Chapter 176: Niel and Noella
After that incident, Noella suddenly became much quieter at school.
After Maureen made it to the finals, Donald’s family and Josephine’s family both sent congratulations, inviting Maureen for dinner.
The one Maureen most wanted to thank was Professor Logan.
She consulted Teacher Logan, asking him to inquire from Teacher Brown about what type of wine Professor Logan usually enjoyed.
She planned to buy some gifts and visit him over the weekend to show her gratitude.
Meanwhile, Liam’s sense of crisis was growing heavier.
Every day, as he witnessed Maureen’s name appearing prominently on the finalist list, and the love letters that she pulled out from her desk which multiplied exponentially, his heart ached with envy.
However, he had to act nonchalantly, glancing only briefly before retracting his gaze.
For three consecutive days, he got up at five in the morning, climbed in through the window, and inspected the love letters in Maureen’s desk, only to climb out again. By eight in the morning, when most people arrived, he would come in, battling the cold.
Maureen didn’t realize that Liam had been making trips to the classroom early on these days.
He pretended to be late, entering coolly like ‘no one is cooler than me’, having no idea that many love letters had gotten destroyed by Liam before she even saw them.
All she thought was that Liam’s mood seemed low these past few days.
Was he jealous again? But these days she hasn’t even bumped into Richard in the corridor.
Confidently, Maureen thought that she couldn’t be the reason for his mood, perhaps he just didn’t get a good rest.
Liam wasn’t sure why those boys had no shame! Don’t they understand what restraint is?
“Why do they keep writing love letters to Maureen?!”
After spending three days after school at the milk tea shop going through all those colorful love letters with Niel, he felt like he was fed up with all the nonsense.
What do you think?
