Chapter 300 300: To the Next (3)
The royals are like that, always.
They would award new lands to people who achieved something great, like becoming a Tier-8 powerhouse. These would be the best benefits they give out, at least that's what they say.
It was actually a trap for the powerhouses.
The kingdom doesn't like to let go of such powerhouses.
The kingdom is nothing but an ant before empires like Redthorne or Frost Empires. The resources that flowed through the empires in a month would be much more than what flowed through the kingdom in the entire year.
There is no way that the kingdom would be helpful for Tier-8 professionals. If they want to grow further, they have to leave the kingdom to places like the empire.
It means that the kingdom would lose a lot of fighting power, the top fighting power nonetheless. This is something that they can't let happen, no matter what.
The best way to not let them leave was to tie them with the kingdom.
A Tier-7 would be given a noble title and also some resources as congratulations on reaching Tier-7 and for Tier-8, land would be bestowed to them, effectively tying them down to the kingdom.
When such a powerhouse develops their land for some time, they can make the land easily prosper in a short time. Having such a powerhouse means the land would be safe and many would migrate to the new lands to settle and have a chance to prosper better than they were at the time.
Trade would flourish with such a powerful person sitting at the head. Merchants would prefer trading with safe regions unless the danger zones had something that was not available elsewhere.
Once a Tier-8 powerhouse establishes a place of his or her own, there is no way that they would leave the place unless there was a better option.
In Empire, they might have chances to get better resources, but there is no way that they would get land and title like Count just because they reached Tier-8.
To get those benefits, they would need merits, which are not easy to obtain, but having a title and land in the empire is worth more than it was in a small kingdom like Glessaria.
This is something that everyone understands but the ones that were able to reach Tier-7 and Tier-8 are not fools. There are many Tier-8 professionals in the empire. So, going there, they would be nothing but similar to Tier-6 here.
So, unless they were talented and young enough, they wouldn't risk leaving the kingdom for good. They may go for an adventure in the empire but that would be it. They won't settle down there as everything in the empire is damn costly and it can even make a Count broke in a few years if there was no sufficient income to cover the expenses.
So, earning a little bit here and returning to the kingdom would be far better for many. Though the kingdom lacks many things, many know that they wouldn't progress much further than they were at the moment. So, they would rather try to create an environment for their future generations to survive and shine brighter than them.
This would be a better thing according to them.
Also, if there was a territory that belonged to them, it meant constant wealth generation that could support even future descendants.
No matter how free and adventurous one was, they would want to settle down and create a good place for their descendants to grow without facing the problems that they did during their growth.
With a territory of their own, the chances of leaving the kingdom are less likely to happen.
This is why the kingdom would grant titles and territories to the newly ascended Tie-7 and Tier-8 powerhouses.

Now, after a week, Celine's rank was near to D rank in the Alchemy Guild but that also attracted some unwanted eyes.
There was even a young master from some stupid family who was the kind that thinks that the world revolves around them, demanding that Celine serve him.
Celine kicked him the sack, teaching that idiot a lesson.
Of course, that didn't end there. That idiot's family got themselves involved directly, but the alchemy guild did nothing. To them, Celine is just a small talent, but from what I heard about the guild, no matter the talent, as long as she wasn't killed or directly enslaved, the guild wouldn't interfere.
Sure, she did rise her rank fast, but that was something that the guild knew how to do.
She was already a higher ranked alchemist than the rank that they assigned to her. It was a pretty common thing. Many would only join the guild when they see that their alchemy rank was not improving at all.
It was quite common to do so, but when they join they would be given a starting rank, no matter what their actual tier is. So, in the beginning, they would be very fast in completing the quests and would increase their rank faster, but that would be it.
Many would stop for a long time after they reached their limit, a limit due to which they had to join the guild in the first place.
So, the family started to become a little aggressive in their efforts. Dealing with them would be a waste of our time.
Also, due to the numerous quests that we have done in the Adventurer's Guild, I can see some greedy eyes on us. All we did was to support the costs of the alchemy, but no one would believe that.
We have eradicated a few greedy groups. Even if more would appear, we can eliminate them, but that would be a hassle. If we fail to prove that they were the attackers, we would be in trouble.
This is not our home in the first place and we know that no one would stand by our side.
So, we came to a decision that we would leave the city and go to other cities. It is, after all, the main reason why we came here. Not to earn money nor improve our skills. If we could also do those along the way, that would be a bonus, and none among us would say no to that.
What do you think?
