Chapter 115: Chapter 19 Can You Use a Gun?
Deceit Street became chaotic, with more and more gene humans getting involved.
The kidnapping case evolved into humans discriminating against gene humans and slaughtering them on Deceit Street.
Xu Mo encountered quite a few gene humans climbing up to the rooftop, but he took care of them all.
Outside Deceit Street, a car stopped there, with Li Man looking towards the inside of Deceit Street but not entering, as if waiting for something.
In the distance, a convoy was driving towards this side.
They were all armored vehicles.
On both sides of the armored vehicles were fully armed troops holding weapons, arriving outside Deceit Street.
Li Man showed a smile when she saw the convoy arriving and then waved to the vehicle in front.
A handsome figure was sitting in the passenger seat, and he saw Li Man waving.
“Get in,” Benjamin spoke.
Li Man nodded and then jumped into the vehicle.
The convoy drove directly towards the inside of Deceit Street.
“How did you get the news?” Li Man asked Benjamin.
“Xiao Xiao informed me, saying she ran into trouble,” Benjamin replied.
Li Man instantly understood, that clever devil Sun Xiaoxiao.
The crowd within Deceit Street moved aside as the armored vehicles drove in, their hearts feeling uneasy.
This was a military force, what were they planning to do?
Could it be they wanted to clean up Deceit Street?
The armored vehicles continued moving forward and soon arrived at the epicenter of the unrest, where Benjamin saw the fighting ahead, got out of the vehicle, and charged forward.
The Bull Demon’s axe swung in the air towards Lin Xi, but Benjamin leaped up into the air, collided with the Bull Demon mid-air, and shockingly sent the domineering Bull Demon flying back.
Benjamin also landed on the ground and looked around at the gene humans as a voice came from behind, “A kidnapping has occurred on Deceit Street, leading to a riot. The Security Bureau has tasked us to intervene. If you do not cease, you will be deemed rioters and shot on sight.”
As the person finished speaking, the weapons on the armored vehicles aimed at the rioting crowd.
The people who came out of the vehicles also picked up their weapons and aimed them at the street.
For a moment, Deceit Street quieted down.
The power of the gene humans was still too insignificant; they dared not confront the might of the Steel Dome City military.
“Retreat,” the Bull Demon realized the situation was hopeless, gave the order to retreat, and immediately led his people away from the area.
Other gene humans cast cold glances at the armored vehicles, but they also chose not to continue fighting and started to pull back.
However, their eyes were filled with resentment.
The troops that came down from the armored vehicles did not open fire, to avoid provoking a sensitive incident.
“Cool, as expected of Brother Benjamin,” Sun Xiaoxiao stepped forward and spoke.
Jiang Tong had a bitter expression.
That moment earlier was too humiliating.
Painful.
“Instructor, are you alright?” Benjamin looked at Lin Xi and asked.
“No, thank you,” Lin Xi said gratefully, “How did you know what happened?”
“The academy got wind of the news and informed us, so we notified each other and rushed over,” Sun Xiaoxiao cheerfully explained.
Lin Xi felt a warmth in her heart with gratitude.
After all, she was just an instructor, not even a teacher per se, and their relationship wasn’t that close practically speaking.
“Instructor, for such a big incident you didn’t inform us, that’s not right of you,” Sun Xiaoxiao continued.
On the street, more vehicles entered; they were personnel from the Security Bureau arriving.
Lin Xi and Lin Jian went up to negotiate and then the bodies of Xu Feifei were found by the Security Bureau next door.
Lin Jian was quite frightened; she had thought that Xu Feifei had been kidnapped and killed by gene humans.
After a while, Benjamin spoke, “The Security Bureau will handle things here; let’s head out.”
Everyone nodded.
In the group, it was clear that he was the center, and they headed towards the outside of Deceit Street.
“We owe a lot to Brother Benjamin this time, otherwise, we really might have been in trouble. I didn’t expect these guys to be so ruthless, all charging up,” Sun Xiaoxiao expressed with some dejection, “If I had known earlier, I would’ve come in my Mecha.”
“Xiao Xiao, you were very brave today, but if it weren’t for Benjamin arriving when he did, we indeed would have had big trouble, might even have fallen here,” Jiang Tong also spoke up, with others agreeing.
Just now, they had already been surrounded, and if things had continued, it would have been troublesome.
“I didn’t do much,” Benjamin said nonchalantly.
Su Rou glanced towards a nearby rooftop, which had already quieted down, its former occupant gone.
Lin Xi seemed to have something on her mind as well.
She noticed there was no one left on the rooftop, he had left.
Who was he?
Why save her?
Lin Xi didn’t think of Xu Mo, the person was quite strong, decisive in killing, so she wouldn’t associate him with a boy under seventeen years old.
But she could not think of anyone else either.
And his abilities were very strange, his Metallic Poker could change direction, and its lethality was very strong, as if controlled by spiritual power.
This was already an Extraordinary Ability.
Could it be a student of a certain elder in the academy acting under a hidden identity?
The only one who knew Xu Mo’s identity was Ye Qingdie.
The moment Xu Mo fired his gun, Ye Qingdie knew it was him, they had that understanding.
However, seeing that Xu Mo did not come out, Ye Qingdie knew he didn’t want to reveal his identity, so naturally, she wouldn’t speak of it.
Her beautiful eyes looked ahead, hearing these people crowding around Benjamin, she felt somewhat sour.
She indeed recognized that Benjamin’s appearance at the last moment directly controlled the situation.
But Xu Mo, he was the one silently making sacrifices in the shadows.
Unfortunately, Xu Mo didn’t want to reveal himself.
Of course, Lin Xi understood that the mysterious person who did not show up was the one who truly saved her, at the critical juncture of life and death, if that mysterious person had not appeared, she would have fallen into the enemy’s hands.
Benjamin’s arrival was already too late.
“`
But the other party didn’t even leave her a chance to say thanks.
“Xiao Xiao, besides you guys, did anyone else from the academy come?” Lin Xi asked.
Su Rou looked at Lin Xi, knowing she was asking about the mysterious person.
“Nope, it should only be us, right? But I also notified Teacher Yang Ming…” Sun Xiaoxiao said, quickly covering her mouth as if she realized she misspoke.
Yang Ming, he didn’t come.
However, Lin Xi wasn’t concerned about Yang Ming; both were instructors, but they were just acquaintances and not very close. Yang Ming always maintained a distance from her, which might have been due to his personality.
Yang Ming came from a fairly ordinary background but cultivated very diligently. Because of his talent and hard work, he entered the academy, achieved quite a bit, and was a bit stronger than her, with a Source Power Level B, but he was very cautious in his actions.
With Yang Ming’s cautious nature, he naturally would not get involved in these matters.
Compared to Yang Ming, these students had more forthright personalities.
They came from well-off families, capable of stirring up trouble.
Like Benjamin, he could directly summon armored vehicles.
His background might well be what Yang Ming had striven for all his life.
“Eh, what about Xiao Qi?” Sun Xiaoxiao turned to look at Ye Qingdie, then suddenly remembered the silly little guy and couldn’t help but smile as she asked.
“Xiao Qi is working in Sister Xi’s company,” Ye Qingdie answered.
She was somewhat surprised that Sun Xiaoxiao actually remembered Xiao Qi.
“Oh,” Sun Xiaoxiao responded.
How come she was so deeply impressed by that silly kid who harassed her all day?
“Xiao Xiao, why are you asking about him?” Jiang Tong seemed a bit jealous, not expecting Xiao Xiao to care about that lowly Desert Hunter.
“He’s really fun,” Sun Xiaoxiao replied with a twinkle in her eye and a smile.
Although that silly kid was a bit noisy, he was indeed entertaining and brought her joy.
“Fun?” Jiang Tong didn’t quite understand the term.
“If you want his contact info, I can give it to you,” Ye Qingdie offered from behind her.
“Ah…” Xiao Xiao was startled and then said, “I certainly don’t want it.”
Ye Qingdie didn’t say anything more.
She knew they were people from different worlds.
But Xiao Qi was truly optimistic.
Being with him, one could forget their dire circumstances.
Even without a normal body, he lived happily and heartlessly.
There was not even a hint of pessimism about him.
But was Xiao Qi truly happy?
Or did he just bring joy to others?
Ye Qingdie didn’t know.
Perhaps only Xiao Qi himself knew.
The group arrived outside Deceit Street.
“Do you need a ride, Sister Lin Xi?” Benjamin asked.
“No need, the Security Bureau has arrived, so nothing will happen,” Lin Xi replied.
Had Lin Jian not been kidnapped, she would not have come to Deceit Street.
“Let me give you a ride then. I live in the same area as the instructor, so it’s on the way,” Su Rou offered.
“That’s fine.” Everyone nodded and then dispersed.
All the way home, Lin Jian braced for a scolding, but Lin Xi didn’t say a word, which made Lin Jian feel even worse.
She knew she had caused a big mess, nearly involving her sister.
This time, she was genuinely frightened, still trembling from the experience.
When the group got home, Xu Mo happened to be coming out. After Benjamin had controlled the situation with his armored vehicle, Xu Mo left and returned first.
“Sister Xi, I heard from Sister Butterfly something happened, is everything okay now?” Xu Mo asked.
“It’s okay now,” Lin Xi replied.
“Asking even though you know the answer,” Lin Jian remarked sarcastically—everyone was already home, so what’s the point in asking if there were any issues?
“Could you shut up?” Lin Xi scolded, shocking Lin Jian who lowered her head, looking wronged.
“Lin Jian, if one day our home encounters trouble, with the way you are, how long do you think you’ll survive?” Lin Xi’s words were harsh. After the last incident, both she and their father had instructed Lin Jian not to go out.
But there she went again, nearly causing a catastrophe.
With her head bowed, Lin Jian remained silent, as this was the first time her sister had been so angry with her.
She knew she wasn’t wronged.
What upset her was not that Lin Xi got angry, but why was she defending a servant?
“Sister Xi, rest well,” Xu Mo said softly. Lin Xi must have been frightened today too.
She had not experienced anything like this before.
After all, Lin Xi’s circumstances were different from his; he and people like Ye Qingdie had crawled up from Hell.
Lin Xi, however, was born into privilege and hadn’t truly suffered hardship.
“Okay,” Lin Xi nodded—she indeed felt tired—and turned to Su Rou, “Su Rou, thank you for today.”
“It’s no problem, you go rest, instructor. I should leave too,” Su Rou said with a smile.
“Okay, Xu Mo, please see Su Rou out,” Lin Xi said.
“Alright.” Xu Mo nodded and walked Su Rou to the door.
As they reached the car, Su Rou opened the door and got in, rolling down the window to Xu Mo, “You don’t need to see me off. You go back.”
“Okay, goodbye,” Xu Mo nodded, exchanging a glance with Su Rou, and then turned to leave.
Su Rou paused when she saw his eyes. As Xu Mo’s figure receded, she suddenly called out, “Xu Mo.”
“Yes?” Xu Mo turned to look at her.@@novelbin@@
“Do you know how to use a gun?” Su Rou asked, gazing into his eyes.
After hesitating for a moment, Xu Mo nodded, “A little.”
“Let’s have a competition in gun skill when there’s a chance,” Su Rou suggested with a smile, then started the vehicle and drove off.
