Chapter 455 - 73: Deep Sea Ruins

Chapter 455: Chapter 73: Deep Sea Ruins

The middle-aged man had only one sword in his hand, which was his sole piece of equipment.

“Captain!” Fu Yuan called out, his eyes filled with respect.

It was not just him; the veteran members of the Divine Sword Bureau also showed respect upon seeing that figure appear.

Jiang Lan, the former captain of the Divine Sword Team and the strongest individual fighter on Byron Star.

“It’s him.”

Many recognized Jiang Lan, and though the Transcendents there were no ordinary people, seeing Jiang Lan engendered a ripple in their hearts, giving them some reassurance.

The mightiest Transcendent of Byron Star had arrived, and they believed he might be able to contend with the king of the monsters.

Jiang Lan’s form dived down as swiftly as lightning toward the monster, his body covered with Energy Light.

The king of the monsters roared furiously at the sky, all three heads spewing Energy Light. The terrifying Light of Destruction flooded the space, instantly engulfing Jiang Lan’s body in the fearsome Energy Light.

Yet, Jiang Lan charged into the Energy Light with his body unaffected by drowning destruction; instead, he continued downward through that devastating Energy Light, his flesh as invincible as Armor.

Even so, Jiang Lan faced immense pressure in the blast wave, his sword slashing out and immediately creating a sword light that seemed to cut through the wave, striking at the giant beast’s heads.

“Roar…” A more fearsome roar of rage burst forth as the giant beast surged from the sea surface, all three heads spewing Energy Light at the diving Jiang Lan. The layered Energy Lights became even more terrifying, overwhelming the sword light and also repelling Jiang Lan’s body.

But there was Jiang Lan, hovering above the sea, sword in hand, indescribably dashing.

“I’ll handle this,” Jiang Lan spoke, and the others understood his intent and continued forward.

The monster’s heads moved, eyes filled with killing intent, but as soon as it moved slightly, Jiang Lan dived down again. If he didn’t keep the king of the monsters in check, the others would die.

His purpose here was to obtain the Super Energy Body, but he took action early due to the situation.

Although the mission was the priority, whether the Super Energy Body could be obtained remained uncertain. If the king of the monsters could kill everyone here, losing such elite members of the Divine Sword Bureau and the top Transcendents of Byron Star, the loss would outweigh the gain.

The other giant beasts also moved, attacking the crowd while the Transcendents from the fleet fought back. SS-class warriors faced those giant beasts, and Fu Yuan also joined the battle.

“You all continue searching for the Super Energy Body,” Fu Yuan told the others. This giant beast might be the king of the sea domain monsters, presumably the final barrier.

Xu Mo and his group made a detour, for he couldn’t partake in this battlefield.

“Who was that just now?” Xu Mo asked as he moved forward.

“The former captain of the Divine Sword Team, Jiang Lan,” Han Hu replied. “The strongest single fighter on Byron Star and your future target.”

Xu Mo, to become the number one fighter on Byron Star, needed to surpass Jiang Lan.

However, cultivation seemed to have constraints. Transcendents, when reaching SS-class, encountered these constraints—historical peak beings had tried and failed to break them, so some had sought answers on alien planets.

Previously, after Ye Huan grew in prominence, Jiang Lan had resigned from his position as the captain of the Divine Sword Team and left Byron Star.

Yet, it seemed he hadn’t broken the SS-class barriers.

Not just in Transcendent cultivation, but weapons and equipment too—SS-class was the ceiling on Byron Star. They could only become stronger at the SS-class level, continuously challenging its limits, but they could never break through.

All of Byron Star had hit a bottleneck.

And this Super Energy Body might be their hope.

Xu Mo was also hoped.

Few people were still making their way over—the air had a few scattered fighters soaring while a few Mechas, and some from the Alien Race also broke through the monster’s blockade to reach this part of the Central Sea.

The storm in the Sea Domain was still ferocious, with a massive ocean vortex ahead.

“Buzz…” Ye Xi slew a monster charging at them; she then focused on the vortex and remarked, “The energy is emanating from inside; even the ocean has changed color.”

The water within that deep sea vortex seemed coated with a layer of silver Energy Light, utterly terrifying.

This was the source.

The Super Energy Body must be beneath this vortex.

They didn’t act immediately but were rather vigilant. This vortex storm was mysterious and terrifying, and no one knew what could happen if they entered, whether they could come out alive.

But to find the Super Energy Body, it seemed they could only go down through here.

Navigate the vortex, tracing the radiating energy, and locate the origin.

They hesitated.

“I’ll go in first. You others might want to wait here and see if I can make it out alive,” Han Hu said to the group, then glanced at Ye Xi, “Ye Xi, with Captain Fu not here, keep an eye on Xu Mo.”

With that, Han Hu charged into the vortex. The fearsome vortex engulfed his body instantly, sweeping him inside and vanishing from sight.

Ye Xi’s expression subtly changed.

“Captain Xi, besides the energy, can you detect anything else?” Xu Mo asked Ye Xi.

Ye Xi shook her head, saying, “Nothing at all.”

They had only detected a tremendously terrifying energy presence here, but what was emitting this energy, nobody knew. They could only assume it was some kind of Super Energy Body.
