Chapter 269 269: Entering Her Mind
"Wha—"
Her words were interrupted when, all of a sudden, Neraxis stuck a single finger in her mouth, pierced it on one of her teeth, and let the blood trickle down her throat.
Alice immediately pushed him away, puzzled at what he had just done.
"Foreplay? In school?" Alice commented, a smile forming. "Do you want to continue?"
However, he merely stared at her in disgust as he wiped away her saliva using the dead Lar's uniform.
And of course, he focused on one thing in particular.
<How much power would you like to share?>
<Solarian Vampire Noble: 50%>
<High Solarian Vampire: 25%>
<Solarian Vampire: 10%>
<Lesser Solarian Vampire: 2%>
Damn, she's pretty high for someone I despise. I wonder how this connection really works? Neraxis pondered, and selected the last option.
<Ding>
<Lesser Solarian Vampire: 2% has been chosen!>
<Notice: The ritual has commenced!>
It was a little overpowered that he could do this to just anyone, but of course, he was glad he could.
After all, if she became a vampire, then he, as the progenitor, could literally kill her.
Once and for all... Neraxis thought, and after just a few more seconds, the ritual effects finally kicked in.
Alice's body began twitching, and with a giant frown, she slit her own throat.
Just this time, he was able to follow the path of her mana.
Neraxis swiftly ran after it and soon arrived in front of the women's bathroom.
Well... shit, Neraxis grumbled and kicked the door open.
Thankfully, there was no one here, but in the very last stall, he heard rustling.
He walked toward it and knocked on the stall.
"I'm sure you're having a lot of fun in there, Alice. But nothing even remotely close to this has happened in the past, so how will you react?" Neraxis said teasingly and proceeded to use Destruction on the stall, revealing the one inside.
Alice was holding on to the walls, and she even had a belt in her mouth, trying her best to stop herself from screaming.
All the while, she kept eye contact with him.
Neraxis let it play out—after all, even if she killed herself, there was no running from this.
After a few more minutes, the ritual was finally over.
<The Solarian Vampire Family>
<Progenitor: Neraxis Valen>
<Firstborn Solarian Vampire: Aurelia Solis>
<High Solarian Vampire: Lana Elarin, Rara Elarin>
<Lesser Solarian Vampire: Cade Yang, Alice D. Windsom>
"So, how do you feel?" Neraxis asked, a sadistic smile on his face.
But instead of responding, Alice slashed her throat, killing herself again.
Yet less than a second later, she reappeared in the same spot.
She seemed to have the same skill as Lana, though hers worked slightly differently. Instead of an insect, she simply came out of a spatial crack like it was normal.
And soon, she sent a glare his way.
"You think this will be enough to kill me?" she asked menacingly. "Well, you're wrong. I can't die because I have the goddess's protection on my side."
"Alice..." Neraxis chuckled. "You know, it feels weird. Just a few years ago, we were fighting together, and I was in love with you. And now, the only thing I wish upon you is death."
"H-Hey, I loved you too, you know," Alice replied, flustered. "You were always ahead of everyone else, and I fell for you. But when everyone wanted to kill you, I just couldn't refuse."
Neraxis tilted his head. "Is that why you made a deal with Lar to get my body after I died?"
"I wanted to revive you!" Alice shot back. "You have to believe me. I would never do anything to harm you!"
"Alice." Neraxis sighed. "My eyes can tell apart all lies, and every single word you've said to me since I met you again was nothing but a load of bullshit."
She flinched. "Neraxis. If you kill me, you will ruin the plan I've been concocting ever since I regained my memories. Trust me, it would benefit you too."
Not a lie. Neraxis's brow rose. "Tell me."
Alice swiftly nodded. "Those beings responsible for interfering with us—I think they're called Sovereigns. We're planning to track them down and kill them."
Neraxis scoffed. "And how exactly are you planning on doing that? They're much stronger than you, and no one in this world can do anything to them."
"That's usually the case, but my goddess told me they have cores, similar to life force crystals. If we destroy them, then they get significantly weaker. If we destroy all of them, then they will literally croak on the spot," Alice explained as she slowly stood up and extended her trembling hands toward him.
"You need me..." she muttered. "And I need you... so—ugh!"
She fell to the ground, clutching her chest in pain.
"Alice," Neraxis called out, leaning down and tilting her chin upward. "You've served your purpose. But before I kill you, I'll have to take a look at your plans."
The moment his words fell, Alice's eyes rolled to the back of her head.
Immediately, Neraxis imagined the same connection he had formed with Rara. Moments later, he found himself standing in a dark, unfamiliar space.
It was much different than Rara's mind realm. However, he could see some similarities.
The shallow water below, and the distant echoes which were likely her heartbeat.
He walked through this mind realm, and after a few short moments, he finally stumbled upon Alice.
She was sitting down with her head buried in her knees, and he could hear faint sobbing.
Neraxis genuinely expected this place to be lit up like some sort of carnival since she had the light affinity, but even her own figure was shrouded in darkness.
Just by being near her, he could feel her raw emotions. They included sorrow, guilt, obsession, love, and of course, ruthlessness.
Nonetheless, Neraxis leaned down and touched her shoulder, infusing his own mana into her shadowy figure.
In the very next moment, his vision shifted, and he found himself sitting in class.
Or rather, he saw it through Alice's eyes. He could feel her emotions more clearly, and he could even hear her thoughts as though they were his own.
Neraxis took a deep breath and focused.
I guess now is as good of a time as ever to find out what really happened...
What do you think?
