Chapter 280: First Trial Done, Time For Some Rest

Once teleported into the Waiting Lobby, we found ourselves resting over some comfortable couches, surrounding a large table with snacks and drinks. The sky was blue, and the ground was like water, but we could step over it. I think this was the same space we found ourselves into when we entered this Trial Tower made by Master.
Also, this area had some sort of special effect, as Ki was overflowing from everywhere, a healing kind of Ki mixed with healing flames of Hope; this made it, so our wounds were healed and our Ki reserves completely refilled within minutes.
Fang Shuan’s soul recovered as well after I fed him a lot of Soul Wine, I also drank a little. My soul was quite weak after overusing its powers by fusing it with my Aura, something that’s rather dangerous, as damage to the aura would also become soul damage…
I did quite the big gamble there, but at the end, we came on top. It took much longer than I imagined, but the first floor was completed just like I wanted.
“Zzzz…”
After eating her fill and going to the bathroom, which was right by the left, Wai Tian was dozing off over my legs, purring cutely while sleeping.
At the same time, Yin Sheng was doing the same by the other side; I had two very fluffy friends with me, and I was in quite the bliss.
They were so soft and fluffy that I couldn’t stop caressing their heads!
Am I a pervert to them for wanting that?
After all, they’re not animals but people now…
I mean, they don’t mind it if they’re letting me do it, right?
I hope so…
“It has been an hour already; when is she coming back?” wondered Fang Shuan. “I understand that what we did was incredible and all, but how come the heavenly empress was never prepared for that?”
“It just happened; I guess she never truly guessed we would go for such a ridiculous route,” I said. “But that probably means she was not aware of the full extent of my abilities—no, of our abilities.”
“Perhaps,” nodded Fang Shuan.
“Let’s just wait patiently; I think she’s coming soon,” said Zero One with a gentle smile.
“Hmm, I suppose,” Fang Shuan sat down and continued drinking Soul Wine, the only food he could drink and taste properly aside from other souls. “This Soul Wine, master, is very delicious. How did you even make this?”
“Oh, it is made from souls themselves, which go through a special change once poured inside Ramses Urn, an artifact from the Egyptian Pantheon of Constellations,” I said.
“I-I see… I am still learning about these things, so thank you for informing me.” he nodded.
POOF!
And just as we were going to take a nap, something appeared, or, well, someone.
“I’m back… How have you been? I deeply apologize for taking so long with the rewards and everything. You see, because of your incredible feat, I had to consult my creator in person about what to do! There was nothing within my registers and pre-made memory that could tell me what to do, you see,” she sighed. “Nonetheless, it has been solved. Master has personally rearranged things for you, and we can now continue smoothly.”
“Really? That’s so nice of her!” Zero One said happily.
“Yeah, I feel a bit bad for doing that…” I said. “I mean, for doing the most awesome ending imaginable, very sorry, haha…”
“You are allowed to get cocky; I suppose…” The Tower Master sighed. “A-Anyways, there you go.”
FLUOSH!
A set of golden letters appeared before our eyes.
[You have completed Floor 1’s Mission]: {Pick a Side, and Win!} through the {Hidde Condition}: {Pick no Sides, and Win}!]
[You’ve done the impossible and have not only defeated both factions in time, but even made both the Heavenly Demon and the Heavenly Empress admit your strength and agree to help you!]
[Through your sheer power, you’ve changed the past and have managed to make it so both factions have become the allies of a new, third faction.]
[Preparing them for a future where they’ll need to work together, you have achieved an incredible feat never thought before or considered as a possibility.]
[Anna, you’ve truly surprised me this time- No, all of you, in fact. Well done, truly, excellently done.]
[Because of your incredible feat, you’ve received the best rewards possible, plus a little bonus.]
[You Have Received The Following Rewards]: [Divine Hope KI Pill (S Rank)] x30 [Divine Body Refinement Pill (S Rank)] x30 [Divine Martial Core Refinement Pill (S Rank)] x30 [Martial Arts Enhancing Scroll: Heart of Hope (S+ Rank)] x10 [Martial Arts Enhancing Scroll: Blank (S+ Rank)] x10 [Spirit Body Refinement Pill (S Rank)] x10 (Bonus!) [Golden Heaven Pearl (S++ Rank)] x3 (Bonus!) [Golden Heavenly Crane of Hope Necklace (S Rank)] x1 (Bonus!)]
Apparently, everyone received their own set of items, and they were slightly personalized based on contribution too. I saw several piles of items materialize for everyone here, but I think I received the largest of them all.
Like, come on, it even includes a Yellow Heaven Pearl—no, three of them at that!
Actually, there was so much stuff; aside from this special necklace, everything else was amazing.
Originally it wouldn’t display ranks though, but because my system is integrated into my vision too, I can see their ranks even within these golden letters.
After that, I looked at the Tower Master.
“Master said you should rest for 48 hours; the fight was too intense, and you need a proper rest and planning for what’s to come,” she said. “However, because of the changes of the “past” that you’ve done, the narrative has changed, and now instead of five floors total, it has shifted to three total. You got two more floors to go though, so don’t lower your guards. And because of the changes you’ve committed, the difficulty will also rise accordingly. Be careful and prepare well, heh.”
She was enjoying this somehow; I suppose it is as if she were watching a TV show or something… Master really thought about this entire trial, to the point of even creating a narrative and everything, huh? She’s amazing.
“Well, two days of rest seems fair enough,” said Wai Tian. “I don’t think I would be ready even if I rested for a whole day…” She had woken up from her nap.
“Me neither… Ugh, wait, where are we?!” Ying Shen muttered, looking around. “Ah, did the trial finish?”
“Yep, it sure did; congratulations on surviving and helping us so much so far,” I said. “You can continue sleeping, haha.”
“I'm sorry for dozing off so much! I was so exhausted…” he sighed.
“It’s fine,” I said. “Tower Master, where can we rest? Surely a couch and a small bathroom are not enough, right?”
“Ugh! Right, you’re like mortals and need such necessities,” she sighed. “What do you want then, a cozy place or something?”
“Hmm…”
I walked towards her and let her read a part of my mind, showing her what I wanted.
“I see, pretty unique design! Is that from the world you come from?” she wondered. “Okay then!”
With a wave of her big wings, a large building materialized, one resembling those from back Earth—yeah, a cozy, two-floor house.
It’s the original house I had before the apocalypse, before everything burned to ashes due to the invasion of monsters.
It was nostalgic…
Perhaps because I awakened those traumatic memories, the image of this house has remained imprinted and ingrained into my head for a long while.
“Oh, what is this house? It looks nice and cozy!” said Zero One. “Like… the houses of the humans of my world! …Or well, the humans from the world mother comes from.”
“It is from your world, right, Anna?” Wai Tian said. “It is nice.”
“It has this strange feeling of warmth… a beautiful atmosphere of family,” said Fang Shuan.
“Yeah… Perhaps,” I smiled, nodding. “Anyways, let’s go in; there’s a lot of rooms for everyone, bathrooms, kitchen, and I hope food too, right?”
“Yes, I placed everything you imagined inside; the power of the Spirit Sorcery of Creation can do it all within its confined Formation,” said the Tower Master. “Recreating feeble and simple little things with no essence at all is even easier.”
“Hahah, thanks a lot! Will you stay with us?” I wondered.
“Eh?! W-Why would I do that?! I am a prideful tower spirit!” she said, quickly flying away. “I don’t hang out with participants!”
She disappeared after saying that, feeling all flustered; she was a bit cute.
“Anyways! Let me give you a tour! I made her recreate the first house I ever had back home… Let’s go in!” I said happily.
I guided them inside and showed them the place; the nostalgia hit me really hard.
There were even portraits remade, even the clothes of my family, everything.
My brother’s room is filled with his robot figures and his video games.
My mother and my father’s shared room with all their clothes.
I didn’t cry, but… it felt really nostalgic.@@novelbin@@
Why did I even ask for this to be recreated?
Maybe because it could be done?
It was something I wanted deep down.
To reminisce about the past.
I looked at the family photo of all four of us; mom was smiling cheerfully, and dad was also smiling, although he had that serious-looking face he always had.
My brother was wearing a gentle smile, and I was there, so little and cute, before everything happened, smiling like there was nothing to worry about.
“I wish I could show this to you, Jack…”
