Chapter 1122: Shen Ran, the Game God

Editor: Henyee Translations

Shen Ran, who walked out of the shadows, was actually a child who liked to smile and be optimistic.

He was a good brother and was very protective of his sister, Shen Qin.

However, Shen Ran had the usual playfulness of boys of this age.

He often skipped class and was caught several times by Gu Yang while patrolling the orphanage. Each time, she brought him back to the classroom to study and punished him by making him copy books.

Despite being caught, he always smiled at Gu Yang, as if it were an achievement to be caught by her.

In contrast, Shen Qin was more obedient. Gu Yang simply asked her to keep an eye on Shen Ran and make sure he didn’t skip class. Shen Qin acted like a little adult, keeping her brother in check.

Shen Ran was one of the few children in the orphanage with a phone. His smartphone had been a tenth birthday gift from his father, but he never expected his father to pass away in a car accident shortly after.

Once used to call his parents, the phone now served a different purpose: Shen Ran played games instead of making calls.

One evening during self-study, Gu Yang entered the classroom and noticed a group of boys gathered around Shen Ran, watching him intently.

Curious, she walked over and discovered that Shen Ran was playing a game.

Shen Ran was still bragging. “I’m already a god on the rankings! Look, this is my ranking. It’s in the top 100 in the country!”

“Wow, that’s amazing!”

Shen Ran received the admiring gazes of the surrounding children.

“That’s amazing.”

Gu Yang’s young, gentle, and familiar voice sounded. The surroundings were silent. The group of little radishes that were originally surrounding Shen Ran dispersed like birds and beasts and returned to their seats. They pretended to read and write with pens.

Shen Ran looked at Gu Yang with a smile. “Right, Yangyang? You think I’m amazing too, right?”

The other children in the orphanage treated Gu Yang as a little teacher. They respected and loved him, but Shen Ran treated her like a sister.

Gu Yang stretched out her fair and tender fingers, her face stiff. “Give it to me.”

Shen Ran smiled and placed the phone in her hand. “Here, it’s for you.”

Gu Yang didn’t expect him to give it to her just like that. “Then I’ll take it away and not return it to you.”

Shen Ran smiled and said, “Take it if you like it. I still have my father’s inheritance. I can buy many more.”

Shen Ran and Shen Qin were the wealthiest children in the orphanage, having inherited money from their parents.

The Shen couple had been in business. While their family wasn’t rich, they were considered well-off. After their passing, the funds in their accounts became the inheritance for Shen Ran and his sister.

Currently, their inheritance was under the care of Director Liang. They could withdraw money when needed, and any remaining funds would be returned to them upon leaving the orphanage.

Gu Yang smiled at Shen Ran. “Keeping your phone won’t help, right? So, copy these two ancient poems ten times each.”

Shen Ran groaned, knowing that copying books was his least favorite punishment. He immediately cried out, pretending his hand hurt.

His acting was terrible.

Gu Yang wasn’t fooled. She handed Shen Ran’s phone to Shen Qin and said, “Shen Qin, supervise him.”

Shen Qin smiled and replied, “Don’t worry, Yangyang.”

Turning back to Shen Ran, she added, “See? I told you playing games in class would lead to this. I guarantee you won’t be able to escape the consequences.”

Although Shen Ran was a rebel, Feng Jue, Gu Jin, Cao Cuo, and Gu Ying were all very obedient, which left Gu Yang feeling quite gratified.

However, a few days later, the teacher at the orphanage informed her that Shen Ran had skipped class again, along with a few others.@@novelbin@@

Gu Yang found this group of truant kids lounging under the big tree in the orphanage. To her surprise, Feng Jue, Gu Jin, Cao Cuo, and Gu Ying were all watching Shen Ran play games.

Her only thought at that moment was that Shen Ran had ruined a pot of porridge.

Not only were they watching, but they were also taking turns playing. Shen Ran sat on a large rock in the middle, looking smug as he declared, “Right? This game is fun!”
