Chapter 207
That afternoon, Victoria returned to the dormitory and received a letter.
The sender was Beatrice.
Victoria smiled brightly as she grabbed the letter and unfolded it.
The letter was filled with concerns, asking if Victoria was living properly.
While Victoria was crying as she read the letter, she didn’t realize it, but from my perspective, reading the letter through Victoria’s eyes, there was a big issue.
The letter lacked information about Beatrice and Morris. It only briefly mentioned not to worry about what had happened in Vern City. At the very least, shouldn’t they have written something about where they were and what they were doing?
But there was nothing else written.
However, it seemed that was enough for Victoria.
Her face was full of smiles.
Of course, since this is from Victoria’s perspective, it’s not entirely accurate. But just from the way her expression brightened and the tone of her voice changed, I could tell.
She was in a good mood.
Yes. I’m glad.
Even though she had fought and returned without getting what she wanted, it was probably because she rushed in unnecessarily that she suffered.
Still, knowing she’s safe is good enough.
By the way, it’s evening now. Victoria is in the dormitory, and I’m at my place.
From my lodging, I always look at the world from the perspective of the harvest period.
There have been a few changes in the capital.
First, the rankings of the newspapers have shifted, and people have changed which newspapers they’re reading. The newspaper stands are scattered around, so when a newspaper changes, it’s easy to spot.
Also, the wind-up machines, which used to carry goods or people, have almost disappeared. After the national broadcast aired the truth that three companies had been hiding, many machines were destroyed.
Especially, the power units that had caused the issues have mostly disappeared, and many homes have started using wood for heating again.
The landscape of the capital has changed.
What do you think?
