The Survival of the Third-rate Villain

Chapter 41 41 - I Already Have A Home

"That's all then. You three are excused."

The headmaster said as soon as we split the gold coins between us.

Lycus and Sofia only took 20 gold coins each and gave me the rest.

Hear that...

THEY GAVE ME THE 40 GOLD COINS!!!

Why, you ask?

Well, they actually aren't in need of money—they're rich—and they said I did the most work anyway.

'Which is a total bullshit.'

Just as Lycus would have a hard time fighting the army of goblins without my help...

That would be the same for me without him.

No, scrap that!

I wouldn't even be able to fend them off!@@novelbin@@

I would probably end up running away for my survival!

But still, I didn't decline the 40 gold coins...

'I'm not stupid, after all.'

Anyway, with the rewards now split between us...

"Well then, we'll be leaving."

Lycus said to the headmaster.

"..."

Sofia and I just bowed our heads after.

And with that...

Tap- tap- tap—

We three started walking away.

Though, before we could even reach the doors of the room...

"Ah, Raye."

The headmaster called out to me.

Tap—

My steps halted.

And out of curiosity, Lycus and Sofia stopped in their tracks too.

Then, the three of us looked back at the headmaster...

"Stay for a bit. I have something to say to you."

He said, looking at me with a smile.

I glanced at Lycus and Sofia, they were looking at me as well.

And after a few moments...

I just nodded my head at them.

They did the same thing in response.

And after that...

"See you around."

Creak—

Thud—

Lycus and Sofia left the room.

And me...

Tap- tap- tap—

I walked toward the headmaster's table.

I was nervous.

Why wouldn't I be?

'With just a single word from this guy, I could get expelled!'

Though, I didn't show my unease on the outside...

Standing in front of the headmaster's table, I looked down at him, he was sitting.

And with a confused expression on my face...

"What is it, Headmaster?"

I asked that.

Then, looking back at me, and without hesitation...

"You can go back to the dorms now."

The headmaster declared that with a smile.

"Huh?"

I was surprised.

And before I could even say anything about the matter...

"I'm lifting your punishments now. I'll give you a free room in the normal dormitory."

The headmaster went and added that.

"Why are you lifting my punishments now?"

I asked him.

And with a carefree expression on his face...

"Professor Jacqueline and Professor Sariel gave me a report, telling me that you've changed for the better and that your punishments should be lifted now."

The headmaster explained.

"And after seeing you today, I agree with them."

He followed up, waving his hand casually in the air.

"..."

I was speechless.

The headmaster was still talking about giving me a room in a dormitory, but his voice was drowned out by my thoughts.

Though, my answer was already set from the start—it's a no-brainer, after all...

So as Headmaster Bryan was talking...

"What dorm would you like to be i—"

"No thanks, I'm fine."

I cut him off and gave him my words directly.

"Huh?"

The headmaster was stunned. He didn't expect me to decline the offer to return to the dormitories.

'But well...'

"I already have a home."

I said to the headmaster, smiling.

"Thank you for the offer though, and thanks for lifting my punishments."

I added, shrugging my shoulders and feeling proud.

"..."

The headmaster just looked at me for a while, not saying anything.

But after a few moments...

"Okay."

He nodded at me.

"Is there anything you need then? I ought to give you something if you won't take the room."

He followed up.

Hearing his offer...

I was about to immediately ask for materials to repair the cabin, but I already had more than enough money for that.

And so, I decided to think about it for a while.

"Hmm..."

And after a few moments.

"Hah."

I decided on something else, a laugh even escaped my mouth.

Then with a resolute look rested in my eyes...

"I want a week off. I plan to go somewhere."

I declared that to the headmaster.

*****

Thud-

"Haaaa..."

I let out a heavy sigh after exiting the headmaster's office.

Talking to him was so nerve-racking, it exhausted me immediately.

Amd just then...

-Meep!

Pyro appeared on my shoulders.

I instructed him earlier to hide his presence during my time in the headmaster's office.

"Hello, Pyro."

I said, looking at Pyro and pinching his cheeks.

-Meep!

Then he playfully jumped up and down.

It's really fun watching him.

Anyway...

'It's a success.'

I've been given permission to be absent for a week.

Though, it'll be for the next week...

'But that's fine, I'm not really in a hurry, anyway.'

I just decided on it on a whim, after all.

And because it's not sudden, I have time to prepare!

'If else, it works out for me.'

I thought, shrugging my shoulders.

Where would I be going, you ask?

Well...

It's nothing really big.

I'm just planning to enter a dungeon.

So with all that sorted out...

Tap- tap- tap—

I started walking back to my classroom.

Professor Jacqueline is probably waiting.

*****

Raye attended the alchemy class after that and listened to Professor Jacqueline intently.

And mid-class...

Professor Jacqueline announced that Raye and Sofia got first place in the outdoor activity yesterday!

Not just because of the herbal roots and whatnots they collected... But because of the goblin incident!

Goblin's saliva is used in many potions, and so is their blood.

And in yesterday's incident, Sofia found their army, and Raye was involved in exterminating them...

So Professor Jacqueline gave the points to them after collecting ingredients from the goblin's corpses yesterday!

Anyway, the prizes are life potions and mana potions.

Raye and Sofia each got 5 pieces of them.

And after that, the class ended...

And so, Raye's day unfolded normally.
