Chapter 51
Chapter 51
I naturally took the letter from Darcy's hand.
"Don't tear it up. We need to keep it as evidence."
Even Ryan, with what little sense he has left, didn't suggest a private meeting. He did, however, give a rather flimsy public excuse.
Considering the last time I saw him, it was a suspicious invitation.
Anyway, these letters might come in handy later. I carefully placed the letter on the table.
Darcy, lounging comfortably on the sofa, had his eyes fixed on the letter.
"He must be out of his mind."
Darcy frowned, running his hand through his hair.
"Should I just take care of him...?"@@novelbin@@
He looked up at me with a bright smile.
"It’s annoying when someone who has nothing to do with your happiness keeps hovering around."
Was he serious? I blinked, and Darcy shrugged his shoulders.
"I'm kidding. Don't make that face."
Darcy added in a gentle voice.
"Death is too easy a solution."
I wondered if that’s why, despite the torment he endured from Kies all his life, Darcy had yet to kill either the emperor or Ryan.
When I'm with Darcy, I find myself choosing my words more carefully. It's because I can't help but think there might be parts of his past I still don't know.
Sometimes, I worry that I might hurt him without realizing it.
"What should we watch today?"
Darcy stood up and half-reclined on the bed, which he was using as a sofa. His relaxed demeanor was somewhat unfamiliar.
What do you think?
