Chapter 809: Chapter 809: Overbearing CEO Falls for the Delicate Wife (9)_1
Howard Coleman uttered an “Oh,” without saying anything more, his gaze seemingly lost as he stared at the opulent golden wall decor for a while. Then, he turned around and took steps toward the private room’s seating area. After a couple of steps, as if suddenly remembering something, he said to Madeleine behind him, “Let’s head back then.”
“Okay,” Madeleine replied tenderly to Howard, lifting her eyes to meet his. Unable to resist, she smiled, her eyes curving into crescents.
Madeleine, who had come straight from Pristine’s Corporation to attend Steve Burton and Ruby Gregory’s Bachelorette Party, was dressed in a relatively formal short skirt. Her hair was done up, revealing a smooth forehead, simple yet elegant. When she smiled, her chin appeared slightly pointed, and under the corridor lighting, she looked as pure as a high school girl.
Howard couldn’t help but take a few extra glances at Madeleine. Then, he realized that somewhere soft in the left side of his chest, the beating had miraculously come to life and was getting faster with each thump.
This feeling… this feeling had only happened once before in his life, when he first met Anita Madris.
He had always thought that his heart would only ever race for one woman in his life, but he never expected there would be a second time.
Howard felt as if someone had hit him hard on the forehead with a hammer, leaving him frozen in place.
Madeleine felt a nervousness she couldn’t quite articulate under Howard’s unwavering gaze, her cheeks flushing red. She lowered her eyelids instinctively but could still feel the intensity of his stare. Her heart began to race uncontrollably until she could no longer bear it and said, “Why aren’t you walking?”
Snapping back to reality, Howard was startled by the feelings that had just surfaced; he looked almost guilty, as if he had done something wrong. Turning his head quickly, he walked briskly towards the private room without a word.
Madeleine watched Howard’s retreating back for a while, then stepped forward to follow.

By the time the Bachelorette Party ended, there were very few sober people left in the private room.@@novelbin@@
Edward Woods, who was drunk as a mudslide, used the last shred of his sobriety to request the song “Single’s Love Song.”
“Single’s Love Song” played the original version, and everyone, without a microphone, started singing along the moment the music began, swept up in the song’s infectious energy.
As the singing continued, people began to leave. The drunk were assisted by the sober as they made their exits, exchanging goodbyes and well-wishes.
Steve Burton and Ruby Gregory were among the last to leave. Edward Woods had organized the party, and even though he was plastered, he managed to summon the waiter to pay the bill with a sense of dignity. But before he could pull out his own card, he stumbled and fell into Rusell Henris’s arms, so in the end, it was Steve who pulled out his wallet and settled the tab.
While Steve was handling the payment at the front desk, Ruby went to the restroom.
After paying, Steve leaned elegantly against the lobby’s front desk, waiting for Ruby. He waited about ten minutes without her showing up, then waited patiently a little longer, before finally losing his patience and heading towards the restroom.
[For some reason, when Edward Woods drunkenly collapsed into Rusell Henris’s arms, my mind couldn’t help but wander to those two…]
What do you think?
