Chapter 305:

An entrance?

Mu Lingsha stared at the oval-shaped entrance that suddenly appeared in front of her, completely dumbfounded.

However, Lin Yan didn’t hesitate. Since the entrance had already appeared, lingering any longer could result in it closing again. He might not have such good luck in finding the next level’s entrance again.

He grabbed Mu Lingsha and, without further ado, jumped through the oval-shaped opening.

Splash!

Lin Yan and Mu Lingsha’s bodies plunged into a stream of water. They emerged in a place completely different from the snowy plains they were in moments before. Now, they were in a vast ocean.

Holding onto Mu Lingsha, Lin Yan soared upward, emerging from the ocean and hovering in mid-air.

He then scanned the surroundings.

This world was indeed a complete water world. Apart from the vast ocean below them, there was nothing else in sight.

“This can’t be happening.”

This time, Lin Yan shook his head speechlessly even before Mu Lingsha could explain the rules.

Given the pattern of the previous two stages, it was clear that to pass this level, they would need to find a droplet representing a token from this immense ocean. If that was indeed the rule, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Lin Yan looked at Mu Lingsha, seeking confirmation. Sure enough, when he turned to her, she nodded heavily.

“This level requires finding a single droplet.”

Just as he thought.

Lin Yan looked at Mu Lingsha, exasperated. “You’ve been keeping all the information about this place from me. Now that we’re deep in this forbidden area, you should tell me more detailed information, right?”

Previously, Mu Lingsha had been unclear about everything regarding this world, leaving Lin Yan with little knowledge about it. Now, as the trials became increasingly nonsensical, even Lin Yan was getting impatient.

If Mu Lingsha continued to withhold information, he would rather break their agreement. After all, Mu Lingsha’s main consciousness couldn’t fully control her body right now, and Lin Yan had plenty of time to rescue his own Mu Lingsha.

Seeing Lin Yan’s changing expression, Mu Lingsha hesitated for a long time before speaking slowly. “This place used to be the burial ground of a senior from my Night Clan. Besides the ancestor, he was almost the top figure within our clan. However, he had a peculiar personality and loved to play games. Therefore, he set up numerous trials at his burial site. Only by passing these trials can one receive his inheritance.”

She paused, seemingly deciding that since she had already said this much, it didn’t matter if she revealed more. “If I can obtain this senior’s inheritance, even without the ancestor’s inheritance, it would be enough for me to secure my position in the Night Clan and even surpass everyone else.”

Although the Night Clan’s ancestor was one of the most powerful beings in the Heavenly World, many Night Clan members sought to obtain the complete inheritance to continue the ancestor’s glory.

However, despite many obtaining parts of the inheritance over countless years since the ancestor’s fall, none had restored the ancestor’s ultimate power. Many attributed this to personal luck and talent.

For Mu Lingsha, getting the ancestor’s legacy would be great, as those who did naturally held a sacred and unique position within the Night Clan. But as long as she had the strength, she didn’t care if she didn’t get the legacy.

In this world, strength was ultimately respected.

Even in a place like the Night Clan, which values bloodlines, many powerful figures had emerged without the ancestor’s inheritance. No one dared to underestimate them.

Like the senior who created this treacherous place.

“This senior of yours was quite mischievous, setting up these trials that are impossible for ordinary people. Only those truly destined can pass them.” Lin Yan remarked, speechless.

To say nothing of the first trial, which involved picking a single tree out of hundreds of thousands, already an extreme test of luck. The second trial, selecting a unique snowflake among countless others, was even more impossible. And now, finding a specific droplet in this vast ocean was truly like searching for a needle in a haystack.

After a few complaints, Lin Yan raised an eyebrow and suggested, “What if I try to obliterate the entire ocean? If I destroy all the water, the token will naturally emerge.”

“No way.”

Seeing Lin Yan seriously consider this idea, Mu Lingsha immediately stopped him. “Absolutely not. Last time my brother and I came here, he tried to break through with brute force. As soon as he used his power, everything started to collapse, and we were expelled. If we try to enter again, we’d have to start all over.”

“Fine.”

Lin Yan was utterly exasperated. He summoned a white cloud beside him and sat down on it casually. “I’ve already boosted your luck to the maximum. Whether you can find the token now is up to you. I’m not searching anymore.”

Seeing Lin Yan sit there comfortably, Mu Lingsha snorted coldly and dived into the water below.

If luck alone couldn’t find the token, she would have to rely on the most basic method of searching each droplet.

Of course, this method wouldn’t work. If it took too long, they’d be expelled. But luckily, Lin Yan had modified Mu Lingsha’s luck. This increased the chances of finding the next level’s entrance significantly.

Instead of searching each droplet, Mu Lingsha swam around, picking out droplets that felt different. Even so, in just a short time, she had examined tens of thousands of droplets. Unfortunately, none were the token.

Watching Mu Lingsha busy herself, Lin Yan sat on his cloud, exasperated.

Finding the token among countless snowflakes in the previous trial was only possible because of his luck. To find the specific droplet in this ocean would require the same extraordinary luck.

“I haven’t changed my own luck, so theoretically, my chances of finding the entrance should be lower than Mu Lingsha’s.” Lin Yan mumbled, flipping off the cloud.

With nothing better to do, Lin Yan decided to try his luck and search for the droplet himself. Landing on the water’s surface, he didn’t even bend down, casually kicking a droplet into the air. As he reached out his hand to catch it, a surge of water erupted from the droplet, creating a massive whirlpool in the ocean. At the center of the whirlpool was an obvious entrance.

“Seriously? Is this even possible?”

Finding the token twice in a row, even Lin Yan found it unbelievable.

Mu Lingsha, who flew over, looked at him in shock. She had originally brought Lin Yan along not to help find the entrance token but to use his destiny-altering power to enhance her own luck. She had never expected that Lin Yan would effortlessly find the entrance token twice in a row.

If she didn’t know this was indeed the burial site of their senior, Mu Lingsha would have started to suspect it was actually the burial site of a Temple of Destiny master, thus favoring Lin Yan, the Temple of Destiny’s member.

After muttering to herself, Mu Lingsha wasted no time and dived into the whirlpool. Lin Yan, stunned for a moment, quickly followed her.

After passing through the massive water whirlpool, they found themselves facing a massive stone statue at the bottom of the sea. The statue stood there like a guardian.

Seeing the statue, Mu Lingsha was instantly excited.

She rushed forward, kneeling at its base. “Descendant of the Night Clan, Mu Lingsha, pays respects to the ancestor.”

Watching her, Lin Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

They wouldn’t have to rely on luck for everything now. And from Mu Lingsha’s reaction, it was clear this was the place she had been looking for.
