Chapter 222: Chapter 215: “We Have a Big Prize for You.”_2
“I’ve placed someone inside your Skywake,” said Yi.
“Let’s call him Little Traitor for now.”
“After you return, you continue to be the president, and he’ll be the vice president.”
“What do you think?”
“I think that’s entirely possible,” Zhou Ziqiang said with a wry smile and a helpless shrug. “After what happened this time, I’d already secretly decided that anyone could be vice president, just not a woman.”
…
“Bow to the high hall! Bow to the heaven and earth! Husband and wife bow to each other!”
Zhou Ziqiang, wearing a large overcoat with a big red flower stitched onto the chest, and Yan Niang, veiled in red, stood inside a room, partaking in a makeshift wedding ceremony.
The grin on Sword Without End’s face twitched uncontrollably as he played the role of the officiant.
It seems that nowadays, a man isn’t ashamed to step outside unless he’s killed a wife or two.
Yi kills his wife, and then you, Zhou Ziqiang, must also kill yours—after the wedding, no less.
With this thought.
He suddenly thought of his own wife, and his complexion turned a shade paler instantaneously, his gaze drifting distantly towards Yan Niang’s silhouette.
His wife had been seriously ill, with no money for treatment.
On the eve of her death, she writhed and howled in pain all night, the sound grating and heart-wrenching to hear.
Unable to bear seeing his wife suffer so, he took a pillow in the night while she convulsed in agony, and he ended her suffering.
He had done nothing wrong.
But he was still sad.
No wonder the three of them could get along; they were all of the same unsavory kind.
…
“Why do you need a camera?”
Yan Niang, wrapped in a thin veil lying on the bed, glanced uneasily out the window before turning to Zhou Ziqiang, who was taking off his pants by the window: “Will Chen Yi really listen to you?”
“Am I really safe?”
“You’re safe now, don’t think too much about it.”
Zhou Ziqiang, having removed his pants, positioned a camera by the window, angling it for the best view of the large bed. Then, he climbed onto the bed and pulled Yan Niang into his arms.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured.
Yan Niang pushed down the fear in her eyes, then caressed Zhou Ziqiang’s chest and whispered back, “I shouldn’t have done those stupid things before, I didn’t mean to cheat deliberately, it was those men, they forced me.”
“I didn’t plan to poison you either, I was just a bit resentful that after being with you for so long, you always treated me as a substitute for your sister.”
“I just wanted you to like me, that’s all.”
“Can you forgive me?”
“Of course, I can,” said Zhou Ziqiang, nodding silently before he stood up in front of Yan Niang, who was half-reclining on the bed, and hushed her mouth: “Don’t say such depressing things, let’s leave the past in the past.”
“Today we’re officially married, let’s be happy.”
The rain blended with thunder, lightning flashing.
Outside the window, it began to rain.
Even hell gets rain; how lively. Meanwhile, inside, the world was turned upside down!
Perhaps aware that to survive one must play certain games, Yan Niang could be said to have used all her life’s learning to its fullest, reaching a pinnacle of performance!
…
Standing outside under the eaves to shelter from the rain, Sword Without End turned his head somewhat helplessly to Chen Yi: “Look, Yi, there’s no need for you to watch over me, is there? It’s not like I could let anyone escape.”
“You never know,” said Chen Yi, shaking his head as he leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. “With you lovesick people, it’s not surprising what you might do. If you were moved by the love between Zhou Ziqiang and Yan Niang, it wouldn’t be strange for you to let them go.”
“How could that be?” Sword Without End spread his hands in exasperation. “Besides, there’s no love between those two; one’s a rbq, and the other’s an old man who uses the excuse of searching for his late wife, but in reality, he’s after rbq. That can hardly be called love.”
“It’s simply an insult to love.”
Chen Yi nodded and remained silent. After a moment, he asked unexpectedly, “What does it really mean to fall in love with someone?”
“Friend!” Sword Without End responded earnestly, nodding. “The best lover is definitely your best friend!”
“You can tell her everything; all the people around you may leave you, but only she won’t.”
“You can let down your guard in front of her, and you share the same values, beliefs, and common goals!”
“You won’t feel heartache spending money on her because you want her to have better things. You want to fulfill all her wishes if you can.”
“I think, that’s what it really means to fall in love with someone,” he concluded.
Chen Yi nodded silently, pondering deeply within.
“`
The best friends are the ones who stick around, who allow you to be yourself without judgement, whose values align with yours, and whose requests you strive to fulfill.
Isn’t that exactly Jiaye…Rabbit?
Suddenly, the corner of his mouth twitched, and he pulled out an umbrella from his embrace before stepping out into the rain, turning away and walking off: “Bootlicker strategist, you know jack about love.”
“Hey, Yi, where are you going?”
“There’s a sweet shop that way, going to buy some treats for Jiaye.”
“Oh.”
…
“How much is it?”
“That’ll be 778 points.”
After paying, Chen Yi stuffed all the desserts into his backpack. This store was a part of Blue Star Hell’s operations, and all its staff were what Sword Without End had dubbed “ghosts.”
Items purchased in a Hell-managed store could be directly packed away.
And within, players were not allowed to attack each other.
He didn’t know what flavors Jiaye preferred, so he just bought one of each.
Just as he was about to step away.
The woman behind the counter, dressed in professional attire and wearing a businesslike smile, suddenly stopped him: “Sir, congratulations, you are our 88th customer today.”
“We have a grand prize for you.”
“No need.”
Chen Yi shook his head and didn’t bother to pay attention, turning to leave the sweet shop. To think that such a low-level scam existed even in Hell, and in a Hell-operated store too.
Nowadays, even ghosts are getting into the scamming business.
Seeing Chen Yi take off without a second thought, the woman at the cash register, still in her professional wear, had her smile freeze on her face. Situated like that for a moment, she then deflated into her chair.
She took off her work badge and laid it on the table beside her.
Her name was on the work badge.
“Li Peiqi.”
After watching that livestream, she had resolved never to meet with Chen Yi again in her life, but due to some special circumstances, she had no choice but to come… and no choice but to see him.
She could only resort to working part-time as an NPC in Blue Star Hell to catch a glimpse of Chen Yi.
But it seemed their first encounter wasn’t very pleasant.
Just then.
Chen Yi, already having walked back into the rain, suddenly re-entered the sweet shop, umbrella in hand, and strode straight to the cash register, glanced at the employee badge on the table, then turned his gaze to the woman in front of him and raised an eyebrow.
“You just said… there’s a grand prize, right?”
“Huh?”
Li Peiqi, deflated in her chair and pondering her next move, saw Chen Yi return and quickly recomposed herself, stood up, and explained with a fully professional smile.
“Yes, sir, I must say, you’re quite lucky.”
“This is your grand prize.”
She placed a card on the table and slid it towards Chen Yi.
Chen Yi picked up the card from the table, gave it a look, then said, “Thanks.”
After that, he said nothing more and turned back into the rainy night.
Li Peiqi, having successfully handed over the item, sighed deeply, slumped in her chair, and looked up at the ceiling in a daze: “I got freaked out by a novice player; the world really has changed.”
“Even a mouse can rape a cat now.”
But regardless, the item had been delivered; the rest was up to Chen Yi’s reaction.
Since that livestream had ended,
a storm had swept across the outside world.
Every planet would go through a 12-month novice period, during which the items, skills, and titles that could be produced were pretty much the same.
Take for instance the “Shore Flower” prop; they were aware of it.
It was indeed a powerful prop that could be obtained during the novice period.
But 300 million Shore Flowers was beyond their understanding. Was such a prop or skill ever produced during the novice period? How come they had never seen it?

ps: Today’s update is 4000 words.
Only today did I understand that updating every day at 23:59 doesn’t count towards that day’s word count.
I was wondering why, despite updating so much every day, I couldn’t climb up the rankings. Turns out I’ve been missing out on a day or two’s worth of word count.
The update timing will change from the original 23:59 to 00:05.
A delay of 6 minutes will allow me to get on the rankings.
I’ll save the rest of today’s update for tomorrow; it’s too much of a loss to release it today as it won’t count towards the word count.
