Chapter 156: 156: Ran Away
Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Ran Away
Her palm unknowingly pressed against the man’s body, which made him groan in pain, and his grip instantly loosened, allowing Ah Da to quickly crawl over to the window and open it, intending to jump out. Suddenly, the door opened.
Ah Da’s eyes widened in fear as she turned her head and saw the tall figure standing at the door, tears immediately falling down.
When Qin Yu saw the disheveled young girl, a tremor went through his heart, filled with an indescribably bitter and sour emotion.
It was as if a void in his heart had suddenly been filled.
A fleeting shadow rushed toward him, and he subconsciously spread his arms to catch it, like a soft-furred little cat crashing into him, not too heavy nor too light, the slight weight making his heart ache.
Having lived for over twenty years, he had never felt as panicky as he did tonight, needing all his strength to maintain a calm façade to issue various orders.
In his heart, there was only one thought: he must find her and never let her leave his side again.
The young girl’s slender arms tightly embraced his waist, her head buried in his chest, her body trembling.
She was frightened, probably terrified.
Qin Yu lowered his eyes and bent down to hold her, softly comforting her by her ear while moving her to the side.
Long Qi and Long Jiu immediately rushed in, finding extensive blood stains on the bed and the floor, following the bloody footprints to the adjacent room where the footprints disappeared at the door, and the person was also gone.
“It’s not right, there could be another exit in this room!”
Long Jiu said solemnly to Long Qi.
Long Qi immediately kicked the door open and, indeed, saw a half-open door on the left wall.
They didn’t delay, immediately leading people through the door, chasing after it, only to find that the door led directly to an elevator, the elevator led to a dark passage from which Lu Yuan was escaping, and they chased him to the roadside just in time to see the red tail lights of a car speeding away in the dark.
“Damn it!” Long Qi cursed angrily, his face looking extremely grim, “All that blood and still able to run so fast, like a monster, damn it, this Wanrong villa really turned into an anthill, so damn interconnected.”
Everywhere was filled with secret passages and exits, Long Qi had never felt so humiliated as he did tonight, feeling like he was being led by the enemy all along the way.
Long Jiu took a deep breath; not just Long Qi felt bad, but he himself felt an urge to hit someone, the people with the surname Lu were too good at escaping, just like rats in a sewer.
“Now what do we do?” Long Qi asked, hands on his hips.
Long Jiu stared down the dark road and analyzed, “The guy with the surname Lu must have been prepared from the beginning, having planned how to kidnap someone when the news of the ‘bronze lamp’ was released. They have a clear objective and have done their research deeply, even knowing about the Third Young Master and us, we were still careless.”
“It’s not that we were careless, the enemy is in the dark and we are in light, I always thought it was Qin Huaiming who set this trap tonight targeting the Third Young Master, but out of nowhere, this guy with the surname Lu popped up.”
“I don’t even know what his purpose is, is it to capture Miss Ade to threaten the Third Young Master? Or covet the Qin family?”
Long Jiu frowned, then shook his head, “I don’t think it’s just because of the Qin family, considering all the arrangements tonight, it’s obviously specifically targeting Miss Ade.”
“You’re right, if the target was the Third Young Master, they probably wouldn’t have gone through the trouble of building two doors in the toilet and creating so many tricks, probably fearful of being discovered by the Third Young Master.”
“Looks like the Third Young Master has another enemy in the Capital City, but it doesn’t matter, we’ll deal with them soon!”
Long Qi rubbed his wrist, exhaled a breath of murky air, and turned to walk back, with Long Jiu walking beside him.
Ah Da couldn’t stop crying, and Qin Yu pulled her out to start checking her injuries.
Her hair was a mess, hairpins loosely dangling, and her face and hands were covered in blood, like a dirty little snow rabbit, with red, teary eyes and glistening tear pearls hanging at the corners of her eyes.
The sight was heart-wrenching.
Qin Yu reached out to wipe the blood from her face, then picked up her hand to check, her originally delicate palm looked as if it had been scorched by fire, with blistered, red flesh surrounded by a dark rim.
Ah Da, with eyes cold enough to drip water, looked up at him and quietly explained, “The blood on me is not mine, it’s his.”
“Who is he?” Qin Yu asked, pinching her small hand and looking up, his black pupils bloodshot, as if at a breaking point.
“…it’s that person inside.”
Ah Da turned her head toward the back, and the next second, someone swept her into their arms, her hands instinctively embracing the neck of the person in front of her.
“Qin Yu…”
Ah Da felt uneasy inside, Qin Yu looked calm on the surface, yet she felt that he was very, very angry.
“Uh-huh.”
The man held her in his arms and responded quietly. Ah Da looked up at his firm and clean chin, her lips pursed, and then tilted her head lightly to rest it against his shoulder.
Tang Bufan and Wei Lan stood by the wall, watching Qin Yu leave with an expressionless face as he held someone in his arms.
The two men folded their arms, staring at each other.
“Why are you looking at me?” Wei Lan said, voice devoid of emotion.
Tang Bufan was not to be outdone, “How would you know I’m looking at you if you don’t look at me? I suspect you’re secretly in love with me.”
“There’s a limit to being narcissistic,” Wei Lan sneered, stepping toward the room. After Long Jiu and Long Qi entered, it had gone quiet—unexpectedly, there must be more to this room than meets the eye.
Tang Bufan hastily followed, stepping into the room first. Upon seeing the blood all over the floor, he exclaimed, “Damn, so much blood—they couldn’t have secretly killed someone, could they?”
“Whoever said your brain has holes wasn’t wrong. When we came in, Ah Da had blood on her. It means someone was already injured before Long Qi and the others arrived.”
Wei Lan crouched down, his finger touching some blood on the floor, rubbing it slightly. It hadn’t clotted—this amount of blood…
Noise came from behind them, and Wei Lan and Tang Bufan turned their heads, seeing Long Jiu and Long Qi walking out of a side door with someone.
“Didn’t catch the person?” Wei Lan stood up and asked.
Long Qi nodded, “There are other exits in the room. He escaped.”
“All this blood and he still escaped?” Tang Bufan looked incredulous.
Looking at the large pool of blood and the bedding that was half-soaked, Wei Lan said dubiously, “Indeed, this amount of bleeding is definitely excessive. Even if the other person was a strong, healthy adult, normally speaking, he should have been in shock by now.”
How could he possibly flee on his own? Wei Lan was more inclined to believe that someone sent by the surname Lu had rescued him.
“There was no shock; the footprints along the way prove it was indeed him walking on his own, and very fast at that. It was about a minute’s time. By the time we got outside, the car had already driven away,” said Long Qi, looking at the ground and suddenly guessing, “Could it be more than one person’s blood?”
After all, Miss Ade also had blood on her…
“Right, where’s the Third Young Master?”
Wei Lan spread his hands, “He already left with someone, probably wanting to take her to the hospital for an examination.”
“Let’s hurry and leave too,” Tang Bufan covered his nose, the room filled with the smell of blood, which he hadn’t noticed when they first entered, but now it was growing stronger.
This place is really a bit eerie.
“Do you have hemophobia?” Wei Lan teased him.
Tang Bufan rolled his eyes, “Can’t be bothered with you.”
…
Qin Yu carried Ah Da out through the side door. To go through the main door would require passing the banquet hall, and with Ah Da covered in blood all over, leaving that way would certainly attract attention. He wouldn’t allow anyone to gossip about her, not even a little bit.
After getting into the car, Qin Yu directly raised the partition.
What do you think?
