Chapter 48 – The oldest person in Kyushu
The Jiuzhou Guardian Array was a concept conceived by Jiang Li and Bai Hongtu a long time ago.
The extraterrestrial demons came from other worlds, and their appearance was always random. Although Jiang Li could easily defeat them, he needed to know when and where they would arrive before he could rush to the landing site of the demons.
The time in between was enough for the demons to wreak havoc on a large scale, causing millions of deaths.
To minimize casualties and buy time, the Jiuzhou Guardian Array was conceived. In their concept, this array would envelop Jiuzhou. When the extraterrestrial demons arrived, they would need a quarter of an hour to break through the array. By then, Jiang Li would have received the information of the demon's attack, and he could quickly rush to the point of the array's breach to kill the demon.
However, there were two difficulties with this array.
First, it required a constant maintenance of the array, which consumed a massive amount of spiritual energy. Jiang Li summoned the six major sects and the nine major dynasties to take turns providing six Unity stage cultivators. The Peoples Emperor's Palace provided two Unity stage cultivators, a total of eight, to continuously transport spiritual energy to maintain the array.
Despite the strength of the six major sects and the nine major dynasties, only the Guardian Array of the world of mortals Pure Land could withstand the extraterrestrial demons. The other forces were helpless against the demons, and no one wanted to be killed by a suddenly appearing demon. They all agreed to Jiang Li's proposal.
Second, this array was simply too large. Never before had an array been able to encompass Jiuzhou. This was not a simple matter of enlarging the array. It also had to consider the terrain, the transportation of spiritual power, and the transfer issues. The design difficulty was extremely high. Even a Unity stage cultivator would have to exhaust all their efforts to design it.
It was for this reason that Bai Hongtu began to design it after breaking through to the Tribulation Crossing stage.
"Using a celestial artifact as the array's eye?" Although he was not informed in advance, Jiang Li was not surprised.
This array had a great function, and naturally, it required a treasure that could bear this huge cause and effect as the array's eye.
"Yes, I asked the Eternal Celestial, and he said that the Yin-Yang Heavenly Seal communicates with heaven and earth, has the ability to enlighten and transform, and is most suitable as the array's eye."
"Is the Eternal Celestial still well?" Jiang Li asked.
"Of course, he is well. Looking at the spirit of the Eternal Celestial, I think he will still be alive even after I die. Do you want to see him?"
"I have some questions to ask him."
"Can I also go to see the Eternal Celestial?" Goddess Jing Xin pointed at herself. She had only heard of the name of the Eternal Celestial, but she had never seen this old man.
"Yes, the Eternal Celestial likes lively places. He would prefer more people." Bai Hongtu nodded.
"I still need to prepare for the Celestial Artifact Appreciation Conference. You guys go ahead. He is still in the Sealed Self Cave." Bai Hongtu hurriedly left after speaking.
Dong Zhongren heard from Wang Bian that Jiang Li already knew about his affairs, and he felt embarrassed to stay here, so he left in a hurry.
The Buddha's Son Wuzhi was very interested in the Celestial Artifact Appreciation Conference. Although it had not yet started, many cultivators had already come to display their weapons. He also bid farewell to Jiang Li and Goddess Jing Xin and wandered around with great interest.
......
"Is the Eternal Celestial really the oldest person in Jiuzhou, and is he really a celestial being?"
On the way to the Sealed Self Cave, Goddess Jing Xin asked.
"He is indeed a celestial being. As for the age issue, it depends on how old your Red Dust Fairy is. Excluding the uncertain Red Dust Fairy, he is indeed the oldest person."
"I suspect he is a disciple of the Dao Ancestor, but he has always denied it."
Before becoming the Peoples Emperor, Jiang Li had asked the Eternal Celestial for advice many times and respected this old man very much.
Goddess Jing Xin was slightly surprised. If he was really a disciple of the Dao Ancestor, then the Eternal Celestial was indeed as his name suggested, living long and seeing far, immortal.
A disciple of the Dao Ancestor would be at least fifty thousand years old.
Unity stage cultivators could live for two to three thousand years, witnessing the rise and fall of countless forces in their long lives.
But the Eternal Celestial could witness the growth and death of countless Unity stage cultivators.
When Jiuzhou still had contact with the celestial realm, many celestial beings visited Jiuzhou, but they all returned to the celestial realm after a few hundred years. Only the Eternal Celestial, a native of Jiuzhou, felt that the celestial realm was not as intimate as Jiuzhou after ascending. He returned to Jiuzhou and never left again.
Jiang Li thought he was planning to retire in Jiuzhou.
But thanks to this old antique, many doubts were answered, such as what the celestial realm has, how to become a celestial being, that there is more than just becoming a celestial being above the Tribulation Crossing stage, that the Red Dust Fairy is the manifestation of the "beauty" of the Heavenly Dao, and so on.
And when the previous Peoples Emperors could not withstand the extraterrestrial demons, the Eternal Celestial also helped and killed the demons.
But the Eternal Celestial could not take action many times.
After becoming a celestial being, all the spiritual energy in one's body would be transformed into celestial power, which could support the body of a celestial being. And celestial power only existed in the celestial realm. After a celestial being descended to the mortal world, the celestial power in their body would decrease as it was used.
After the Eternal Celestial descended to the mortal world, he planned to go to the celestial realm to replenish his celestial power when it was not enough. After all, he could freely travel to and from the celestial realm. Who would have thought that there would be a problem with the Ascension Ladder, and he could not go to the celestial realm.
This was troublesome.
Once he used up all his celestial power, his body would collapse, and he would experience the five decays of heaven and man and die!
He tried his best not to take action.
"Celestial, are you there? I have brought some questions to ask you again." Jiang Li shouted at the stone door of the Sealed Self Cave, and the stone door automatically opened.
The two entered the cave and found that the most common thing in the cave was various ancient books. Some were neatly placed on bookshelves, and some were scattered on the ground. Of course, the term "ancient books" was relative. For the Eternal Celestial, these were all newly published.
"You always have questions every time you come. Can't you just come to see me, an old man, for no reason?" The Eternal Celestial pretended to be very angry, but Goddess Jing Xin could see that he was very happy about Jiang Li's arrival.
"Hmm, it's rare to see someone bringing others along," the Eternal Celestial looked like an ordinary old man you could find anywhere in the countryside. He was thin and hunched, with age spots and calluses on his hands, dressed in simple coarse linen clothes.
This was the manifestation of his vitality being condensed to the extreme.
Looking at Jiang Li, who was revered as the Jiang Peoples Emperor, the Eternal Celestial felt a sense of wonder. Who could have imagined that the little boy who was only in the Elemental Infant stage back then, has now become so unfathomably powerful?
As a celestial being, he couldn't gauge how strong Jiang Li truly was.
A quick look at /2p9emv8w will leave you more fulfilled.
"This little girl looks quite pretty. Whose child is she?"
"Answering the Celestial, Jing Xin is from the World of Mortals Pure Land, a descendant of the Red Dust Fairy."
"The Red Dust Fairy, it's been a long time since I've heard that name." The Eternal Celestial chuckled, warmly welcoming and treating the two of them, even bringing out the finest spiritual tea and pastries.
Although all three of them practiced Inedia, it didn't mean they couldn't enjoy good food.
Jing Xin, the Goddess, wasn't sure if it was her imagination, but she felt that the moment she mentioned she was a descendant of the Red Dust Fairy, the Eternal Celestial's enthusiasm increased, and the way he looked at her changed.
How should she put it? It was as if he was looking at his own younger generation with a doting gaze.
"This is someone who has seen the Red Dust Fairy with his own eyes," Jiang Li transmitted to the Goddess Jing Xin.
Understanding dawned on the Goddess Jing Xin. He was still thinking about her ancestor.
What do you think?
