The Tycoon's Odyssey

Chapter 423 423:Fall Of Daxia

In Daxia..

A sombre tense atmosphere prevailed. The public had yet to know of the damage suffered by them because all news and media outlets had been tightly wrapped and warned.

Still, there were chances of Evan taking things into his hands and hacking his way to broadcast things.

All of these thoughts have wiped away his sleep. He hasn't had even a moment to calm for a few months.

With the new year of 2027 coming, the world had been filled with grim with Evan casting his horror all over the world.

On such a day,Prime Minister Zhao paced the marble halls of Phoenix Citadel, his official residence, an architectural marvel in Daxia's capital.

The sprawling compound blended traditional pagodas with cutting-edge technology, fortified with layers of security designed to repel any assault. Yet, despite these measures, chaos loomed within its walls. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

Reports of global sabotage and unprecedented attacks filled the air, the grim news weighing heavily on Zhao. Aides scrambled around him, their faces pale with worry. Zhao's brow furrowed as he barked questions at his military staff.

"What's the situation?" he demanded.

One of his commanders stepped forward. "Prime Minister, the intruders have breached our airspace using undetectable stealth aircraft. They dropped forces directly into the heart of Phoenix Citadel."

Zhao's jaw tightened. "How did they manage to slip past our defenses?"

"Their technology is… beyond anything we've seen. Our radar didn't even register their approach. They're equipped with advanced weapons and armor. We've deployed the Dragon Vanguard, but the intruders are highly trained."

The Dragon Vanguard was Daxia's elite special forces unit, known for their superhuman capabilities. Augmented through years of cutting-edge bioengineering, they possessed enhanced reflexes, super strength, and the ability to operate seamlessly in any combat environment. Clad in black, lightweight armor that shimmered with a faint blue glow, they were the pride of Daxia's military.

"Is the broadcast working or Evan had already blocked all communication for us,"Prime Minister Zhao asked.

"It's working,"The staff replied.

"Open it."

Zhao watched a live feed of the battle on a large monitor. The Dragon Vanguard fought valiantly, their movements precise and calculated as they engaged the enemy. Plasma bolts illuminated the courtyard outside Phoenix Citadel, and explosions shook the walls. Despite their skill, the intruders moved like phantoms, evading strikes and retaliating with brutal efficiency.

Zhao clenched his fists as he saw one of his soldiers hurled into a wall with a sickening thud, his armor cracking under the impact.

Another Vanguard member slashed at an enemy with an energy blade, but the intruder dodged with inhuman speed and countered, sending the soldier sprawling.

The room grew tense as Zhao's aides tried to manage the escalating crisis. Suddenly, one of them approached with a message. "Sir, we've received a communication from Lin Wei. He says he must meet with you urgently."

Zhao turned sharply. "Lin Wei? What could he possibly want now?"

"He claims to have something that can turn the tide in our favor," the aide replied.

Zhao frowned, deep in thought. Lin Wei was known for his eccentric brilliance, but his timing was infuriating.Though he has no hopes but Youkou had been the forefront of their technological upgrade

After a brief pause, Zhao gave a reluctant nod. "Bring him here."

Moments later, a hidden passage in the wall slid open with a soft hiss. Lin Wei stepped in, flanked by two guards. His face was calm but his expression was unreadable.

Zhao's eyes narrowed as he addressed the man. "What do you have that can salvage this situation?"

Lin Wei smiled faintly and reached into his pocket, producing a small pen-like object. "This," he said simply.

Zhao raised an eyebrow, staring at the device. "What is this supposed to be?"

Lin Wei's smile widened. "My most precious creation. A weapon of mass destruction, disguised in elegance."

Zhao felt a chill run down his spine. He swallowed hard, his gaze fixed on the unassuming object. "Unbelievable," he muttered.

Lin Wei stepped closer, holding the pen as if it were a relic.

"Let me show you."

Before anyone could react, Lin Wei flicked the pen. A sharp nib shot out, glinting under the lights. In one swift motion, he lunged forward and stabbed it into Zhao's neck.

"Ahhh!" Zhao screamed, his body convulsing as he fell to his knees. The guards rushed to intervene, but Lin Wei moved with blinding speed.

BOOM!

A deafening shot rang out as Lin Wei pulled a concealed gun from his coat. A laser beam erupted, incinerating the first guard who approached. Another guard dodged the blast and charged, firing his rifle.

The bullet struck Lin Wei's chest, but instead of piercing through, it ricocheted off with a metallic clang. The guard hesitated in shock, giving Lin Wei the opening he needed.

Lin Wei raised his weapon and fired again. The guard screamed as a laser beam struck his shoulder, leaving a smoking, charred wound. He fell back, clutching the injury, gasping in pain.

The last guard, more cautious, ducked behind cover and returned fire. Lin Wei dodged fluidly, his movements almost mechanical. As the guard repositioned, a beam of light streaked across the room, hitting him square in the chest. He was thrown backward, his armor scorched and smoking.

The room fell silent, the air heavy with the stench of burning metal and flesh. Zhao lay trembling on the ground, his face pale as he clutched his neck. Lin Wei stood over him, his calm demeanor now replaced with something far more sinister.

"Master," Lin Wei said softly, his voice dripping with malice. "Your loyal servant has fulfilled his duty."

With that, he reached up and pulled at his face. The skin tore away like fabric, revealing a metallic mask which opened showcasing a human skin.

Prime Minister Zhao's eyes widened as Lin Wei's true identity was exposed.@@novelbin@@

It was Roman, Evan's right-hand operative.

The suit he wore began to shift, transforming into a sleek, mechanical exoskeleton. The once-unassuming man now looked like a machine built for war.

Roman grabbed Zhao by the collar and lifted him effortlessly. The Prime Minister gasped, his body too weak to resist.

Roman's voice was cold and final. "It's time to surrender."
