The Prodigies War

Chapter 2108: Man, Dog, and Boat

“That boy deserves to be hacked into pieces!” Old Monk Duming was so angry that his body was visibly shaking.

As a ninth-level Emperor, he had an unshakably strong state of mind, but now, he found himself overwhelmed by frustration and troubled thoughts. The suffocating weight of it all was so much that he felt he might cough up blood.

Only two days remained until the Magnificent Lotus Event.

However, at this point, not only had they failed to capture Fangchun Mountain disciple Lin Xun, but had also allowed him to cause such chaos, turmoil and carnage in the Yunhua Region.

This felt like a direct slap to the face of Earth Treasury Realm!

Cultivators from all major forces had now gathered in Thousand Star City. When they find out about this matter, how would they view their Earth Treasury Realm?

“Martial Uncle, the sect leader and a group of high-ranking clan members have already set out!” someone reported.

Old Monk Duming went quiet for a moment, his expression flickering. “Just to capture and kill a little bastard, our sect had to deploy so many important people… Embarrassing!” he sighed.

In fact, just as Old Monk Duming had predicted, after learning about the chaos that Lin Xun had caused, whether it was the Great Six Courts, Great Ten Battle Clans, or the ancient imperial clans, after the initial shock, they could not hide their glee.

Earth Treasury Realm was one of the Three Dark Giants, wielding power that was feared by all the worlds in the Ancient Nebula Road.

Now, on their territory, they failed to do anything to a disciple of Fangchun Mountain. This was no doubt shameful to them.

“A series of facts have proven that even in a situation where Lin Xun is standing alone against the world, he possesses the strength to give any ancient orthodoxy a headache!” someone sighed.

“That boy has grown too fast. It has been less than a year since the trip to the Ancient Immortal Forbidden Zone ended, yet he already has the heaven-defying power to stir up a storm and kill Emperors. How terrifying is that?” another sighed.

“If that boy is not killed, he will become a serious threat to us all!”

“Don’t worry, as long as Heavenly Emperor Shi is in the Ancient Nebula Road, Lin Xun can’t cause trouble for too long.”

“Alas, what worries me is that if that boy ascends the dao and becomes an Emperor...then is there anyone in this world who can do anything to him?”

……

While the entire Underworld was stunned by Lin Xun’s ‘feat’ and in heated discussion about it, the sect leader of Earth Treasury Realm as well as a group of high-ranking members came to the Yunhua Region together.

The lineup was astonishing, as if the very core of Earth Treasury Realm’s power had been dispatched!

Unfortunately, when they set out, Lin Xun had already left the Yunhua Region.

This left everyone in Earth Treasury Realm feeling frustrated. Lin Xun had stirred up so much chaos and brought them so much embarrassment, only to vanish without a trace. It was utterly maddening. Ȓ₳₦ố𐌱ЁꞨ

No matter what, amidst the turbulence, chaos, and clamor, the highly anticipated Magnificent Lotus Event kicked off as scheduled, drawing the attention of the entire world.

Rumors said that Old Monk Duming, a grand elder of Earth Treasury Realm, who presided over the event, wore a gloomy expression throughout the event and never once broke into a smile from beginning to end.

Rumors said that the major ancient orthodoxies were discussing plans to hunt down and capture Fangchun Mountain disciple Lin Xun.

However, in the end, they failed to come up with a clear and effective course of action.

The reason for that was very simple. Lin Xun, who now possessed the strength to kill Emperors, was no longer easy to bully. Ordinary Emperors were simply no match for him!

The most troublesome thing was that his movements were erratic and unpredictable. He was skilled in hiding and disguising himself, which made it difficult to find any clues when tracking him down….

It was said that at the Magnificent Lotus Event, a secret meeting was held between the major forces, and they uncovered some secrets related to the Eternal Supremacy Road!

……

This all had nothing to do with Lin Xun.

After causing a huge disturbance in the Yunhua Region, he left and headed to the Dark Lair, following the route according to the map in the Guiding Copper Mirror.

Half a month later.

On the borders of Xiheng Region lay a vast surging sea called the Uncertain Blood Sea.

Lin Xun stood alone on the peak of a steep, staring at the blood-red sea that seemed to stretch endlessly. A frown tugged his brows.

The map in the Guiding Copper Mirror led him here.

However, this was clearly not the Dark Lair.

“Dark Lair is known as the origin of Fog Obscured Alms. To this day, no one has been able to find this place without a guide...” Lin Xun muttered to himself.

The Xiheng Region, one of the thirty-three regions in the Ancient Nebula Underworld, was controlled by Copper Sparrow House, one of the Three Dark Giants.

The Uncertain Blood Sea before Lin Xun was called the Land of Absolute Death by the locals. Since ancient times, any cultivator who entered this sea was certain to never return, only death awaited them, with no hope of survival.

It was said that in the depths of Uncertain Blood Sea lurked terrifying Primordial Fiend Spirits, which were said to be monsters formed from the vengeful aura of Emperors after their death. After countless years of transformation, they each had become terrifying beings.

Of course, this was just a rumor, but it was enough to indicate that Uncertain Blood Sea was a very dangerous place.

At this moment, the only thing that Lin Xun was uncertain of was whether the Dark Lair of Fog Obscured Alms was within Uncertain Blood Sea.

The sea was roiling violently, with waves surging in crimson layers. The sky was stained with a blood-red hue, creating an eerie and foreboding atmosphere.

The cold sea breeze was mixed with a hint of murderous spirit.

Huh?

Lin Xun was taken by surprise when he saw a small boat on the water, sailing against the wind and waves. On the boat stood a man, his appearance ragged, with a wine gourd dangling from his waist and his hair in disarray.

His eyes were clouded with drunkenness, while his nose flushed deep red. He stood languidly with a wooden sword nestled in his arms, his eyes barely open, as if he was about to doze off.

Lin Xun’s pupils shrank.

The man who looked disheveled like a drunkard exuded not a hint of intimidating power, yet gave off a deadly and dangerous aura!

Just one look at him was enough to send a chill through Lin Xun and make his hair stand on end.

However, before Lin Xun snapped out of his shocked state, a big yellow dog suddenly leaped out from beside the drunk man.

With a proud stance, the dog raised his head, eyes gleaming like copper bells, watching Lin Xun with incomparable pride.

“Awoo!”

The big yellow dog let out a loud bark, which sounded more like the howl of a wolf than a dog’s bark.

Lin Xun was stunned. It was just a dog, yet the pride, superiority, haughtiness it radiated gave the impression that it was the greatest of all.

“Kid, why are you standing there? Hurry up and get over here!” The big yellow dog grumbled, its face a clear expression of frustration and impatience.

Lin Xun turned his gaze toward the drunkard-like man, just in time to see him down a mouthful from the wine gourd. After a loud burp, he smiled and said, “Is it strange?”

Lin Xun nodded.

The scene was indeed too strange and unusual. Out of nowhere on the unpredictably dangerous Uncertain Blood Sea, a man and a dog appeared on a boat. Who would not be surprised?

The drunk man asked, “You came here for the Dark Lair, am I right?”@@novelbin@@

Lin Xun’s heart jolted. “You guys...are you from Fog Obscured Alms?”

“I guess so.”

The drunk man hung the wine gourd back at his waist and wiped the wine stains from his lips with a swipe of his hand. “Come on, we have been waiting for you for a long time.”

Lin Xun frowned, hesitating.

Swoosh!

All of a sudden, the big yellow dog appeared in front of him, his eyes filled with a mysterious depth. “Kid, do you know that I almost broke into the Earth Treasury Realm’s old lair for you? Of course, you are too young and won’t understand, nor do you need to understand. You only need to understand that you are only able to arrive here safe and sound because of me…”

He extended a paw and pointed at himself, saying each word with a distinct pause, “It’s all thanks to me.” His voice was laced with arrogance and superiority.

The corner of Lin Xun’s lips twitched. This dog is so arrogant. Whether it is its actions, words, or even the aura it exudes, there is an unmistakable arrogance and domineering attitude. He makes people want to slaughter and eat him.

“Let’s go.”

Before waiting for Lin Xun to react, the big yellow dog stretched out its paws, picked up Lin Xun and rushed back onto the small boat.

Lin Xun broke out in cold sweat.

He was attacked by a dog, but he couldn’t even react or put up any resistance!

The next moment, his gaze changed when he looked at the big yellow dog.

The drunk man laughed heartily. “Kid, in the Underworld, all Emperors are aware of a secret truth but they never openly acknowledge it. Do you know what it is?”

As he spoke, the boat they were on surged forward, riding the waves without any visible movements from him, roaring into the depths of Uncertain Blood Sea, like a bolt of lightning. Its speed was unimaginable.

Lin Xun slowly regained his composure. He had realized that although the man and the dog were so powerful that he could not fathom, they seemed to have no bad intent towards him.

“What is it?” asked Lin Xun.

The drunkard smiled. “They would rather offend the King of Hell than Big Yellow.”

Big Yellow.

Lin Xun glanced over at the dog crouched on the bow with its head held high, a feeling of doubt stirring within him. Does this dog really hold such power that even Emperors in the Underworld fear it?

“There’s nothing I hate more in life than seeing a doubtful look like yours.”

The big yellow dog turned around and glared at Lin Xun. “If you weren’t...forget it, I can’t be bothered to argue with a kid like you. If it was an Emperor, I would have killed them already for that doubtful look.”

The corners of Lin Xun’s lips twitched again. He had never met such an arrogant dog in his life. It looked down on people, no, it was so arrogant that it looked down on even Emperors!

Lin Xun ignored the big yellow dog that was so annoying that it made him want to give it a beating. He turned to the drunk man and gave a cupped fist salute.

“Elder, may I ask your name?”

“I am not worthy of being called Elder.” The drunkard waved his hand dismissively. “Little Friend, just call me…um…Drunkard.”

Drunkard?

Lin Xun looked more and more confused. An unfathomable man who made him feel an overwhelming sense of danger when he first laid eyes on him was definitely not just a drunkard.

“What about him?”

Lin Xun couldn’t help but look at the big yellow dog again. A dog so proud wouldn’t have a common name, right?

The big yellow dog raised its head high and was about to speak, but the drunkard man spoke first, “Just call it Big Yellow!”

Instantly, the big yellow dog’s face darkened, looking as black as the bottom of a burnt pot.
