maintained a distance at the rear.

A standard five-member squad.

Three for melee combat, one for long-range, and one for scouting with additional long-range output.

Using the tactical formation created by the association, the pirates were now using it against him.

This really was infuriating!

Wu Heng quickly pondered his next move.

His own equipment, firearms, or play the role of a bomber by throwing out all the hand grenades from his Space Ring.

This continued delay was still to his disadvantage.

“There’s an alley on the left!” Glenda flew back and whispered.

Wu Heng turned and darted into an alley on one side.

The five pirates quickly converged and charged in after him.

After having been delayed for no short amount of time, they were keen to take advantage of the five-on-one situation and retrieve all the humiliation they had suffered before.

But just as they charged in,

Gurgle gurgle~!

Several hand grenades were thrown out from inside.

“Dodge!” the warrior shouted.

The group scattered in an instant, and the explosion sounded, filling the alley with dust.

“He’s here, stop him!” a villager wielding a curved blade shouted.

Then, two more men armed with weapons approached.

Bang bang bang~!

Wu Heng raised his gun to fire.

The three who attempted to block his way fell to the ground instantly.

[Corpse Battlefield] was released, and three skeletons slowly stood up.

Wu Heng handed a longsword to one of the skeletons and said, “Glenda, take control and get me out of here.”

“Understood!”

Glenda’s consciousness separated and took over the flesh, quickly creating distance.

Two skeletons rushed toward the pirates in the alley.

They were immediately shattered by the pirates they faced.

Five shadows chased after them swiftly, with Wu Heng controlling the skeletons and leaping atop a wall, eyeing the position of the five.

He swiftly drew his longsword, standing frozen in place.

Swoosh~swoosh!

Two silvery sword lights flashed by,

A silvery sword light flashed by, slicing through the necks of the ranger aiming his bow and the warrior charging with his sword.

Gurgle!

A head rolled off the rooftop, and another fell to the ground.

The remaining few narrowed their eyes, stopping their movements in an instant.

Only horrified gazes were fixed on the longsword in the opposite skeleton’s hand.

Silent Blade Evil Sword.

Damn, it turned out to be that kid from the auction.

The consciousness returned.

Wu Heng turned his head, noting that of the five pursuers, only one had died.

So quick to react? Did they instantly realize the weapon’s characteristic of standing still?

“Uncle, that little old man throwing bombs wasn’t frozen, he’s about to run away,” Xiao Xiao, responsible for reconnaissance, flew over and quickly reported.

The dwarf hadn’t entered the weapon’s range?

“Where? Show me,” Wu Heng said, as he avoided the weapon and leaped onto a rooftop, taking out his sniper rifle.

This kind of long-range killing was what he excelled at the most.

“There!” Xiao Xiao pointed out.

In the dark of night, a short figure was frantically running away.

Bang!

The gunshot resounded.

The escaping dwarf suddenly felt a pain in his back, and his entire body was pushed forward by a force.

Then came the intense pain.

His body fell to the ground instantly, as blood oozed from the wound.

Bang bang!

Before he could take out an elixir, two more blasts sounded.

His body and the back of his head exploded, plummeting him into darkness.

Jumping down from the rooftop, his gaze returned to the alley.

Inside the alley, only the fist master and the thief remained.

Regret was rising in their hearts by this time.

They could have never guessed that a vice-executive from Gold and Silver Island would turn the battle to this extent.

The prey they had carefully lured into the village had suddenly become the hunter.

Three of the five were already dead.

With no thought left of combat and their gaze shifting uncertainly,

They saw Wu Heng appear once again.

The thief said quietly, “Wu Heng, we were in the wrong on this matter. I’m willing to offer enough compensation to buy my own life. We’re part of a large pirate group, we can give you a lot of money.”

Wu Heng exited the [Burst Potential] state, feeling both powerless and overcome with fatigue spreading through his body.

Sitting down across from them, he asked, “There’s no evil cult here?”

The thief immediately shut his mouth.

Wu Heng raised his hand, bang bang, two bullets shot out, striking the thief’s body immediately.

His body shook violently, and as the cold light of the Evil Sword swept by, a head fell to the ground.

Wu Heng then turned to the pirate fist master and asked, “There’s no evil cult here?”

The fist master’s face showed a mixture of shock and doubt, and through gritted teeth, he answered, “No?”

“You set up this whole scenario to lure me out and kill me?” Wu Heng asked again.

With an elusive glance, the fist master replied, “Yes, it was all organized by the Hand of the Demon. I was drawn in by the bounty, I have nothing personal against you.”

“So, does that mean the local association also has your arrangements, to ask the Gold and Silver Island association for help?”

“I don’t know that, it’s all arranged by the Hand of the Demon.” The fist master continued, “I’ve told you everything I know, now you can let me go, right?”

“When did I say I would let you go!” Wu Heng raised his sub machine gun.

Bang bang bang~!

Bullets whistled out, and the man’s expression turned to shock.

He dodged swiftly at his feet.

As the sword light flashed, another head fell to the ground.

All five pirates were dead, their bodies strewn across the alley.

“Sheathe the sword!”

The distant skeleton sheathed the sword.

As the cold light passed, a skeleton head dropped, and the body crumbled into a pile of bones.

The battle was over.

The place was in complete disarray.

Wu Heng tilted back his head and gulped down two doses of the elixir, easing some of the fatigue that plagued both his body and spirit.

“Glenda, go check how the squad is doing. Xiao Xiao, keep watch over our surroundings for me,” Wu Heng instructed.

“Understood!”

Two ghostly figures dispersed, one returning to where they had previously resided.

The other climbed in altitude to keep watch of the surrounding area.

Wu Heng also stood up, pulling all of the bodies in front of him.

The battle was not over yet; he still didn’t know the situation with Xi Ligui and the others.

He removed the Space Ring and the Silent Blade Evil Sword, storing them away, then consecutively cast [Bone Manipulation Skill].

Five corpses slowly stood up.
