Chapter 833: 827: The Secret of the Divine Position
Chapter 833: Chapter 827: The Secret of the Divine Position
“If even a senior cannot break the seal, the junior certainly cannot either.”
David Jones’s thoughts raced, deciding to try to extract more information through conversation.
“Unable to break it? Ridiculous!”
The eyes of the Heavenly Azure Dragon drooped slightly, filled with a hint of loss and unwillingness, as if drifting into distant memories.
“It is not the tower that traps me, but a True God, my promise!”
Upon hearing this, David Jones was slightly taken aback.
In this world, there were very few beings worthy of being called a True God by the apex Class IX Azure Dragon; the only one he could think of was the legendary Eternal True God.
“Enough, knowing too much is not good for you.”
The Heavenly Azure Dragon slowly stood up, extended a dragon claw forward, and immediately a silver-white phantom space channel opened up.
“Your ability to practice the Taikoo Black Dragon Chart to the fifth Level in Class VII shows promising potential, and you’re qualified to receive my bloodline inheritance.”
“If you are willing to forsake your human form now, I can use the essence blood of the Azure Dragon as a catalyst to cast you a royal dragon body, granting you a lifespan of tens of thousands of years.”
“What do you think?” the Heavenly Azure Dragon said.
Hearing this, all the Pets looked up in surprise, instinctively looking to the Trainer.
David Jones frowned tightly, looking at the Heavenly Azure Dragon awaiting his response, at a loss for words at that moment.
After a long while, he finally replied, “I’m sorry, senior, but I still think being human suits me better.”
He lacked trust in the Heavenly Azure Dragon.
David Jones had not forgotten the glimpses he saw with his Golden Eyes of Flame.
In the future scenes he witnessed, Lolo was an adversary of the Heavenly Azure Dragon, only the battlefield was not within the Beast Refining Tower.
A hint of disappointment flashed in Rainbow’s eyes.
It didn’t understand, what was so bad about becoming a dragon?
For someone with David Jones’s Talent, becoming an Immortal was not difficult; but even as an Immortal Trainer, the lifespan limit is merely a mere three thousand years, not even a fraction of Rainbow’s.
“Interesting, I hope you won’t regret your decision later,” the Heavenly Azure Dragon didn’t insist, the dragon claw curled slightly, and the space channel vanished in an instant.
“Also, don’t overthink things, lad. The Azure Dragon Token can only be used on Skypillar Island, it’s useless to me, and the Trial of Azure Dragon cannot be conducted inside the Beast Refining Tower.”
As the dragon’s voice fell, David Jones feigned surprise and asked with the Azure Dragon Token in hand.
“Senior, do you mean that the Trial of Azure Dragon can only take place on Skypillar Island?”
“Of course, the Trial of Azure Dragon isn’t under my control.”
Upon hearing this, David Jones’ confusion deepened.
Could it be that within the Flowery Kingdom there were two Heavenly Azure Dragons, one sealed in the Beast Refining Tower and another slumbering on Skypillar Island? And one of them would fight against Lolo?
But that makes no sense whatsoever!
As far as David Jones knew, the Four Sacred Beasts within the Flowery Kingdom were each unique and majestic beings.
“The Azure Dragon slumbering on Skypillar Island is me, yet it is not me.” Seemingly seeing through David Jones’ confusion, the Heavenly Azure Dragon explained, and then his tone shifted.
“However, if you insist on undergoing the trial, I can join in your little game.”
After saying this, the gaze swept over Rainbow, Daphne, the Gluttonous Beast, Loona, Lolo, and Goldy, one by one.
“The process of absorbing and refining the blood of the Azure Dragon is a trial itself. You can choose any of these Pets to inherit my power, but there might be a price to pay.”
David Jones probed, “What is the price?”
“In the past, to compete for the position of Space-Time God, I engaged in a fierce battle with a formidable adversary.”@@novelbin@@
“I lost in that battle, missed the divine position and, as promised, have been trapped here ever since, unable to leave,” the Azure Dragon reminisced.
David Jones’s expression grew even graver.
Above the Immortal is the realm of the Eternal True God.
If he wasn’t wrong, the Eternal God position that the Heavenly Azure Dragon mentioned was definitely inseparably linked to the Eternal True God.
“Elder, who was that formidable opponent?” asked David Jones.
“Are you sure you want to hear?”
The Heavenly Azure Dragon smiled, “An Eternal True God possesses inscrutable might, able to annihilate enemies with a single word. Those who dare to call out Its name, no matter how far away, even if separated by the three realms, can still be sensed by It.”
Upon hearing this, David Jones was stunned, feeling an ominous premonition flooding his mind.
What’s going on?
If the power of the Azure Dragon is so formidable and he were to inherit it, facing an Eternal True God would be a losing deal.
No, that’s not right. The Calm Mind he is currently cultivating is from the Taikoo Black Dragon Chart, closely related to the Heavenly Azure Dragon.
Could it be that he’s already fallen into a trap? Is his fate already determined?
“Elder, what do you mean?” asked David Jones, getting straight to the point.
“Every Eternal True God represents the very limit of a Rule. The apex of the Wood-type Rule has already emerged. If your Pet inherits my power, then its potential will be capped at the level of an Immortal,” the Azure Dragon teased.
“Of course, if it can survive until the fall of an Eternal True God, or it has extraordinary insight and changes its primary Rule, it could potentially defeat the Eternal True God and take the divine position, not failing to become the new Eternal True God!”
When it comes to lifespan, no Beast can outlast an Eternal True God.
In terms of power, the difference between classes is immense. The terror of a higher Rule bearing down on a lower one far exceeds the disparity in class.
Otherwise, It would not have created an Origin Avatar, enjoyed the worship tied to the fate of nations, and attempted to reach the realm of an Eternal True God through a completely different Great Path.
David Jones exhaled a heavy breath, feeling relieved in his heart.
So this was the cost the Heavenly Azure Dragon spoke of. He had thought he would have to face an Eternal True God in the future, but now it seemed he had worried unnecessarily.
The words of the Heavenly Azure Dragon were easy to understand.
Simply put, the positions of Eternal True God on Sapphire Star are limited—a carrot for every hole.
With positions filled, it’s nearly impossible for later generations to transcend their predecessors to ascend to higher ranks.
David Jones’s gaze swept over Loona.
If he wasn’t mistaken, the position of Space-Time God was already taken by the Time Dragon.
Yet, even so, the Time Dragon still chose to help Loona evolve.
The gap between an Eternal True God and an Immortal might be far greater than he imagined.
Otherwise, the Time Dragon would not engage in such a self-sacrificial act, actively creating a competitor for itself.
“Elder, do you know how many Eternal True Gods there are currently on Sapphire Star?” inquired David Jones with concern.
If he could know the Types of the existing Eternal True Gods, he could have his Pets circumvent them, avoiding a head-on collision with an insurmountable obstacle.
Upon hearing this, the Heavenly Azure Dragon coughed lightly and changed the subject, “Such profound secrets are rarely known to dragons. In any case, I’ve said all I needed to say. If you wish for your Pet to embark on this hopeless path, I don’t mind granting my power.”
“However, if you’re unwilling, I understand. Let me also share with you that, currently, the Water-type Divine Throne on Sapphire Star happens to be vacant,” It revealed.
David Jones: “…”
He didn’t know if it was good or bad luck that none of the six Pets he had contracted had a Water-type.
The Pets: “!!!”
What do you think?
