Chapter 1314  Brothers

"Put your hands on the floor!"

"Don't you dare to move!"

"Arrest them!"

They kept shouting while pointing their guns at Ethan and Lory.

"Hey, that woman is mine!" The Dragxtarn bark loudly.

"I'm married, listen to me once!" Lory threw a smoke bomb at them and then fired a few shots to break the siege then charged toward one of the security guards, Lory then sneakily pulled the pin on the bomb tied to their waist and then quickly jumped back, swiftly pushed Ethan behind the desk as the bomb exploded and blew up the whole office wall.

It was at that time Lory took this chance to escape with Ethan.

Seeing Ethan run away Elena shouts at the top of her lungs "Ethan Stop!"

But of course, Ethan ignored her, there was no way he would listen to her after everything she did to him. Ethan ran as fast as he could without bothering to look back.

"Shoot them - Shoot them!" one of the security guards ordered as he fired a barrage of shots at Lory and Ethan but fortunately the thick white smoke from the smoke bombs obstructed their breathing and vision, reducing their aiming accuracy.

[Lory, where are you? Are you okay?!] Zhao Li Xin queried with a hint of anxiety.

Lory released another shot at the enemy before replying, "I'm fine honey, I'm in the Aeon Institute building and there's a little problem here, It's no—" Suddenly a bullet grazed her shoulder luckily Lory was wearing armor, but it was still annoying.

"Dam*it!" Lory cursed then put down her phone to shoot back the enemy and managed to hit two of them.

The angry security forces rained down a barrage of attacks on Lory, causing Lory to retreat behind the wall, at that moment, Lory took back her phone and spoke in a coaxing tone, [Honey, I'm a bit busy, can you call me back later?~]

Lory rolled her eyes, wondering why no one was listening to her "I don't like bald men!" Yes, the Dragxtarn is a big - bald - muscular man.

Lory threw another bomb right at the bald Dragxtarn but it was quickly deflected and the bomb blew up the wall beside him, unfortunately injuring some of the unaware security.

"The elevator is here!" Ethan shouted excitedly.

Lory pulled back her shot and rushed towards the elevator, once she entered Ethan pressed the close button repeatedly again. As the elevator went down Lory looked up and let out a long sigh, but then she realized her phone was still connected "Honey, Li Xin?" Lory stared at the disconnected phone with a worried expression because she knew she had really angered Zhao Li Xin and this would not end well. Lory remembered that one time in the past Zhao Li Xin was so angry he locked her inside a spatial ring, but since his spatial ring was broken, that plan could not be feasible anymore but maybe...maybe he would lock her inside a room, put her to bed, tight her up and then... wait, that doesn't sound too bad.

"I'll be there soon, don't get hurt... or else" Zhao Li Xin spoke briskly after that he hung up.

Lory stared at the disconnected phone with a worried expression because she knew she had really angered Zhao Li Xin and this would not end well. Lory remembered that one time in the past Zhao Li Xin was so angry he locked her inside a spatial ring, but since his spatial ring was broken, that plan could not be feasible anymore but maybe...maybe he would lock her inside a room, put her to bed, tight her up and then... wait, that doesn't sound too bad.

"O - okay," Lory glanced at Ethan then reinserted the magazine of her gun. After that, the grip panel turned red which meant her gun was ready to use again. Once her gun was ready, Lory checked how many bombs she had left, to her disappointment, she only had one smoke bomb.

"This is not good" she mumbles softly.

The elevator doors opened as they reached the first floor, they were about to get out but suddenly the elevator shook, like a big rock had fallen on top of the elevator. Lory and Ethan reflexively looked up, Ethan frowned in confusion, "What the hell is tha—" Lory's eyes widened, she knew what was happening "GET OUT!" she pushed Ethan out, and together they jumped out just a second before the elevator exploded.

Ethan covered his head screaming as debris flew above him, once everything seemed to cool down Ethan lowered his arms and stared in shock at the gray smoke coming out of the elevator. However, Lory didn't have time to let Ethan calm down, she grabbed Ethan's arm and spoke urgently "Get up - Get up, hurry, we have to get out of here!"

Ethan, who was still in a state of shock, unconsciously got up from the floor. He stared at Lory blankly without saying a word. Ethan didn't know how many times he had almost died today and the only reason why he was still alive was because of the girl beside him.

"Let's go!" Lory hit Ethan's chest to start running. Suddenly, a plasma beam shot towards them, luckily Lory was quick enough to kick Ethan before he got shot. Ethan fell to the side on the floor while Lory knelt down and fired her gun at the source of the shot, not wanting to waste bullets, Lory stopped shooting and waited.

Soon after a giant bald man appeared from the smoke, grinning from ear to ear "Hey little kitten, why are you running from me, I just wanna talk to you," he licks his lips ostentatiously.

Lory raised her index finger, "First, ew...second, I'M MAR - RIED! Do people not respect the institution of marriage anymore!" Lory vexed.

The Dragxtarn snorts "No one ever does!"

Ethan also gives a half shrug implying he agrees with the Dragxtarn.

Suddenly they were hit by another explosion followed by another explosion and another...Lory remembered that the time given by Garrof was up, so Plan D for 'Destruction' began.

Ethan closed his eyes while covering his ears but Lory pulled him to hide under the table meanwhile debris and rocks flew around them.

"Aah, I hate this!" Ethan screamed in exasperation and fear while Lory gritted her teeth thinking that she had maxed out her explosive quota for the day, she also couldn't take it anymore, her ears were starting to hurt now! Nevertheless, she forced herself to locate where the bald Dragxtarn was.

Much to his dismay, the Dragxtarn conveniently hid behind the plasma gun that transformed into a shield.

'So not fair!" Lory protests inwardly.

Anyway, Lory didn't have time to be sad, because the whole building started to collapse. Therefore, they had to get out of there before she was buried under the rubble. Although she might not be dead, but her sexy husband wouldn't like it if he found out and It would take a long time to coax him. As they say, all beauties have a temper!

Lory saw a glimmer of light from behind the glass wall a few meters away from them but it was blocked by the debris of the pillars and ceiling, but it seemed like the only way "Here!" Lory dragged Ethan who was resigned to being pulled by Lory through the ceiling and falling debris.

Dragxtarn once again fired a plasma shot at her, unfortunately, this time Lory couldn't avoid it. Lory hugged Ethan protecting him from the plasma shot. At that terrifying moment, a pair of white wings spread from her back and swallowed Lory and Ethan safely as they were thrown against the wall wreckage and glass windows

Lory and Ethan plunged to the ground and rolled freely, but because Lory forcefully used mana to summon Girsha's wings, the Mana Deterrent device reacted soon after Lory coughed up blood.

Lory's coughing finally subsided but her head was spinning like crazy as if she had a severe migraine, everything around her was spinning but she refused to show her weakness. Lory wiped the blood from her mouth, she lifted her head and then looked at Dragxtarn defiantly. The Dragxtarn sneers "I don't know who you are and I don't care but you will die here!" He pointed his arm's gun at Lory. Lory clenched her fists as she used the last of her strength to erect a barrier, hopefully strong enough. The Dragxtarn fired a plasma shot, and Lory tried to summon an ice barrier but the Mana deterrent device reacted causing her to cough up blood again. Lory thought she was finished but then a transparent barrier shielded her from the plasma shot.

Lory and Ethan were dumbfounded, and not long after two men jumped in front of them.

Lory saw their tall back, her eyes bulged widely soon a wide smile bloomed on her face
