Chapter 629 - 601 Home-cooked dishes
"It's over!"
Bu Mengting stared at the sound asleep Lin Tian with deep disdain.
However, she immediately smiled mischievously, thinking back on the intense battle they just had. Bu Mengting enjoyed it to the fullest, scoring it a hundred percent on satisfaction. She was also relieved that Lin Tian was so tired he fell asleep; otherwise, she would have had to surrender.
"Awesome!"
Thinking this, Bu Mengting patted Lin Tian's chest in praise.
Right afterwards, Bu Mengting dressed Lin Tian, summoned two employees, and had them carry him to the car. She expended quite a bit of effort to get Lin Tian back home.
From five in the afternoon, he slept all the way until eight the next morning, truly a sleeping god.
But this also indirectly reflected just how intense the battle the day before had been.
Half-awake, Lin Tian groped towards his bed, his first action upon waking up always to touch his wife's twin peaks, a common affliction among all men. But after searching for a long while, Lin Tian couldn't find Bu Mengting's body.
He opened his eyes and rubbed away the sleep, but there was no sign of his little wife.
"Little wife, wife...!" Lin Tian called out several times with no response.
He got out of bed and headed to the living room, where he discovered that breakfast was already prepared: a glass of milk, two eggs, a few slices of bread, a bowl of preserved egg and lean pork congee, and several buns.
"Well prepared, good job, little wife!" Lin Tian silently praised.
Then, he checked his phone to find a message from his little wife.
Between the lines, it was full of love and warmth.
"Husband, I've prepared your breakfast very thoroughly, with a nutritious diet. I specially chose a love-filled breakfast for you. Also, there is some business I need to attend to at the company, so I need to go on a business trip for three days. I will be back after three days. I am deeply sorry for not being able to accompany you during this time," she wrote, concluding with a "crying" emoji.
"But don't be sad, husband. If I can't be with you, Sister Qianqian can keep you company. She has been staying at our hometown for some days now. You should bring her back. I miss her too," she ended the message with a "laughing" emoji!
After reading it, Lin Tian smiled slightly and replied, "Little wife, you're truly considerate. Love you, mwah!"
He felt immensely satisfied. If other men had two women, they would likely end up scratching each other's eyes out upon meeting. But Bu Mengting and He Qianqian got along like sisters, which would surely make any man jealous.
"In the end, it's all because I'm such a good husband!" Lin Tian sighed, and before he knew it, he was self-admiring again.
Bu Mengting was away for three days, and the large house felt empty with only Lin Tian there, particularly lonely and cold at night. It was time to bring the main wife back home.
"Qianqian, here I come!"
At one in the afternoon, Lin Tian took a flight to He Qianqian's hometown and brought plenty of nice things for another meeting with his in-laws.
He arrived at He Qianqian's home laden with large and small bags.
The father-in-law was leisurely smoking a big pipe while seated on a small stool, looking very contented.
"Dad, I'm here!"
The father-in-law's eyes lit up at the sight of Lin Tian. He was very satisfied with his son-in-law and was overjoyed at his arrival.
Lin Tian jogged over and then took out a pack of Zhonghua cigarettes.
"Here, father-in-law, try this, soft Zhonghua. See how it compares to your big pipe?"
"Alright, alright, let me try," he said as he put a Zhonghua cigarette to his lips, and Lin Tian lit it for him.
"Inhale!"
"Exhale!"
The father-in-law closed his eyes, took a drag, and said, "It's smoother than my pipe, but the buzz is much lighter. Still, it feels nice!"
Lin Tian handed him the whole pack, saying, "You should smoke these from now on. Don't worry about cigarettes or alcohol; I'll take care of it. We'll smoke Zhonghua and drink red wine."
"Hahaha... alright, alright!" the father-in-law happily agreed.
He then stood up, patted the dirt off his buttocks, and called into the house, "Wifey, Qianqian, Lin Tian is here, come out!"
Lin Tian entered the house as sounds of chopping emanated from the kitchen. He walked in to find the mother and daughter chopping fillings to make dumplings.
They were both very pleased to see him, and the mother-in-law said with a grin, "Lin Tian, you have good timing! We were just about to make dumplings today. I'm kneading the dough; I'll make an extra portion for you!"
He Qianqian's eyes fixed on Lin Tian, her gaze affectionate, and she offered a shallow smile, looking divinely beautiful.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and He Qianqian nearly died of longing for Lin Tian. However, with her parents nearby, she remained reserved, not daring to approach Lin Tian for an intimate greeting!
In this somewhat awkward moment, it was the father-in-law who knew what to do. He quickly washed his hands, walked into the kitchen, and said, "Well, Qianqian, you haven't seen Lin Tian for a long time. Why don't the two of you go out and chat? We don't need you here; I'll help your mom with the dumplings. Go ahead!"
The father-in-law directly pushed He Qianqian towards Lin Tian's side, and seizing the moment, Lin Tian wrapped his arm around her waist and gave his father-in-law a big thumbs up.
After all, a man knows a man best.
"Mom and Dad, you go ahead with your work; He Qianqian and I are going out," Lin Tian said politely, as he pulled He Qianqian into the house.
The moment the door closed, He Qianqian found herself pressed against the wall by Lin Tian, pinned in a 'wall slam'.
Lin Tian launched an attack directly, aiming his lips at He Qianqian.
"Let go, it's daytime, and my parents are still in the kitchen!"
He Qianqian pushed Lin Tian away, struggling to speak.
"Just one kiss, only one."
Lin Tian forcefully kissed her, and He Qianqian's struggles were in vain, followed soon by an onset of fervent kissing.
He wanted to take further action, pinning He Qianqian down on the bed, but she sternly refused him, for two reasons: first, it was day, and this was the countryside, different from the city. With neighbors coming in and out, the slightest slip could turn into a live broadcast.
Second, her parents were right there. If someone heard them, how embarrassing would that be!
Thinking it over, Lin Tian deeply kissed He Qianqian once more, finally giving up on any further advance.
Getting caught and being the subject of gossip while doing that kind of thing wasn't a turn-on for Lin Tian, who decided to patiently wait for the evening to, well, do that with his beloved wife.
Afterward, Lin Tian changed the subject and pulled out the gifts he had bought, saying, "Look, darling wife, see what I've bought for you all!"
"This is Zhonghua cigarettes, Château Lafite red wine, for my father-in-law."
"These are Lingzhi, oats, bird's nest, for my mother-in-law."
"Here's French perfume, makeup, a gown designed by an Italian fashion master, and a two-carat super-size diamond ring, for my most beloved wife!"
"How about that, do you like it, am I not a good husband?" asked Lin Tian somewhat rhetorically.
Perfume, makeup, dresses, and jewelry—these are all things women adore; which woman wouldn't like them?
He Qianqian's eyes sparkled as she stared at the gifts. Even though she wasn't lacking in such items, she wouldn't mind having more!
She was thrilled inside, but said with her lips, "Why buy all these things, what a waste of money!"
Her words clearly contradicted her feelings, typical of women.
Lin Tian boasted confidently, "No problem, as long as you're happy. What I have plenty of is money."
"Come on, try them on, let me see!"
He Qianqian grinned as she put on the jewelry, changed into the gown, sprayed on the perfume, and applied the makeup.
"How do I look?" asked He Qianqian as she grasped the hem of her gown and twirled on the spot before Lin Tian. The gown fluttered gently and, paired with her exquisite face, she looked like a Heavenly Immortal descending to earth.
The air was infused with a subtle fragrance, a perfect blend of He Qianqian's natural scent and the perfume.
"Wow...!"
Lin Tian let out a sigh of admiration, his eyes fixed on his wife, looking like a fairy, and inhaling the light, elegant fragrance. He felt like the luckiest man in the world, bar none.
What an enjoyment—sensory pleasure for both sight and smell. And in the evening, he anticipated the added delight of touch; the very thought was thrilling, downright exuberant!
...,....
One hour later, the house was filled with steam and aromatic scents.
"Dumplings are ready, time to eat, time to eat...!"
His father-in-law called out loudly.
Lin Tian and He Qianqian quickly went outside, where they were met by his mother-in-law carrying garlic sauce and chopsticks.
She was also extremely fond of Lin Tian, saying, "Lin Tian, come inside, eat while it's hot. I made beef dumplings today, specially with big fillings, they're so tasty. Come and try them!"
"Mm!"
Lin Tian hurried to the table, picked up his chopsticks, dipped them into the garlic sauce, and downed a large dumpling in one bite.
"Oh! Oh! Oh...!"
The freshly cooked dumplings were very hot. Lin Tian ate one too fast, grimacing as it burned his mouth.
"Eat slowly, what's the hurry!" chided He Qianqian beside him, trying to fan him with a book, though it was barely effective—that gesture itself was full of love!
With great difficulty, Lin Tian managed to swallow the dumpling, almost gulping it whole, like Zhu Bajie devouring ginseng fruit—without tasting a thing, unaware if it was delicious or not.
But in front of his in-laws, no matter if the food was to his taste or not, he had to claim it was delicious.
"Delicious!"
Lin Tian gave his in-laws a thumbs-up, pretending to savor it greatly.
"Hahaha...!"
His father-in-law and mother-in-law laughed heartily, urging, "Everyone sit down. If it's that good, eat more."
When the dumplings cooled down, Lin Tian tasted them properly, and they were indeed delicious—with big fillings, thin skins, and plenty of meat and juice, just delectable.
Country folks are down-to-earth, unlike those fancy city restaurants where dumplings are the size of garlic cloves, with as little filling as wontons, flavorless when you bite into them, and exorbitantly priced—certainly not worth the cost.
And seeing Lin Tian relishing those big dumplings made it seem so appetizing, far tastier than any abalone or lobster you'd find in a restaurant.
No matter how exquisite or unique the dishes in a restaurant may be, they can't compare to a simple, homemade meal shared with family. It's not about the food; it's about the love.
What do you think?
