Chapter 347: Chapter 361 Enemy Intelligence

“Great!” Bruto slapped his thigh upon hearing this, “We should have done this earlier!”

“You sure about this?” Kamoen hesitated as he looked at Lancelot, “The enemies are three High Rank Priestesses…”

“Didn’t we just lose one?” Lancelot smiled, “We still have four experienced companions in the inn, and I had them set up traps in the room this morning because I was worried something might happen to you. If your kinsmen really dare to follow us here, they will certainly run into trouble.”

Hearing this, Kamoen stopped worrying, nodded, and his eyes once again ignited with fighting spirit.

Lancelot led the others quickly towards ‘The Goblet Goblin’ inn, meanwhile he contacted his comrades using the small device Kalalin had given him. He briefly explained the imminent battle, asked everyone to be prepared, and also momentarily disabled the traps near the windows to allow entry.

A moment later, the group arrived at the inn’s ground floor. It was already late into the night by then, with only a few dim lights illuminating the vast darkness, Lancelot easily activated Shadow Jump and directly re-entered the room through a window.

“Brother! You’re back!” Little Isha was the first to run over, clutching her bedroom, “Uncle Kalalin said you encountered a battle, are you okay?”

“Nothing serious.” Lancelot patted the little vampire’s head and took the Dimensional Bag tied around his waist, “But there’s another battle coming soon. Hmm, I’ll have a task for you in a bit…”

“Come on, whether there’s trouble or not, let’s have a bottle first.” Koula approached as well, carrying a bag filled with healing potions, “Take a couple more bottles and put them on your belt, it’ll be handy later…”

“Bruto, you seem to be poisoned?” Elothysia exclaimed in surprise as she stared at the dwarf, her hands emitting a golden light gently pressing on his shoulder, “I know you dwarves have a natural resistance to toxins… Feeling any better?”

“I was wondering why I got so tired after running for a while, hmm, it does feel much better now.” Bruto shook his head, “Strange, when did I get poisoned?”

Kamoen’s mouth was wide open as he watched Elothysia’s actions, his face filled with surprise. He had seen his fair share of succubi, but he had never heard of a Succubus Paladin before.@@novelbin@@

“Hello, my name is Elothysia.” The succubus noticed his gaze and greeted him openly, “You must be the Dark Elf spy, right? It seems we have quite a bit in common…”

“Greetings, beautiful lady, uh, ladies and gentlemen,” Kamoen bowed to everyone, “My name is Kamoen, Kamoen Durgnis. I truly wish we could have met under better circumstances, but my kinsmen could attack this place at any moment. They have a special kind of magic that allows them to pinpoint my location through our blood relation.”

“The enemies are a group of Zoel? How strong are they? Any High Rank Priestesses?” Kalalin asked concernedly. Zoel Elves are one of the most dangerous enemies among all races, their assault teams have left horror stories in many places.

“Yes, there should be three more, plus dozens of well-equipped, highly skilled noble warriors,” Kamoen said, his voice increasingly uncertain, “I’m really sorry for causing you all this trouble…”

“Hey, what’s this about?” Bruto patted the elf on the back, “When we have time, I’ll tell you how we rescued Elothysia…”

“How capable are those three high-rank priests in casting spells? Do you know?” Kalalin didn’t pay attention to Bruto’s interruption, “What is the highest circle of magic they can cast?”

“Seventh Circle,” Kamoen immediately responded, noticing Kalalin’s expression turning swiftly grim. He quickly added, “Only Matriarch Belmanis has that capability; her two daughters can only cast up to the fifth circle of Divine Arts.”

Kalalin and Alamir exchanged glances, both seeing the worry in each other’s eyes. The enemy spellcasters’ rank far exceeded their own; this was indeed terrible news. Scholar, as if thinking of something, hurried to his backpack and pulled out an unusually thick bundle of scrolls.

“This is a spell to avoid detection, which can block divination magic within a certain range from spying. This might not stop your blood kin from locating you through blood magic, but they will be unable to discern what’s happening inside this room,” Kalalin unrolled the scroll, the magic runes on it flickering like stars, “This spell requires diamond powder as a material; the larger the area, the more it needs. To make this scroll, it took diamonds worth three thousand Gold Coins, but I truly hope we never have to use it…”

The Scholar certainly did not cut corners on this scroll; the dark red spiritual light of defense spells covered every room on this floor.

“Effective time, eight hours; I hope the enemies don’t delay too long,” Kalalin clapped his hands and then cast alert spells in each room. Once the fighting begins, it was bound to be crowded here, making it difficult for him to cast his spells, so better use them all now.

“How will the enemies get in?” Bruto asked, “Break in through the window like us? Or through that service lift over there?”

“Unlikely; people are sitting ducks while ascending in that,” Alamir shook his head, “Their side has three priests; I guess they’ll most likely use Earth Walking or phase transition to come straight through the walls.”

“I’ll point out the locations of the traps for you,” Koula hurriedly said. “Don’t step on them yourselves… By the way, are you hungry? Should we eat something first?”

“We Dark Elves usually coat our weapons with poison, a potent sleeping poison extracted from spider venom,” Kamoen offered more enemy details as possible, “We better prepare in advance…”

“Thanks for the heads-up; everyone should carry a bottle of this on their belts too,” the Halfling alchemist pulled out another pile of dark green potions, “You can smell this now; it should slow the effectiveness of the poison, giving you enough time to drink it…”

The potion’s smell was like having ice cubes stuffed up one’s nose, leaving a profound impression. Everyone was tensely making final preparations. Spellcasters were casting various strengthening Divine Arts on their companions; warriors checked their weapons and armor. Lancelot was sitting in the middle of the living room, facing the only open window, with Frostslash laid flat on his laps, his breathing gradually becoming calm and lengthy.

He entered the state of Spiritual Sight, keeping an eye on everything around.
