Chapter 328: 177 Damn it (first update)_3
Officer Tong informed the fourth prince: “Your Highness, a girl attacked me in the street when I tried to question her, and she even fought back.”
The fourth prince’s gaze landed on the chunky swelling on Officer Tong’s left cheek. “So, you’re telling me you were beaten by a girl?”
Officer Tong shamefully lowered his head.@@novelbin@@
The second boss hadn’t yet figured out who the fourth prince was. He started: “Young Master, here’s what happened. Our medical hall just opened, we’re not very familiar with the Capital City. We treated a patient that upset this gentleman here, who picked a fight with our doctor, and even called for backup.”
“Four… Your…” As the guard began to speak, the menacing glare of the fourth prince silenced him. He stammered: “Your Highness, they treated Liu Yisheng!”
The Liu family once plotted against the fourth prince’s late Emperor father. How could the fourth prince allow the descendants of Liu to be treated?
Stinking girl, you’re dead meat!
“Who treated him? This lady?” The fourth prince’s eyes slowly fell onto Gu Jiao. He narrowed his eyes and a cryptic smile played on his lips. “If the girl does not know who Liu Yisheng is, it’s fine if she has treated him.”
The guard was stunned.
What did the fourth prince mean by this?
Didn’t he despise the Liu family the most?
Last time, a rice merchant sold a few catties of good rice to the Liu family, and as a result, the fourth prince smashed his shop.
However, Officer Tong understood the true thoughts of his master.
There’s a popular saying amongst the city’s influential circles – the fourth prince has a thing for slender waists.
Although the girl is not particularly pleasing to the eye with that big red birthmark on her face, her waist is indeed thin.
The fourth prince obviously fancied her.
The fourth prince guided his horse to stand in front of Gu Jiao. He looked down at her from his high vantage point on horseback, leaning forward with a smile on his face: “May I ask your name, miss?”
Gu Jiao ignored him and walked away.
A grey-clothed martial artist from the imperial guard got off his horse and blocked her way.
Gu Jiao: “Out of my way.”
The martial artist: “Answer my master.”
The threat from the remaining three guards was palpable as they gazed at Gu Jiao.
Gu Jiao slowly advanced a few steps towards the fourth prince and met his eyes.
The fourth prince smiled, ready to hear her name. He didn’t expect her to abruptly pull him off his horse. Deftly, she mounted the horse and galloped away!
The fourth prince didn’t know what hit him. ‘…’
Furious, he shouted: “Chase her down!”
All four martial artists simultaneously dashed towards Gu Jiao.
Frankly speaking, this was Gu Jiao’s first time riding a horse and her riding skills were rather raw. It didn’t take long for the guards to catch up with her.
Gu Jiao abandoned her horse and, using her bare hands, climbed onto the rooftops while passing through an alley.
She jumped lightly, aiming to use the curtains draped from a horse carriage to swing herself forward, and then to toss the silver needles in her hand.
Little did Gu Jiao know that this was the horse carriage of Lord Xuanping.
Lord Xuanping was currently lounging on his luxurious soft couch, comfortably eating winter jujube.
Chang Jing was looking for something outside. He had lost his hidden weapon – the pellet. Even after looking around he couldn’t find it. Frustrated, he stood up from his seat and lifted the horse carriage’s curtains.
“Ah!”
Gu Jiao stumbled and fell down!
Lord Xuanping got a taste of what an unexpected disaster looks like.
Her foot landed squarely on his handsome face. He tumbled off the couch, finally coming to a halt on the ground – an unexpected human cushion.
Gu Jiao was a tad disoriented.
She tilted her head.
Huh?
It didn’t hurt.
Lord Xuanping, however, was in excruciating pain!
His old back—maintained through years of care—
Chang Jing! How many times have I told you not to randomly pull up the carriage curtains!
But alas, he couldn’t voice his exasperation, as he was choking on a jujube!
What do you think?
