Chapter 462: Chapter 274 Difficulty Doubled_1
Before they realized it, the seventh day had arrived.
It happened to be a Saturday, and the evening was marked by the descent of the Blood Moon, which meant an unprecedented number of players were online.
As the game’s first major event, a large number of players rubbed their hands eagerly, aspiring to perform well during the Blood Moon event.
Based on the intelligence summarized by the players, when the Blood Moon rose, all dungeon monsters would significantly increase in strength and begin to pour out towards the City of Judgment.
However, only second-tier and lower dungeon monsters would emerge; those that were third-tier and above wouldn’t leave their dungeons. Yet, entering dungeons during this time would still reveal that even there, monsters had drastically gained in power.
Before the event started, players went into a frenzy of leveling up and farming for gear, all to maximize their strength as much as possible before the Blood Moon, thereby increasing their power even more during the event.
...
Liuzi and Xiemen Waidao had successfully cleared a fifth-tier dungeon and decided to farm equipment at this level for a while.
The reason for their rapid progress was that Xiemen Waidao’s new Minotaur equipment was exceptionally useful.
Being inherently a dungeon boss, the Minotaur, once outside the arena, would attain the power of a corresponding dungeon boss and bestow it upon Xiemen Waidao.
The Minotaur was nearly invincible, overwhelmingly strong; even fifth-tier dungeon monsters were no match for its divine might—they’d get injured at a touch and die upon contact, giving Xiemen Waidao a taste of the Monkey King’s joy.
In the end, the boss was turned into spider paste under their shameless and cunning scheme, and Xiemen Waidao triumphantly held up the Minotaur, shouting out a deafening cry, “In all the heavens and earth, I alone am honored.”
“You’re wasting time showing off instead of running another dungeon,” Liuzi said. “Time is efficiency, don’t you understand?”
“I don’t talk to those who don’t even have a Minotaur,” Xiemen Waidao retorted disdainfully.
“What’s there to show off about?!” @@novelbin@@
The rewards for the fifth-tier dungeon were somewhat special; in addition to the usual equipment, they unexpectedly found four golden fruits.
Each person took one fruit, and when they picked them up, the item information appeared before them.
[The World’s Advice]: After consumption, it will offer you one piece of advice based on your thoughts. Whether it’s accurate or not is up to you, as it is derived from your instincts and sixth sense.
The item description seemed ambiguous, but the kumquat-like fruits exuded a peculiar fragrance that was quite appetizing.
After exchanging glances for a moment, it was the Goddess of Art who boldly ate hers first. Then they all heard a voice beside their ears saying, “Just maintain the status quo.”
“Maintain what status quo?” asked Liuzi, puzzled.
“I have no idea,” the Goddess of Art confessed, equally befuddled. “I don’t even know what I was thinking.”
“Hopeless.”
But Liuzi found the thing amusing and ate his fruit, after which he heard the voice declare, “Kiss her.”
“Get lost!” bellowed Liuzi. “It’s a liar, don’t believe it!”
“Mr. Liu Liuzi, who do you want to kiss?” asked Xiemen Waidao with a mischievous grin. “It’s not me, is it? Should I go brush my teeth?”
“You too, get lost!”
Mukuai 1234 glanced at Xiemen Waidao, then ate her own fruit and heard a voice say, “That’s right.”
She sighed resignedly and then told Xiemen Waidao, “It’s your turn.”
“What’s right about it?”
“It’s your turn!”
With no other choice, Xiemen Waidao could only shrug, feeling his companions had all gone weird.
Under Mukuai 1234’s anxious gaze, Xiemen Waidao consumed his fruit and heard that voice: “Be careful of the Blood Moon, the difficulty today is doubled.”
The cryptic hint was somewhat baffling, but Liuzi and Xiemen Waidao felt that a key plotline had been triggered, and the game’s main storyline was gradually taking shape.
They had just stumbled upon the main storyline when they encountered the doubled difficulty of the Blood Moon; this surely had some connection to the mastermind behind the scenes.
Such an event… it was truly exhilarating.
Every player was heavy with the weight of anticipation, eager for the plot twists and turns in story-based games, seeking steamy content in serious games, pursuing pure love in risqué games, and hunting for storyline in grinding games.
The thought that they had just triggered a new plotline made them feel a step closer to the ultimate boss.
Posting this news to the Game Inn’s relevant section, the topic was quickly pinned, and a swarm of players started discussing it.
[The Blood Moon is dangerous enough on its own, so maybe this is just a routine warning.]
[If it were a routine warning, then it could have been given by a Priest. But this clearly has a magical aura; it must be a reminder from a mage. They specifically warn about this, so I suspect there’s a big issue here.]
[If it’s true, then we should start thinking about how to respond.]
[With the limited means available to players now, what can they do?]
[The enemy is in the dark, and we are in the light; how about employing a tactic that lures the enemy deeper in?]
[Better to prepare for the worst, I think we should figure out how to protect the NPCs.]
Though they didn’t know what the doubled difficulty of the Blood Moon would entail, the players were still on high alert.
What do you think?
