Chapter 286 286: Invasion (5)
A surprised look appeared on Yun Tian's face when he heard this.
We had been silently watching everything happening, so it was only natural that he was caught off guard by this sudden question.
After the surprise faded from his face, Yun Tian narrowed his eyes to look at me as if he was trying to figure out what I meant by this.
In response, I just looked at him with a calm look on my face.
There was a long silence that hung in the air before Yun Tian slowly said with a nod, "I do."
"Then I need you to help me with something." I said before I started explaining my plan.
When I finished explaining, there was a strange look that was on Yun Tian's face. At the same time, there was a part of his expression that seemed like he was still trying to figure out if I was being serious or not.
However, that soon disappeared when he saw the calm and collected look on my face.
"Alright, let's do this then." Yun Tian said with a sigh before revealing a determined look.
Yun Tian was someone that kept his word.
If he said that he would trust someone, he would follow through until the end.
…
"These humans really have no idea what's happening."
"At this rate, it seems like it's only a matter of time before they all fall at our hands."
These Abyss Demons hiding in the dark had smiles of disdain on their faces as they looked at the humans beneath them. All of them were just silently watching the entire time, waiting for their chance to strike.
But there was one feeling that they all felt.
"This thing really is something else. I never thought that they would develop something like this."
"Right, it's strange how they were able to develop something like this."
"It's said that it's that genius from that line. He's been developing all kinds of strange things that we've never seen before."
The Abyss Demons seemed like they were about to start gossipping, but one of them suddenly said, "Stop slacking off and get ready. There are more humans that are coming out."
That was what pulled them out of their gossipping and made them focus their energy in their hands to prepare to attack the humans that this Abyss Demon mentioned.
But before they could actually do that…
"Ah!"
There was a scream of pain that came from their midsts.
When they looked over, they found that it was an Abyss Demon who was bleeding from their shoulder.
As for why it was from the shoulder, it was because their arm had disappeared.
With the way that the wound looked, it was as if there was something that had ripped the arm away from that Abyss Demon.
"What happened?" The same Abyss Demon that reprimanded those Abyss Demons from before suddenly asked this, but that Abyss Demon didn't seem to have the mental capacity to answer.
After all, they were still in pain from their arm being ripped off.
"Ah!"
There were several more screams that rang out after this and there were more Abyss Demons that were injured.
It wasn't in the same place as the first Abyss Demon, it was in completely different places this time.
One Abyss Demon was missing a leg, one Abyss Demon was missing a part of their waist, and there was even one Abyss Demon that was missing a large chunk of their chest right where their heart was.
That last Abyss Demon didn't even get to make a sound as they collapsed on the ground.
"What is going on?" The Abyss Demons started to panic when they saw what was happening.
But they couldn't do anything as more and more of these wounds started to appear.
In the end, the Abyss Demons had no choice but to retreat.
However, as they were retreating, they finally noticed what it was that was hitting them.
They were these strange distortions in space that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. These distortions in space seemed to swallow everything that was around it, which was why it ripped these body parts away from them.
They didn't know where these distortions in space were coming from, so all they could do was run.
"The humans and their tricks…"
They had been filled with disdain when they had the advantage, but now they were calling the attacks that hit them tricks. Yet they were running because there was nothing that they could do against the tricks that the humans used.
These Abyss Demons truly were hypocritical.
…
"How did you know?" Yun Tian asked in a surprised voice once it was all over.
He had followed my instructions and used his spatial powers in the place that I pointed to him, but it wasn't as if he had expected anything.
When we heard what the Abyss Demons were gossipping about, that had confirmed that we had found where they were.
Then even though we couldn't see them, all that was left was to send Yun Tian's attacks to hit the Abyss Demons with.
Then when the first Abyss Demon corpse fell, that was when he stopped holding back and started attacking without caution.
But when there was nothing else that happened, Yun Tian eventually stopped and turned to question me.
However, it wasn't as if I could give him an explanation that could satisfy him.
All I could do was point at the Astral White Tiger and say, "This little guy's sensitive to mana, so it was able to find the general area that they were hiding in. It was all because you had this spatial ability that we were able to hit them even though we couldn't see them."
Yun Tian raised one brow to look at the Astral White Tiger before slowly giving a nod.
It wasn't as if he had expected a real answer from this since he figured that this was one of the special abilities that Lin Fan possessed.
But this answer did technically explain what happened, so he was satisfied with this.
Only there was someone that wasn't satisfied.
What do you think?
