Chapter 678: Taking Action to Teach a Lesson
Chapter 678: Chapter 678: Taking Action to Teach a Lesson
(Chapter Fourteen)
As Luo Ziling played the video and threatened Lin Jiaming and Ling Haining, Ling Ruonan simply sat quietly without saying a word or doing anything. Even after Luo Ziling had made a very direct threat, she remained expressionless, just slowly sipping tea.
But Lin Jiaming and Ling Haining could not hold back and immediately sprang up to accuse Luo Ziling.
“Luo Ziling, you’ve gone too far, do you think with just these trivial things, you can pin the blame on us?” Lin Jiaming said with a cold sneer, “When there’s a will to condemn, there’s always a way.”
Ling Haining also shouted angrily at Luo Ziling, “Luo Ziling, what’s the purpose of editing these videos?”
“Since you still have no shame, I will play a few more videos and provide some additional information,” Luo Ziling said and once again pressed play.
...
After watching the subsequent videos, Lin Jiaming and Ling Haining’s complexions changed yet again.
They hadn’t expected Luo Ziling to have gathered such covert video materials which made them feel as if their souls had scattered. The video evidence, now pieced together, made it clear how they had conspired and arranged for their trusted subordinates to stealthily send emails from a certain employee’s computer.
Next, Luo Ziling showed them some other very important pieces of evidence, and upon seeing the ashen faces of Lin Jiaming and Ling Haining, Luo Ziling scoffed and asked, “If you still want to deny that you were behind this, I must say I admire your audacity.”
Continuing, he turned to Ling Ruonan, still smiling, “Mom, how could the Ling Family send these two blockheads with the IQ of a mere 250 to your side? I had thought that anyone esteemed by the elders of the Ling Family would certainly have above-average intelligence and wouldn’t stoop so low, or at least wouldn’t leave any traces if they did commit such lowly acts. I really overestimated them.”
Luo Ziling’s words left Ling Ruonan somewhat amused and frustrated; she had to admire her son’s audacity to say anything that came to mind.
“That’s right, we did it,” Ling Haining finally burst out, unable to contain his youthful impetuosity in the face of Luo Ziling’s mockery, “The Northern Group belongs to the Ling Family, not to you and your mother. It will eventually return to the hands of the Ling Family, whether you believe it or not; we shall see.”
“That’s a matter for the future, not what we are discussing right now,” Luo Ziling maintained his smile, “Alright, you’ve admitted that you were behind it, and that takes some manliness. My cousin here seems not inclined to admit it. No matter, whether he is a man or not is none of my concern. What we need to discuss is what each of us will do next. Cousin, older cousin, let’s hear your thoughts. Hopefully, you can be forthright. If you are, I believe my mom might not be so hard on you.”
“Luo Ziling, you bastard, what right do you have to talk to me like this?” Lin Jiaming, also a hot-tempered young man, was finally unable to hold back after being directly insulted by Luo Ziling and roared at him in fury, “You think you can just throw together a bunch of videos and convict us…”
His words were interrupted by a loud “smack.”
Without hesitation, Luo Ziling struck out, knocking Lin Jiaming to the ground with a slap.
Originally standing about three meters from the sofa, Lin Jiaming was sent flying onto it by Luo Ziling’s slap.
After emitting a miserable cry and collapsing onto the sofa, Lin Jiaming struggled to get up with one side of his face quickly swelling.
Ling Haining was startled and quickly backed off two steps, turning pale as he hid behind the desk to avoid getting involved.
He had never expected Lin Jiaming to get so agitated that he would call Luo Ziling a “bastard” in front of Ling Ruonan.
On Ling Jinhua’s birthday, someone called Luo Ziling a “bastard”, and Luo Ziling dared to hit someone in public, even striking Ling Zhengjun and his son. Lin Jiaming was nowhere near Ling Zhengjun’s status, so if he dared to call Luo Ziling a bastard, getting beaten was a certainty.
Ling Haining couldn’t help but feel sad for his uncle—on the day of Ling Jinhua’s birthday, he didn’t come out and call Luo Ziling a bastard, but today, in Ling Ruonan’s office, he actually called Luo Ziling a bastard; getting hit really wasn’t surprising.
Anyway, he would definitely not call Luo Ziling a bastard; he would only swear in his heart, certainly not letting anyone hear.
Lin Jiaming was a man in his early thirties with a rather volatile temper, and his relationship with the descendants of the Ling Family was not very good. Apart from having a slightly better relationship with Ling Haining and Ling Haijun, he didn’t have any particular dealings with the others. Therefore, when the descendants of the Ling Family ganged up on Luo Ziling that day, he, as a relative by marriage, just watched the excitement and didn’t join in.
After all, he had nothing to do with the incident that day; whether Luo Ziling returned or not had little to do with him.
But today was entirely different; Luo Ziling insulted him, threatened him, and even called him a retard with an IQ of 250. Besides, he was a generation older than Luo Ziling, and Luo Ziling should call him “Uncle” by relation. Therefore, after being humiliated by Luo Ziling, he couldn’t hold back any longer and exploded on the spot.
Blinded by rage, he publicly called Luo Ziling a bastard.
After being slapped onto the sofa by Luo Ziling, he struggled to get up, prepared to rush over and fight Luo Ziling to the death. As he charged, he continued to insult Luo Ziling with even worse language, dragging Ling Ruonan into it by calling her shameless.
With a loud “smack”, another heavy slap sounded. Lin Jiaming’s body, after being slapped again by Luo Ziling, was sent flying through the air.
But his body didn’t just fall after being launched; Luo Ziling’s kick sent him flying in a different direction.
With a loud “bang”, Lin Jiaming’s body hit the wall. Amidst the trembling that seemed to shake the entire room, he let out continuous pitiful screams as his body slowly fell, struggling a few times before falling still.
Luo Ziling didn’t bother with Lin Jiaming any further. He smiled at Ling Ruonan, who had a wooden expression but hadn’t spoken, and then he walked toward Ling Haining, who had hidden behind the office desk. “Cousin Haining, you haven’t taken a stand yet!”
Ling Haining wanted to turn and flee Ling Ruonan’s office, then make a phone call to get help or to call the police.
But in the end, he just glanced at the door and wisely gave up on that idea.
He knew that if he fled through the door, he would definitely be the next one to get beaten.
Luo Ziling was a madman, a freak who didn’t play by the rules. The usual methods of struggle they were accustomed to couldn’t be applied when confronting Luo Ziling.
The bastard thought highly of his martial skills, and he would resort to beating people up at the slightest disagreement—the infuriating part was that even all of them combined couldn’t beat him.
Ling Haining knew that if he didn’t cooperate with Luo Ziling, he too would get hit.
So, he immediately capitulated.
What do you think?
