Chapter 118: 22: Detection

Chapter 118: Chapter 22: Detection

In the streets of Steel Dome City, pedestrians walking on the roads all looked up at the screens mounted on city buildings.

Triumph Street was particularly bustling.

Numerous people on the street stopped in their tracks and raised their heads.

“Sirius Academy has discovered another student with a Source Power Fusion Degree of A and a Source Power Level of C+,” a huge screen blared as a media reporter excitedly announced, “and he is only seventeen years old. You can imagine the brilliant future ahead of him without a doubt; Sirius Academy has welcomed yet another favored son of heaven.” Moreover, this is already the third A-grade Source Power Fusion Degree freshman detected by the academy.”

One could imagine that this was yet another lad of limitless potential who would become a superhuman of A-grade Source Power Level in the future.

The citizens on Triumph Street were also exceptionally joyful.

Whenever a genius emerged, they genuinely felt happy.

Those young students, many of them would be the future of mankind, fighting for the fate of humanity.

For over three hundred years since the war, the crisis of humanity never passed, always hanging over the planet like a sharp sword.

The crisis was always present.

Against such a backdrop, everyone hoped mankind would produce more strong individuals.

Those young scholars are the hope.

“Nanming Academy also has its second A-grade Fusion Degree freshman,” another large screen broadcasted, as a reporter excitedly relayed the news.

The crowd gathered on Triumph Street was overwhelmed, struggling to keep up with the news.

The testing at student graduation is not disclosed to the public.

However, the entry season for Extraordinary Academy is broadcast live throughout Steel Dome City.@@novelbin@@

“Noah Academy has many B-grade students, but so far, no A-grade freshman has appeared.” A large screen displayed the scene outside Noah Academy’s testing facility. From the live footage, one could even spot Xu Mo and his companions.

An A-grade Source Power Fusion Degree already denotes a genius, truly one in a thousand.

Benjamin had an A-grade Source Power Fusion Degree, while the others were B-grade.

In a room at Noah Academy,

An elder sat quietly on a sofa. He watched different monitors displaying news reports from various major media outlets.

As the live coverage of the Eight Extraordinary Colleges grew more popular, the elder looked at Noah Academy and seemed somewhat disappointed. He picked up the remote control and turned off the monitors.

Although he had known the results in advance and had a fairly good understanding of the situations in various colleges, he still felt quite embarrassed.

Especially because this was broadcast live.

The quality of this year’s students at Noah Academy isn’t poor in terms of B-grade.

But regarding A-grade Fusion Degree, they were somewhat lacking.

What he knew was that there were only two A-grade freshmen, one of whom was A-minus.

Sirius Academy, on the other hand, would have five people this time.

That gap was a bit large.

The city’s people mainly focused their attention on A-grade.

At this moment, the Communicator rang, and the elder answered directly.

“Headmaster, the inauguration ceremony is being prepared. Would you like to attend?” On the other end of the Communicator, a man in his fifties, still looking energetic, spoke.

It was Noah Academy’s Executive Headmaster, Lin Qingze.

“No, your attendance will suffice,” the elder responded.

The elder appeared somewhat listless, lacking energy.

“Understood,” Lin Qingze said. “Additionally, Ming Group will establish a foundation at Noah Academy. Ming Hui from Ming Group would like a chance to visit you and see if you have any available time?”

“How much are they donating?” the elder asked.

“One hundred million Federation dollars,” Lin Qingze responded.

“No time,” the elder retorted.

“Understood.” Lin Qingze nodded. “I’ll leave you be then.”

Saying so, Lin Qingze ended the communication.

He knew the elder didn’t really like these groups.

Some large consortia in Steel Dome City had even taken away quite a few graduates from the Extraordinary Academy.

This wasn’t what the elder wanted to see.

Their future shouldn’t be within these consortia.

However, as the Executive Headmaster, Lin Qingze needed to handle these matters; he was the one who had to deal with them.

This year’s inauguration ceremony, he feared, might be somewhat embarrassing.

……

Xu Mo and his companions continued to wait quietly.

The area still had numerous people, and suddenly a burst of noisy excitement came forth. Many were exceptionally thrilled.

Outside the testing facility, news reporters looked at the characters appearing on the screen and shouted excitedly into their microphones.

The characters displayed on the screen:

Source Power Level: C.

Source Power Fusion Degree: A-minus.

Moments later, a proud youth walked out from inside. News reporters immediately approached to interview him, and the youth was very cooperative.

Many veteran students also looked towards him, drawing the attention of all present.

One could imagine that this youth would surely be a significant figure in the coming years.

“Is it almost over, with just one A-minus?” some veteran students discussed.

This batch of students seemed somewhat lackluster.

Lin Xi naturally felt it too. She heard some inside news; there were only two A grades this time.

It seemed to be true.

Last year there were four.

Moreover, they saw on the news that Sirius Academy had already found five.

“Sister Xi, are A grades very rare?” Ye Qingdie asked.

Lin Xi had already inquired, asking them to wait until after the freshmen’s testing was finished before letting Xu Mo test.

After all, Xu Mo wasn’t a student and couldn’t possibly skip ahead of the students to test; that wouldn’t be proper.

Xu Mo naturally had no objection, just quietly waiting.

“Yes, A-grade, it’s quite rare at the major academies. The appearance of one is always a surprise,” Lin Xi responded.

Ye Qingdie looked towards Xu Mo, secretly harboring some expectations.

Hopefully, Xu Mo could test out an A-grade Source Power Fusion Degree.

In that case, maybe Xu Mo could have a chance to be exceptionally admitted, right?

Just then, another gasp of astonishment went off.

A group of people turned toward that direction, only to see a girl walking out, with all eyes focused on her.

A-Level Source Power Fusion Degree.

This was, so far, the highest talent Noah Academy had detected.

Reporters were still interviewing the young man, so they didn’t notice the girl who had already walked past the crowd, facing many envious glances.

Even some bold veteran students had already started to approach, asking for her phone number.

These two A-Level new students had already obtained the privilege of choosing their mates for the next few years.

“The opening ceremony is about to start,” someone said, and the crowd gradually left the area.

The number of people being tested was dwindling, and it was finally coming to an end.

“Only two new students with A-Level Fusion Degrees?” Sun Xiaoxiao whispered.

“A-Level is rare, it’s normal,” Li Man replied. Benjamin, too, was just A-Level.

“Looks like there’s no hope, let’s go,” Sun Xiaoxiao shrugged.

“Yeah,” seeing the excitement was over, a group of people prepared to leave.

Sun Xiao Xiao told Xiao Qi, “What are you going to do here?”

“Watch,” Xiao Qi replied.

“Oh,” Sun Xiaoxiao gave him a skeptical look.

Why had this silly kid suddenly become quiet?

Could he be angry?

“Then I’m going first,” Sun Xiaoxiao said.

“Goodbye,” Xiao Qi replied.

Sun Xiaoxiao snorted at his attitude and turned to walk away.

He had a temper now?

“Su Rou, aren’t you leaving?” Li Man asked when he saw Su Rou still standing there unresponsive.

“I’ll wait a bit longer. You guys go ahead,” Su Rou said softly.

“Alright,” Li Man felt Su Rou was acting a bit strange. He didn’t know why she was staying behind.

The group left the area.

Lin Xi and the others were still waiting.

The number of people around was getting fewer.

As the opening ceremony began, before long, only a few people remained.

Seeing there were no more new students, Lin Xi said to Xu Mo, “Let’s go.”

“Okay,” Xu Mo nodded, and they walked forward.

Su Rou stood still, quietly staying there, somewhat curious.

It seemed Instructor Lin Xi had brought Xu Mo for testing.

She was actually feeling some anticipation.

Lin Xi and the others reached the outside of the testing booth and entered with Xu Mo.

Ye Qingdie and the others stayed outside.

Ye Qingdie was clenching her hands tightly.

She had never been this nervous before.

Elsa was the same, her eyes constantly on the inside.

Even the nonchalant Xiao Qi was now subdued, standing quietly, taking a deep breath as if he was the one being tested.

It was business as usual for Shadow.

Inside the Source Power testing booth, there was a device. The person being tested was sitting inside, already packing up.

There was also an observer nearby.

“Miss Lin Xi,” he only remembered there was one more person when he saw Lin Xi approaching.

“The person is here,” Lin Xi said.

“Alright, wait by the side. Let him enter the device,” the tester instructed.

Lin Xi looked toward Xu Mo.

Xu Mo walked toward a huge device.

The device was transparent, with glass doors that opened for Xu Mo to enter.

“Feel the Source Power, perform the Breathing Technique,” a voice instructed.

Xu Mo closed his eyes, quietly feeling the Source Power within the device.

Inside, there was a strong Source Power Field.

The tester pressed a button, while the person next to him picked up a teacup.

He twisted it open.

His movements were slow, displaying some lethargy.

The tester continued packing, and it took him a few seconds before he looked up at the screen.

When he saw the screen, he froze for a moment.

A-Level?

Xu Mo saw the device was still operating, and the people inside had not reacted.

He wondered if his fusion degree was too low?

This device should test how much of the Source Power one could absorb, right?

Thinking this, Xu Mo applied his spiritual power to the surroundings. Instantly, the Source Power more fiercely integrated into his body, creating a Source Power Field.

The device emitted beeping sounds.

The tester blinked, breathing a bit more rapidly.

He touched the person next to him.

The man was drinking tea and found it strange to feel his arm touched; he moved the teacup away.

His eyes also glanced at the screen.

The next moment, his pupils gradually dilated.

His mouth grew bigger as well, looking at the tester beside him.

The tester looked at him, completely baffled.

“Pfft…” Unable to hold back, the tea-drinker sprayed out the tea, and the tester closed his eyes, wiped his face with his hand, then stared at the other.

However, he was not angry, but rather smiled weirdly.

They had struck gold.

“Cough, cough…” The one beside gave a violent cough, saying to the tester, “Turn it off, turn it off quickly.”

Only then did the tester react, shutting down the device, both of them scrambling around.
