The Tales of Draconic Warlock

Chapter 284: First Quest (1)

"Hey, this quest looks good and since it was our first time taking a quest, let’s test this out for good luck", Angela pulled out a post showing us the quest.

When I took a look at the quest, I wanted to laugh, but remembering where I was, I stopped embarrassing myself. Laughing out loud would attract too much attention to us.

We are in an unknown place where we have no allies. So, it is better not to attract too much attention.

From the moment we entered, a lot of adventurers were already eyeing us, either because they were envious that I had two girls or because they saw us as fresh meat who could be exploited easily.

Either one is not good. So, attracting more attention is not what I need. It’s best we leave the guild before we attract more attention from those bastards.

If they follow us, then that would be their doom but if too many do, that may cause a problem for us.

Too many opponents mean we can’t take care of all of them. One or two may slip from the clean up and if they reported to the guild, then we may become criminals.

I say this because we are new people here and those bastards are someone who lived for a long time.

Whose words do the guild believe?

Guild is just people and people tend to listen to the words of people that they have known for a long time, over the words of strangers, even if the stranger is the one speaking the truth.

Unless the guild has ways to know the truth, like a magical artifact that can show what really happened, we would be in trouble.

So, being careful is very much a basic requirement when one is in places that they don’t know.

"Hmm, yeah, I think that this quest would be the best choice as our first quest together. Also, we are not a team yet. So, we have to take three quests, one for each one but this quest is a repetitive quest", Celine added her thoughts to Angela’s choice, affirming that it would be the best.

What Celine said was right.

Since we just registered, and are at F-rank, we can’t form any official parties. Though we can go do quests as a team unofficially. Only once we reach C-rank, can we form a party officially.

Also, as an F-rank, we were required to complete at least two F-rank quests per month to keep the Adventurer Guild card valid. The restrictions would loosen as we rank up but that is what we have to do for now.

This quest can be considered an F-rank quest for each of us, maybe two for each of us.

The quest is simple.

--

Quest: Hunt five blue-horn rabbits and bring back their meat.

Location: Blue Sky Mountains

Rank: F

--

As I said it was simple but it is at the same time.

The Blues sky mountains are to the north of the city. They are very tall and the mountain caps are always covered in snow and sometimes even to the bottom, depending on the season.

The mountain range is very large. It was said that there are a lot of Bluw-horn rabbits as they reproduce faster than many beasts. So, no matter how many were killed, they always sprout out like damn cockroaches.

They cause a lot of damage to farm fields, especially if those fields have any orchids. They love those fruits and the reason why there is a permanent quest for them.

Also, their meat is very tasty as far as I can understand. It has only been a day since we arrived in the city. So we have yet to taste it.

Aaahh, thinking about it, I want to taste that now.

Damn it.

Control yourself you idiot or others might brand you as a fool and that won’t look good, especially with beautiful girls around you.

Maybe I can hunt extra rabbits and keep them to eat.

I am not a cook but I can fry meat a bit and with good seasonings, I can make the best of what I can or I can go to a restaurant like others to get the food but those bastards charge a lot in the city.

If we go and eat in restaurants or Inns, we would not have a single copper with us after a few weeks.

It’s not like we are rich to spend as we like. I only brought my savings and a few coins that my father gave me before leaving. Some of that was from my mother.

They can’t just fund my tour from the family treasury and could only give a few funds for the travel.

The main reason for joining the guild was to save enough coins to fund our travel. If we spend too much here, then we will be stuck here forever. That won’t be good for us.

It defeats our actual goal. To learn as much as we can from the tour. Going to one city is not a tour.

So, I think, we should fry the meat on a fire by ourselves. If we can’t do that properly, only then we would settle to eat in Inns and restaurants.

"Hello, we like to register the Blue-Horn Rabbit quest", I spoke to the receptionist who registered us.

She looked up and smiled at us, "Your guild cards please".

We handed them to her and she quickly registered the quests for us.

"There is no need to register quests like this. You can just complete as you want and as an F ranker, this is the best quest there is but you have to catch those rabbits as they are pretty agile and once they sense danger, they would borrow deep into the ground", the receptionist gave us some advice.

As we were way beyond our adventurer rank’s supposed strength, still we accepted the advice.

Not many would be helpful to the newbies or nice to them. So, we thanked her for the advice and left the guild to complete our first quest.
