The Tales of Draconic Warlock

Chapter 296 296: The Alchemy Guild (2)

When I say to be safe, it's not because I might have missed something. No, I didn't want to be on the wrath list of the twins.

Well, it's not exactly called a wrath list but nonetheless, it's a list that has the things that they don't like or would like to beat up if given the chance.

Though they officially never said that, I know for a fact that a list like that exists. In all these years of connection with Angela, I pieced that together from our conversations.

So outright faulting them is a No-No, at least not in cases like this. So, I decided to let them make a decision.

"I can't think of anything at the moment, but I think that we should all go there. You can't go outside at this time and as there was nothing to do, you two might as well follow me to the Alchemy Guild. You might find something there", Celine said after thinking for a while.

"Okay, then. Let's go to the Alchemy Guild", I said without thinking much about it.

Since Celine said that we might get some idea of what to do when we go there. There is nothing that we could do but do as she suggested. As I said before, I don't want to get on her wrath list. So, I simply decided to follow her to the guild and so did Angela.

Well, she followed because she didn't want to be left behind.

After an hour of walking in the city, we were finally able to reach the Alchemy Guild.

The Inn was present near the Northern Gate, while the Alchemy Guild was near the Southern Gate. When we arrived in the city, I chose the Inn as we learned about the Adventurer's Guild.

The Inn was the closest with a vacant room to the adventurer guild. So, I chose this before we came to a decision to join the guild and earn some money through doing some hunting quests.

The adventurer guild was near the Northern gate because of the forests and mountains to the North, where a lot of monsters live. It means adventurers would go there to hunt. So, the guild was built near the northern entrance for easy accessibility for adventurers.

It also made it far away from the central district where much of the commerce took place, but it was never easy to get everything. The adventurer guild was built for the adventurers, so they were built where it would be convenient for the adventurers.

I mean, after a hunt, most would be bloody and dirty from the hunt. No one wants to walk the city like that. If they were too bloody, then the civilians might tremble in fear because of the blood and may even scramble in fear, causing panic in the streets.

Though the citizens were warned, the chances of that happening are very high. That is never a good thing for the city. It would disturb the economy of the city.

So, the guild provides bathrooms for the members to take showers after the hunt. of course, if they live nearby, they would just go home to take a good bath and relax for a while but not everyone can be accommodated in the Northern District.

It's not just residences that are there but also commercial shops. So, the place would not be available for everyone to settle near the guild. Many would come from other districts. So, the bathroom facilities are available for such adventurers.

---

We had to walk from the Northern district to the Southern district which is very far away.

Also, as a city, the traffic was a murder here. There are too many people coming and going through the city.

Crystal City, as we came to know in the few days that we were here, is a very important node of the empire. Much of the trade in the eastern part of the empire flows through the city.

Yeah, though Crystal City is in the eastern part of the empire, it was not a border city. There are many cities and towns that are present after crossing the Crystal City before the lands of the empire ended.

The Crystal mines here are very famous and the crystals mined here, named Redthorne Crystals are exported to various nations. The demand for them is very high and the reason why the city is an important node for trade.

Also, though the city might not be in the far east of the empire, it is close to the eastern boundaries, but the empire is not a rectangle that has a straight line border. To the north a few thousand kilometres away, there is another nation, Rathwell Kingdom.

As a city of eastern parts, if there were any neighbours, it should be in the eastern side, not the northern side. Well, it was not exactly north but Rathwell kingdom extends from North to Northwest.

The reason why that neighbour exists is because it became a buffer zone for Redthorne and Frost Empires. Yeah, on the north of Rathwell, Frost Empire sits.

Neither of the empires would let the kingdom fall into the hands of another and wars broke out every now and then in the kingdom. Sometimes Redthorne won, and sometimes the Frost Empire won. Whenever that happened, the king changed.

Finally, a treaty was signed and the original family that ruled the kingdom was restored and now the kingdom acts as a buffer for both empires. So, that means, much of the trade between the two empires went through the kingdom and the places near that route would be prosperous but also crowded.

---

So the crowd in the city. Though we walked for an hour, if the roads were clear, it wouldn't have taken such a long time to reach our destination.

After reaching the Alchemy Guild, Celine walked towards one of the receptionists who was free at the moment. Unlike the adventurer guild, there were only three present here.

Also, the number of people that are entering and leaving is not as many as adventurer's guild. So, I don't think there was any need for too many receptionists. It would be just a waste of resources.

"Hello", Celine spoke, "I want to register with the guild".
