Chapter 650: Chapter 650 They Are All Awesome

“Ling’er, you’re here,” Ling Ruonan said with a smile as if nothing had happened, sitting next to Luo Ziling, “come with me to the old house later. I’ve already spoken to Great Grandfather, and I’ll be going over with you today.”

“Mom, can we not rush?” Luo Ziling turned to look at Ling Ruonan, “On the way here, Sister Wuyue told me about what happened at your company today. I’ve asked Wang Zhenjun to come over and help you investigate. He boasts of being a computer expert, a super hacker who was forced to retire because he secretly accessed a beautiful female officer’s computer and stole a few photos. I think if he looks into this matter, he should be able to find some leads quickly.”

Hearing Luo Ziling speak like this, Ling Ruonan glared at Wuyue, blaming her for speaking out of turn.

She had not wanted to tell Luo Ziling about it, for fear of worrying him. But since Wuyue had already mentioned it, she could not do much about it and, hearing Luo Ziling suggest a plan, she did not hide anything further and recounted the matter.

Ling Ruonan was not angry, but instead, she laughed, “Their random moves can only prove that they are desperate. This matter won’t bother me. If some random rumors were enough to shake my status and drive me out of Northern Group, then they are underestimating me.”

Seeing the confidence on Ling Ruonan’s face and not any sign of worry, Luo Ziling breathed a sigh of relief but still asked quietly, “Mom, should we go to your company first?”

...

His question made Ling Ruonan hesitate briefly, but she eventually shook her head, “Ling’er, it’s better if you don’t show up at the company headquarters for now.”

“Mom, what if we do this,” Luo Ziling quickly came up with a plan, “When Wang Zhenjun arrives later, I’ll have them join you as your bodyguards to follow up on leads, and I’ll just stay in the car and not come out.”

“Alright,” Ling Ruonan finally did not refuse Luo Ziling’s suggestion and nodded in agreement.

She was very happy that her son was so concerned about her. Although she felt there was no need to rush, she ultimately followed Luo Ziling’s arrangement.

While mother and son were talking, Wang Zhenjun and Yang Xiaodong arrived at the villa.

These two guys always acted too familiar in front of Luo Ziling, but they were quite cautious when speaking in front of Ling Ruonan.

However, their nature to speak carelessly had not changed. Upon seeing Ling Ruonan and Wuyue, they shamelessly complimented the women on their beauty and then told Ling Ruonan, on their brother’s orders, they were here to assist her, assuring her to just instruct them as she wished. The last time they saw Ling Ruonan, she had told them to follow Luo Ziling’s instructions without needing to seek her approval. So today, they said they were acting on Luo Ziling’s orders.

Luo Ziling briefly explained the situation first, then Ling Ruonan added to it, and after listening, Wang Zhenjun and Yang Xiaodong had a general understanding of the matter.

“Sister-in-law, young master, I think it’s necessary to go to the company headquarters once. I need to collect all the evidence, copy data from the servers, and obtain some key surveillance footage,” Wang Zhenjun said seriously to Ling Ruonan, setting aside his joking demeanor, “I think the person who sent the emails will expect someone to investigate, so they will take precautions. That’s why I need more data.”

“No problem,” Ling Ruonan immediately ordered Wuyue, “Take them to collect these materials later.”

“Yes, Miss,” Wuyue readily agreed.

“Let’s go now, first to the company,” Ling Ruonan said, standing up to change clothes.

When Ling Ruonan went upstairs, Wang Zhenjun spoke to Luo Ziling about the results of investigating the campus online forum incident, saying he had almost pinpointed the poster’s location and computer, and that he had managed to obtain surveillance video near that computer through technical means. With further analysis, they should be able to find out who posted it. As long as they identify the actual poster, it would be easy to trace back to the mastermind behind the scenes, unless the instigator was merely hired to do the job without knowing anything. Otherwise, the truth would soon come to light.

“Looks like your skills are indeed not just hot air,” Luo Ziling slapped Wang Zhenjun’s shoulder heavily, “I’m starting to believe you really are a super hacker.”

Luo Ziling didn’t expect his words to instantly irritate Wang Zhenjun, who jumped up from the sofa and said angrily, “Don’t you dare insult my skills, I am the strongest hacker there is, without equal.”

Yet Luo Ziling remained unmoved and chuckled, “I now believe you’re one of the strongest hackers, but to convince me you’re not ‘one of them,’ you need to prove it yourself—and quickly.”

“Actually, I don’t believe it either,” Yang Xiaodong, who had been quiet all this time, chimed in.

Wang Zhenjun was immediately taken aback and sat down on the sofa without a word.

Soon, Ling Ruonan changed her clothes and came down, and the group also swiftly got into the car.

Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan sat in the Audi A8 lead car, Wuyue sat in the passenger seat, while Wang Zhenjun and Yang Xiaodong each took a seat in the lead car and the escort vehicle respectively.

“These two guys seem to be quite capable,” Ling Ruonan said with a smile to Luo Ziling as the car slowly left the complex, “They might surprise us.”

“Let’s hope,” Luo Ziling also smiled, “Hopefully their true abilities exceed their bragging.”

After Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan exchanged a few words about Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun, the silent driver interjected softly, “Miss, Snow Sculpture used to be our captain. His skills are exceptional; he often got first place in military contests.”

Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan had not raised the soundproof partition while they were speaking, so the driver had overheard their conversation.

Although the driver was one of the people Ling Ruonan trusted the most, there were still key things they would not let him know.

The matter concerning Yang Xiaodong and Wang Zhenjun was not highly confidential, so the mother and son didn’t avoid the driver while speaking. The driver typically remained quiet while driving unless there was something significant, so his interjection today was a rare occurrence.

“I see,” Luo Ziling chuckled, “It looks like they won’t be lacking in capability.”

“They are both very capable,” the driver added a little shyly, then said no more.

Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan exchanged smiles, both harboring the same thought that although Luo Xusheng was thousands of miles away from them, what concerned him the most was still the well-being of the mother and son.

Especially for Ling Ruonan, thinking of the guards Luo Xusheng had arranged for her over the years warmed her heart.

Her safety was one of the things he cared about the most; how could she not be moved?

He had promised to come and see them secretly after a while; when would that be?

The man she hadn’t seen for twenty years, what would it feel like to see him again, would she cry?

At the thought, Ling Ruonan felt her eyes moisten, the urge to cry welling up within her.
