The Tycoon's Enchanted Mermaid

Chapter 144: Playtime

Chapter 144: Chapter 144: Playtime

Ah Da sat in the passenger seat, and Qin Yu bent over to fasten her seatbelt, his hand gently tousling her hair.

Qin Yu walked around to the other side, got into the car, and after starting it, he turned to look at Ah Da and asked, “Scared?”

This was Ah Da’s first time in a convertible; her face showed no fear, only excitement, as she shook her head, “Not scared.”

Qin Yu raised an eyebrow and smiled, the car speeding off like lightning, the strong wind blowing all her hair about, and at first, Ah Da squinted, not daring to open her eyes fully.

When the car smoothy crossed the bridge and drove along the lakeside road, Ah Da dropped her hands, only seeing in the distance where the lake water met the lush green mountains, layers of mountains enveloped in mist, hazy and dreamlike, as if the clouds were melting and pouring down.

“So beautiful.”

Ah Da couldn’t help but exclaim aloud when she saw Luling Water Pavilion on an island in the middle of the lake, standing as if in a fairyland.

Watching the young girl beside him spread her arms to enjoy the ride, Qin Yu drove with one hand, slowed down by the lakeside, and due to it being morning, there were no other cars in sight.

Ah Da opened her eyes, reflecting the distant sky in them, and turning her head to look at the man beside her, he wore a simple shirt, the top two buttons undone, revealing his collarbone.

At some point, he had put on a pair of brown sunglasses, his hands on the steering wheel clearly defined, the light pink pearl bracelet on his wrist subtly swinging with the motion of the car.

Ah Da couldn’t look away; Qin Yu looked so handsome, there was an indescribable stylish aura about him.

His mouth was good-looking, his chin was good-looking, his eyes were good-looking, and he looked better when he smiled than when he didn’t.

Ah Da’s thoughts were jumbled.

Qin Yu noticed the young girl staring at him all the way, the corners of his mouth lifted, and with a turn of the steering wheel, the sports car stopped by the roadside.

Ah Da was bewildered, blinking her round eyes, as the man unbuckled his seat belt, his large hand grabbing the back of her head, kissing her fiercely on the lips.

Ah Da’s head spun even more.

She tightened her seat belt, watching Qin Yu get out of the car and walk over to her side, opening her door, “Let’s go for a walk below.”

The scenery below was indeed quite nice; Ah Da grabbed Qin Yu’s hand and jumped out of the car, heading towards the lakeside.

Luling Mountain was immaculately clean; the area was semi-open to protect the ecological environment, even fishing in the lake was banned all year round, and litterers would be fined.

Suddenly, Ah Da let go of Qin Yu’s hand and ran to the water’s edge, crouching down to play with the water, the cool moisture hitting her face, the lake water clear to the bottom, and lush water plants thriving.

The young girl’s smile was radiant, her laughter bubbling like ringing bells, she picked up a rock from the water and showed it to him, “Qin Yu, look, this rock is actually blue?”

Qin Yu, worried she might fall over, intentionally walked up next to her.

“Come back a bit, be careful not to fall in.”

But Ah Da suddenly splashed water onto him, droplets clinging to Qin Yu’s hair and nose; knowing she had caused a stir, she dropped the rock and was about to run, only to be caught in a swift grasp.

“Running why?”

Qin Yu pinched her cheek, Ah Da stumbled over her words, pleading, “I was wrong, how about you splash me back?”

As she spoke, she lifted her small face, eyes closed.

“Coward.”

Qin Yu looked at her pitiful expression, chuckled softly, grabbed Ah Da, and moved her to a safer, flatter area, held her small hand, and lead her towards one side.

Ah Da’s heart pounded wildly, looking at their intertwined hands, her heart warm and a sweet sensation surged within her.

“Wait for the evening’s blaze, I’ll take you to boat around the lake,” Qin Yu suddenly said, calmly.

Ah Da looked up in surprise, “You have a boat too?”

Qin Yu’s garage was filled with an uncountable number of cars, she hadn’t expected him to have a boat too, how amazing was Qin Yu?

The little girl gazed at him with eyes full of admiration, shining as if they hid the vastness of the stars.

Qin Yu raised his hand, his fingertips gently touching her tender cheek, exuding an aura of total control, his voice slightly hoarse, “It’s just a ship. You can have anything you want, as long as you behave.”

Ah Da frowned and said, “I have always been well-behaved.”

“Mm.” Qin Yu’s naturally cold face thawed slightly, his stunning beauty under the reflection of the lake light was astonishing, like a Demon King tempting the girl, “We can also go see the sea.”

Ah Da’s eyes sparkled like jewels, “Really?”

She had never seen the sea, but her heart trembled with excitement at the mention of it, as if there was a deep-seated attachment from within her memories, perhaps because she was of the Merfolk.

Qin Yu gently tapped on her forehead, countering with a light question, “When have you ever seen me deceive you?”

Ah Da covered her forehead, her eyes clear and bright, and then suddenly she threw herself into Qin Yu’s embrace, jumping up and down with joy, “I want to go, I want to see the ocean!”

Qin Yu hadn’t expected such a strong reaction from her. He wrapped his arms around her delicate, soft waist to prevent her from falling.

“Don’t drop any pearls if you get hurt.”

Unafraid, Ah Da tiptoed and kissed him on the chin, having wanted to kiss him in the car because he was so handsome. After succeeding, she quickly pushed him away and ran forward.

Qin Yu was stunned.

“Qin Yu, come quick, there’s a black fish over here.”

The little girl ran onto the rocks, the lake wind lifting her skirt and hair, like a wild creature just released, excitedly looking here and there, thoroughly enjoying herself.

Qin Yu’s dark eyes were deep and bottomless. Indeed, he secretly didn’t want others to see such a lovely side of her.

This thought grew stronger. Initially, he thought being with her would lessen his possessiveness, but, unexpectedly, it had intensified rapidly in a very short time, nearly spiraling out of control.

He was becoming increasingly unsatisfied with her.

Her being timid, she would be frightened if she knew.

Qin Yu narrowed his eyes slightly and took a step toward her.

Exhausted from playing, Ah Da returned to the car; her shoes were soaked with water, uncomfortable to wear, so she took them off.

Her two pale, delicate feet were strikingly noticeable, and Qin Yu, finding it difficult to look away, his Adam’s apple bobbing, handed her a packet of tissues and started the car back to Wuqiong Water Pavilion.

As the car entered the garage, Ah Da was debating whether to put her shoes back on. Being barefoot on the ground could be painful, especially if she stepped on a pebble, which she feared.

As she hesitated, clinging to the car door, Qin Yu, standing outside the car, simply picked her up.

“Eh?”

With Qin Yu’s height advantage, Ah Da’s feet couldn’t touch the ground. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pointing inside the car to remind him, “I haven’t taken my shoes yet.”

Finally with her shoes in hand, Ah Da, legs swinging, cuddled contentedly in his arms back to the house.

Not having to walk was very comfortable. Ah Da lay on Qin Yu’s shoulder, and upon entering the lobby, she saw yesterday’s team of stylists sitting on the couch, each holding a cup of tea.

Seeing them come in, the group stood up in nervous unison.

“Mr. Qin, Miss Su.”

Ah Da hadn’t expected them to arrive so early. Under their gaze, she suddenly felt a bit shy, but fortunately, Qin Yu quickly set her down on the carpet where Song Ma handed her a pair of slippers.

“It’s still early.”

Qin Yu sat on the sofa, watching the little girl in her kitty slippers, and casually began to speak.

The team of stylists fell silent, not sure what to say since they had specifically come early.
