Book 2: Chapter 273: The night after the sunset (3)
<The night after the sunset (3)>
“Ha! You must want to die real bad!”
The moment the knight sneered and swung his sword again…
The old man spoke to the future tribe leader.
“Hurry up, find a way through!”
It was at that moment.
‘Huh?’
A shadow appeared above his head.
This shadow appeared before the sun completely set.
He raised his head.‘A bird-’
He could see a bird.
No, it was not just one.
An endless number of crows were flying toward them with the sunset on their backs.
Chhhhhhh-
He also suddenly heard the sound of water.
Baaaaaaaaaang—–
Then there was an explosion.
The old man turned his head toward the explosion that was almost as intense as the explosions from the fighting Dragons and managed to see a falling castle wall.
There was a woman standing on top of the wall.
“……!”
The old man realized it as soon as he saw her.
The woman with the water wrapped around her…
"A Whale-!”
A Whale, a race of Beast people they had believed to be extinct, had appeared.
However, the old man couldn't focus on the woman.
The broken castle walls…
He noticed individuals walking over the debris of the wall.
These individuals, who were wearing clothes with baggy sleeves which were different from the typical clothes of this world, all looked relaxed.
However, the old man’s pupils started shaking the moment he saw their sizes and shapes.
"T, Tigers-!”
He was sure that they were Tigers.
Not only that, they were Tigers who had properly completed their berserk transformations.
“How, no, they, no-”
The old man could not speak properly.
They were so huge that they were clearly beyond the normal sizes of humans. Then there was the fur covering their whole body as well as their sharp nails on their hands and feet. They were all signs of a properly berserk Tiger that he had seen when he was young.
“You bastards, ugh!”
One of the knights who were heading toward them was easily caught by a Tiger’s hand.
“…….”
The Tiger stared at the knight before smashing down.
Baaaaang!
He smashed the knight into the wall.
The knight’s armor became crushed and his hands and feet twisted.
However, the Tiger gently brushed off his hands and looked up.
“Can we fight?”
It was at that moment.
Piiiiiiiiii-
He heard the sound of a flute.
The crows broke off into groups.
The old man then noticed people standing on top of the crows.
There were humans, Elves, and Dwarves.
In addition-
“That sir-”
A Tiger was blowing a flute.
“Ah-”
The old man barely managed to shout in shock.
"The Tigers have returned!”
Gashan opened his mouth.
“Let’s go.”
The Tiger tribe warriors started moving at his command.
As usual, there were not many of them.
However, just as they had done in the Gorge of Death, they were not a group to look down on because of their low number.
The existences of this world, who did not use aura or magic, were too weak to stop these enraged Tigers.
“Ah.”
The other Beast people who had been watching could only gasp in admiration.
No matter what, the fact that their fellow Beast people, ones who have properly gone berserk at that, had appeared was filling them up with strength.
Of them, by the group of Wolves…
Wolves formed the largest group of predatory Beast people within Ryan’s castle.
They had also been trying to use the situation to escape when their leader, Ansen, noticed the people on the crows falling to the ground.
Bang!
Baaaaang!
Bang!
The people made loud noises as they gently landed on the ground.
One of those people who had fallen in front of the Wolves walked over to them.
“H, hello?”
It was a feeble young man.
Ansen was about to say something after realizing that this young man was a Wolf when he flinched.
"We are pressed for time right now so I will explain in detail later, sir.”
The young man said that and then turned away from them.
“Ah.”
Ansen couldn’t help but gasp.
The young man’s back slowly became bigger.
The feeble and intimidated looking young man disappeared.
“Is it possible-”
However, the young man, Lock, could not hear Ansen’s voice.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
He focused on the beating of his heart.
Anger, a sense of responsibility, a desire to fight, the determination to change everything…
His heart started beating more and more intensely as if to respond to all of that.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
Lock's physique easily surpassed even the Tiger tribe warriors who were fully berserk.
The dull grey hair of the young man who looked like a boy got rid of its smudges as it started glowing silver.
Silver fur covered his whole body.
The silver fur then started gently releasing blue light.
The silver fur grew as if it was a star in the night sky that arrives after the sunset.
The blue light resembled the blue you see as night ends and dawn arrives.
His clear eyes were as clear as the sky that contained the sun.
Tribe leader Ansen's eyes were shaking while looking at Lock.
He couldn't even think about asking this young man how he was able to properly go berserk.
“…B, Blue Wolf-”
He subconsciously mumbled the name of the god he worshipped.
He could not help it.
Lock was the largest of the berserk Beast people here and his existence was sparkling.
Blue Wolf.
An existence that was exactly that had appeared, making it impossible for Ansen not to mumble that name.
Lock looked somewhere with his clear eyes.
He looked toward where Cale should be for a moment before closing his eyes.
‘Lock. You help out with getting the Beast people to run away.’
Lock remembered Cale’s orders as he opened his eyes.
He uncurled his body and stood up.
‘I need to pay for the meal; I need to do my part.’
He turned around and spoke to Ansen.
“Our allies will soon arrive to lead the way. Please follow them.”
‘Allies?’
As Ansen flinched at those words during the chaos…
“I guess I can fight properly now too?”
The White Snake let out a gentle chuckle before no longer only defending.
She raised her tail.
Baaaaang!
There was a loud explosion as the tail struck toward the knights and shook the ground.
Shhhhhhh—
The White Snake opened her mouth.
Green smoke started rising around her mouth.
“It’s poison!”
The White Snake started spewing poison and her green eyes looked vicious.
Ansen and the other Beast people were able to tell who the other allies were.
The ground shook and holes started appearing on the ground.
Beast people who were younger than the White Snake but still old enough to be able to go berserk properly…
Most of them were not predatory Beasts, but the fact that they managed to survive so long represented that they were strong in many ways.
They had all gathered after hearing the White Snake’s call to arms.
"Squeak, squeak!”
A small Rat appeared with a Mole.
“This way!”
Sparrows and Hummingbirds that had been within the group of Gashan’s crows slowly descended to the ground and spoke to the Beast people.
“We will lead the way!”
“Follow me!”
During the past week…
They had used the tunnels of the secret base to create over a dozen paths out of the desert.
They also created ways out above ground as well.
The old Beast people were not the only ones they had available to guard these Beast people.
“The desert is our forte.”
Tasha was leading a group to push back the knights stationed outside the castle.
Archie and Witira were naturally with her.
Baaaaaang!
Her water whip would either crack or sometimes even destroy castle walls with a single hit.
The castle breaking would create more ways for them to escape.
The group helping the Beast people escape also helped the residents who were in chaotic states.
Gashan used his crows to endlessly deliver Cale’s orders.
“Make them all move away from the stage.”
Whether they were Beast people or humans…
Get everybody not related to this fight far away from Ryan.
We cannot increase the number of sacrifices.
Cale had told Gashan another way to destroy a chain binding this castle in addition to the castle wall.
He gave his allies an order.
"Say his name.”
It was a simple order so everybody understood.
“Kahaha!”
Archie laughed out loud before entering the castle.
He took one step into the castle and then shouted.
“Ryan!”
The moment he said the forbidden name…
Beeeeeeep-
The magic surrounding the castle activated.
It was a spell that would activate immediately when someone dared to say Ryan's name.
“!”
Ryan's eyes opened wide as he fought against Eruhaben.
Archie didn't care and continued to laugh as he shouted.
"Ryan, Ryan, Ryan!”
Archie's tone made it sound as if he was swearing despite just saying Ryan's name. He continued without stopping.
Beeeeep-
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep-
Beeeeeeep-
The magic alarm rang nonstop.
However, the magic alarm was not only going off around Archie.
“Ryan!”
“Keke, Ryan!”
"Alright, here you go! Ryan!”
Gashan, his Tigers, the Beast people who came to help the White Snake, and even Cale’s people… Everybody called out Ryan's name.
“Ryan!”
“Ryan!”
Even the crows that had taken over the sky flew around calling Ryan's name nonstop.
Beeeeeeep-
The alarms screeched in response.
As the alarms filled the area to the point that their hearing was starting to go dull…
Bee, bee-
The alarm started to change as if the magic circle device was being overloaded.
The magic circle was created without thinking that there would ever be a time when Ryan’s name would be said dozens, no, hundreds of times at once.
Who would dare, unless they were treachers, would dare to say his great and holy name? That was why the magic circle was set to be so sensitive that they could determine who inside the castle had said the name, but they did not set it to handle numerous incidents at once.
Furthermore, this magic circle was connected not just to Ryan’s name but also the use of magic inside the castle.
If one of the two broke, both of them would break.
They had learned this information through Letao.
Beeep- beep- beep-
The more the alarm turned weird…
“Kekeke!”
Archie laughed like a lunatic and continued to shout.
“Ryan~ Ryan~ Ryan~”
He ran around the castle as he shouted.
“That, that-”
The old mage was astonished.
As someone who could handle mana, he could see it.
The mana released by the magic circle dizzily mixed together before going chaotic.
The device, which had been tuned so sensitively to react to even the quietest whispers of Ryan’s name so that they would not miss anybody trying to go against him, was clearly starting to get overloaded.
Raon and Eruhaben…
The Dragons had not been able to use magic inside the castle walls because they were worried about the detection spells noticing them, but it was easy for them to rip apart the weakness of the magic circle they learned from the Wind Elemental of the Elf Knight. Especially once they added the information from Letao as well.
Beeep- beep- beep-
The alarm turned even weirder.
“Kahahaha! Ryan~ Ryan~ Ryan~!”
“Someone catch that crazy Whale bastard!”
The old mage shouted but Archie did not submit. No, the Tiger warriors joined in as well.
Nobody stopped.
The crows cawed loudly as well.
“No!”
And finally…
Bee, biiiiiii-
The magic circle went nuts.
Now, even if they called Ryan’s name in the castle or used magic…
The enemies would not be able to notice.
* * *
Raon started to move at that moment.
Click.
Cale watched Raon use magic to open the lock before pushing the door open and entering.
“Human! Are we looting this Dragon’s house before we loot the Dragon Lord’s house?”
Dragon Ryan…
Cale entered into his bedroom.
He looked out the window.
He could see the chaos in the plaza.
“I like it.”
Ryan’s bedroom…
This was a great spot for him to enter the foray depending on the situation.
“Meeeeeow!”
“Meeow!”
Cale and the children averaging ten-years-old took over Ryan's room on the top floor.
