Chapter 94: Chapter 92: Magic Duel
On the morning of September 2nd, Doctor Huang changed the dressing for the bedridden Zhang Mingze and then performed another acupuncture session.
“How is it?”
Yu Hu, who had been vigilantly watching, asked.
Doctor Huang wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, “The most dangerous period has passed. He just needs to rest now, and his life is no longer at risk, but…”
“But what? Speak freely.”
Yu Hu said.
Doctor Huang glanced at the unconscious Zhang Mingze on the bed and whispered,
“The type of Innate Qi that injured Master was too malevolent. Even though Master has survived, the Implant inside his body has suffered severe damage. Even if his injuries heal, it is unlikely he will ever recover his cultivation.”
“So, you’re saying, his martial arts are completely lost?”
Yu Hu asked expressionlessly.
Doctor Huang nodded: “Yes.”
Implants at the Body Breaking Stage have replaced parts of the human body’s tissues, so damage to an Implant is akin to serious harm to the person themselves. The harm that Blood Evil Qi has caused Zhang Mingze is irreversible, meaning not even replacing the Implant and starting from scratch with cultivation would work.
This means the loss of all martial arts!
“Understood, you’ve worked hard; go rest.”
Yu Hu told Doctor Huang.
Doctor Huang bowed and then withdrew.
Yu Hu gazed at the unconscious Zhang Mingze on the bed, with a profound look in his eyes.
No one knew that upon hearing Doctor Huang say Zhang Mingze would lose all his martial arts, Yu Hu’s initial inner reaction was one of joy!
After working together for so many years, he knew all too well how clever Zhang Mingze’s mind was. His rival was definitely a genius at manipulating power struggles and elaborate conspiracies!
And such a person also happened to have decent martial arts talents.
This made Yu Hu unavoidably wary.
If one day Zhang Mingze’s strength caught up with his own, would the man still be content with being subordinate, serving merely as a Master?
Could he still control a person with a super sharp mind and more than decent combat abilities?
Therefore, when Yu Hu heard Doctor Huang say that Zhang Mingze would lose all future martial arts abilities, he actually breathed a sigh of relief, somewhat pleased.
A Master without martial arts could only continue being a Master in the future, serving him well.
Yu Hu quietly stayed by Zhang Mingze’s bed, and over an hour later, Zhang Mingze awoke and slowly opened his eyes.
“Mingze, are you awake? How do you feel?”
Yu Hu asked with apparent concern.
“Not bad, what did Doctor Huang say?”
Zhang Mingze inquired.
Yu Hu replied, “Doctor Huang said you’ve passed the critical period, and now all you need is to rest well.”
Zhang Mingze looked at Yu Hu, “Then we can’t wait any longer, let’s get the Inspection Bureau moving.”
Yu Hu frowned, “But your current condition…”
Zhang Mingze shook his head, “I can recover at the Inspection Bureau too.”
“Okay, I’ll make sure Wu Yihua takes good care of things.”
After finishing, Yu Hu stood up and left the room.
Minutes later, the Inspection Bureau sent out five carriages, heading toward Yu Hu’s residence.
The Inspection Bureau’s carriages arrived at Yu Hu’s mansion entrance, soon followed by the arrival of Captain Qian Hengjun of the Third Squad, stepping out and personally entering Yu Hu’s residence.
This was the first time in many years that an Inspection Bureau Captain had entered Yu Hu’s residence!
There were many who kept an eye on Yu Hu’s residence, and the news quickly spread.
Minutes later, Qian Hengjun emerged from the doors of Yu Hu’s residence, followed by Inspectors who surrounded several members of the Tiger Saber Gang.
These members of the Tiger Saber Gang were carrying a litter, upon which lay Zhang Mingze, the Tiger Saber Gang Master.
The fully armed Inspectors, with their guns pointed outward, seemed less like they were apprehending Zhang Mingze and more like they were protecting him.
Soon, the litter carrying Zhang Mingze was loaded onto one of the Inspection Bureau’s carriages, and then all the vehicles drove away.
Less than five minutes after the Inspection Bureau’s departure, five deep black Pegasus brand cars pulled up in front of Yu Hu’s mansion.
Out came a group of men dressed in deep black uniforms, donning caps and red epaulettes on the left shoulder.
These were the people from the Inspection Bureau!
Leading them was Cheng Bi, the Fourth Level Inspector who had recruited Li Fei to be a secret inspector.
He stood sternly outside the gates of Yu Hu’s mansion, looked up at the two large characters “Yu Residence,” and then gestured with a grand sweep of his hand:
“Enter!”@@novelbin@@
But this time they were stopped:
“Sorry, this is a private residence. Entry is prohibited!”
Two burly Martial Artists radiating a fierce aura, resembling two fierce tigers, stood in front of Yu Hu’s mansion’s gates, blocking the entry of Cheng Bi and his men.
Cheng Bi stepped forward, staring unflinchingly at the two imposing Martial Artists, took out a dark red token from his chest:
“Inspection Bureau on duty, this is the search warrant! Stand aside!”
The two Martial Artists didn’t budge.
A hint of murderous intent flashed in Cheng Bi’s eyes as he said sternly,
“Are you trying to start a rebellion?!”
As he spoke, the Inspectors behind him drew their guns and aimed them at the two Martial Artists!
Just as the standoff intensified, heavy footsteps sounded.
Thud!
Thud!
Thud!
The sound, like a heavy drum beating, struck Cheng Bi and his men hard with each step, making them feel as though their chests were tightening and nearly making them vomit blood.
“Hmph—”
Cheng Bi let out a cold snort, a piercing aura bursting from within him that caused the normally stoic Martial Artists guarding the door to change color, instinctively stepping back into a defensive stance.
“Oh? The Inspection Bureau has quite a high-level expert like you?”
The newcomer finally arrived at the gate, a long-haired man carrying two War Axes on his back.
What do you think?
