Chapter 525 - 573: Pan Hu’s Rage
Chapter 525: Chapter 573: Pan Hu’s Rage
Chapter Five Hundred Seventy-Three
Pan Hu woke up.
Shaking his head, his mind was still in a haze. He sat up and looked around the cave, feeling puzzled. Could it be he was not dead yet?
He remembered that he seemed to have been drained of all his essence blood by the Xue Ling Sect. Was this the Underworld?
As he looked up, he saw two members of the Xue Ling Sect sitting nearby and immediately jumped to his feet in shock.
People from the Xue Ling Sect were right here—could it be that he had been captured? He cautiously backed away. Although he was awake now, his body was still severely weakened. He tried to summon his Life-bound Gu Worm but discovered it was gone. This meant he might be even less capable than an ordinary person right now, powerless to fight against the members of the Xue Ling Sect.
...
Strangely, he noticed that the two members of the Xue Ling Sect seemed indifferent to him and had not moved from their spot.
Pan Hu was completely baffled.
Suddenly, he heard some noise behind him. He quickly turned around, his eyes widening in astonishment.
Hua Die was actually kneeling beside a creature that resembled an orc.
Pan Hu’s mind went blank, and a wave of nameless rage surged inside him.
He yelled, “What are you trying to do, release the Saintess immediately!”
If possible, he would have attacked at once, but currently, he was without even a single Gu insect and could only charge at Long Xiaoshan with his fists flailing rapidly.
Hua Die was caught off guard by Pan Hu’s voice and shuddered all over.
Turning her head and seeing Pan Hu stumbling forward, she exclaimed joyfully, “Pan Hu, you’re awake?”
Pan Hu charged to Long Xiaoshan’s side and swung a punch at Long Xiaoshan’s head. Despite lacking Gu Insects, his strength was still considerable, his fist cutting through the air with force.
Hua Die hurriedly intercepted him, asking, “Pan Hu, what are you doing?”
Pan Hu did not expect Hua Die to be the one stopping him and quickly said, “Saintess, why are you stopping me? I need to kill this scoundrel who has defiled you.”
“Pan Hu, you mustn’t lay a hand on him; he is my master,” Hua Die rapidly explained. “He can do whatever he wants to me.”
“What?” Pan Hu doubted if there was a problem with his hearing. He raised his voice, “Saintess, have you been drugged? You are the Saintess of the Bai Witch Sect, how could you possibly have a master? That’s absolutely impossible. You must have been bewitched by this man. I must kill him.”
Hua Die shook her head, a bitter smile on her face, “Pan Hu, I’m not lying to you, nor have I been drugged. It’s like this… weren’t we attacked by members of the Xue Ling Sect yesterday? You were drained of your essence blood by them, and I was seriously injured. At that moment, the Wolf Slayer Master showed up and saved me. You were on the brink of death, so I promised the Wolf Slayer Master that if he could save your life, I would accept him as my master…”
Hua Die quickly explained the events that had transpired.
After listening, Pan Hu’s face was filled with self-reproach. Had it not been to save him, Hua Die would never have agreed to accept this ugly barbarian as her master.
Thinking this, Pan Hu’s anger did not subside; if anything, his eyes turned even redder. He stared intently at Long Xiaoshan, “You despicable villain, daring to use my life to blackmail the Saintess. I would rather die than let you succeed. Saintess, run away! I’ll hold him off. Even if it costs me my life, I won’t let him defile you.”
Pan Hu’s face was filled with righteous determination, ready to die for the Saintess.
But Hua Die did not move an inch.
Pan Hu urged anxiously, “Saintess, run now!”
Hua Die said, “Pan Hu, don’t be like this. I have already taken a Gu oath, and with my life-bound Gu worm, I’ve absorbed a strand of his vital blood. I cannot break my vow, and you know the consequences.”
“What!” Pan Hu felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He was a Gu Master and, of course, understood the implications of Hua Die’s words.
By doing this, Hua Die had left herself no room to turn back.
The Gu oaths of the Miao Frontier are very effective; breaking one results in certain death. However, Hua Die was the Saintess of the Bai Witch Sect, and Pan Hu’s feelings for Hua Die were not ordinary. The two of them grew up together like childhood sweethearts. Later, when Hua Die became the Saintess, Pan Hu joined the Bai Witch Sect and became a guardian knight tasked with her protection.
Now the Saintess had actually become someone else’s handmaiden.
For the entire Bai Witch Sect and countless people from the Miao villages, this was intolerable.
Pan Hu glared at Long Xiaoshan with murderous eyes, “Do you know the consequences of what you’ve done? You’re as good as dead for daring to make the Saintess acknowledge you as her master. You’re challenging our entire Bai Witch Sect, and we will certainly kill you.”
Hua Die said, “Pan Hu, no, I definitely can’t be the Saintess now. After we leave Death God Valley, just think of me as dead. Please, don’t tell my master about this, okay?”
“Saintess, there’s a way out. As long as we kill him, your oath will naturally be lifted, and we can leave this place immediately,” Pan Hu said hurriedly, reaching out to pull Hua Die.
Hua Die dodged his hand, “Pan Hu, he saved my life, and he also saved yours. Do you really want me to repay kindness with enmity?”
Pan Hu was about to speak when suddenly he felt a pain in his neck, followed by a drastic change in his complexion. He knew all too well that a Gu insect had burrowed into his body.
Lan Wan’er sneered, “What, has my master saved an ingrate? You’ve been screaming for violence since you awoke. Better allow my precious to devour your innards and spare us your betrayal and bite.”
Suddenly, Pan Hu felt an excruciating pain in his chest and screamed, writhing on the ground.
Hua Die quickly said, “Stop it, don’t kill him, don’t kill him. Let me talk to him, Master, I’m begging you.”
Long Xiaoshan frowned. Although he wasn’t a bloodthirsty person, Pan Hu had made it very clear he wanted to kill him and would also inform the Bai Witch Sect to come after him. It was too big a risk to keep such a threat alive.
“Master, please agree, I beg you. I can definitely persuade Pan Hu,” Hua Die pleaded on her knees.
“Alright, Hua Die, you’d better make him understand,” he conceded.
Long Xiaoshan gave Lan Wan’er a look, and she raised her hand, causing a Gu insect to fly out of Pan Hu’s body.
Pan Hu stopped struggling, and Hua Die quickly pulled him to a distance. The two conversed in a combination of gestures and words for quite some time, Pan Hu initially being quite agitated, but eventually hanging his head low.
The two returned, with Pan Hu sullen and trailing behind.
Hua Die approached Long Xiaoshan and said, “Master, I’ve talked it through with him. He’s willing to swear that he won’t tell anyone from the Bai Witch Sect once we’re out.”
Long Xiaoshan looked at Pan Hu, who gritted his teeth and said, “You’d better not bully Hua Die. If you force her to do anything against her will, I would rather suffer the backlash of the oath and have the Bai Witch Sect people kill you.”
“You can be at ease about that. If Hua Die follows me, I will naturally not let her suffer. I can take an oath on that,” Long Xiaoshan said.
After Pan Hu made his vow, he cast one more reluctant glance at Hua Die before walking away.
“Master, thank you,” Hua Die said softly, looking at Long Xiaoshan.
Although Long Xiaoshan seemed like a barbarian, he didn’t act like one at all; he didn’t kill Pan Hu and even vowed to treat her well…
What do you think?
