Chapter 835 - Defeated
Chapter 835 - Defeated
“Cough, cough.”
The sound broke the silence.
The first demon general stood, head lowered, his pale complexion reflecting his desolation. The fight had shattered his pride.
“Today, I will resign as demon general and leave the demon sect,” said Tu Shan in a low voice, sounding sorrowful.
The princess stepped forward, her gaze fixed on him.
“Tu Shan, have the people of the demon sect still not learned to accept victory and defeat? The Myriad Demon Islands are vast—there will always be those stronger than you. Don’t limit your vision. This battle isn’t a loss for you. I spoke to Father beforehand; the loser just has to forfeit their position as demon general. Why not join the royal court guard? Bring your elites and help me defend the princess’ residence. How about it?”
Tu Shan looked up at the princess. He didn’t show excitement—only deep desolation.
Defend the princess’ residence?
If he agreed, their relationship would truly become that of master and servant. Though their proximity might grow, what qualifications would he have to court the princess?
Looking into her eyes, Tu Shan said, “Since Your Highness has spoken, I accept.”
An unusual look flashed in her eyes. Turning to Chen Fan with a smile, she said, “Chen Fan, from now on, you are the first demon general.”
Chen Fan looked at the princess with a smile. He felt the princess glaring at him with a hidden bitterness and couldn’t help but secretly curse that this demonic lady was truly impressive.
Yan Shuiyi bowed and greeted Chen Fan, “Greetings to the First Demon General.”
The other demon generals exchanged glances before bowing in unison. “Greetings to the First Demon General.”
“Greetings to the First Demon General.” The legions echoed, their voices shaking the demon sect.
Chen Fan’s gaze swept over them, his eyes briefly flickering with amusement.
This was strength.
In the demon sect, power commanded respect—only with overwhelming might could he make them submit.
He understood that he had truly ascended to a high position within the Xuan Ting Demon Sect. With this status, his plans would become much easier to execute. @@novelbin@@
“At ease, everyone. In the future, I ask that you all work hard together with me to make the demon sect even stronger.” Chen Fan said calmly.
The princess rolled her eyes at Chen Fan. Hypocrite.
“Since things have settled, Tu Shan, bring your men and come with me,” said the princess.
Tu Shan shot Chen Fan a deep look, then departed with his subordinates, trailing behind the princess.
Chen Fan looked at the princess’ back and said politely, “I’ll see Your Highness off respectfully.”
“Hmph.” A cold snort rang in Chen Fan’s mind. That was purposely transmitted to him alone. Such a voice transmission seemed a little odd.
......
Chen Fan becoming the first demon general shook the entire Xuan Ting Demon Sect.
Tu Shan had held the position for over a decade, untouchable—until now.
After that, the demon generals’ ranking underwent a collective change. Jin Xingzi was still the second demon general, but the fourth demon general was promoted to the third demon general.
The vacancies left by Yan Shuiyi and the others were filled soon, but the lineup of the twenty-eight demon generals was forever altered.
“How truly unexpected. The position of the first demon general hadn’t changed in over ten years, yet Chen Fan overturned it so quickly. Times really are changing.”
“Who would’ve thought even Tu Shan couldn’t match Chen Fan? This is too frightening. Chen Fan is only at the eighth-level Heavenly Star realm—his strength is unreal.”
“Right, right, Tu Shan was just a step away from the first-level Manifestation realm. He was already as strong as a Manifestation realm expert but still lost against Chen Fan.”
As the sect buzzed with discussions, Chen Fan moved into the first demon general’s residence and issued his first command: locate Mu Tianfang. The order was no secret; he didn’t care if it sparked rumors.
He had already seen through the fact that in the Xuan Ting Demon Sect, only strength mattered. Everything else was pure vanity.
Even with all twenty-eight demon generals working on it, finding someone on the Myriad Demon Islands was still like finding a needle in a haystack.
“Is there still no news?” Chen Fan asked Yan Shuiyi, “Yan Shuiyi, do you know where the people from the Tianwu Continent are sent after arriving on the islands?”
“I’ve never left this island, so I have no way of knowing that. I’m afraid only the demon king and demon lords would know something about this. Perhaps you can go consult the princess,” said Yan Shuiyi.
Chen Fan considered this. Now that he was the First Demon General and the princess seemed intrigued by him, a visit would likely be well received.
“Hmm
, looks like that’s my best option.” Chen Fan nodded.Soon, he headed toward the central demon palace.
As the first demon general, he was granted entry without issue.
However, aside from the princess, he also saw Tu Shan outside the princess’ residence. The former first demon general shot him a sharp look before departing in silence.
“What brings the first demon general here?” Inside, the princess greeted Chen Fan with a noble, distant smile.
“I was intimate with Your Highness. It’s only right that I come to see you. What’s so strange about that?” Chen Fan said, smiling.
“You really are shameless. Do you really think I wouldn’t kill you?”
“If you wanted me dead, you wouldn’t have come to watch the battle in person,” Chen Fan said, shaking his head.
The princess snorted coldly and asked Chen Fan, facing him sideways, “Why exactly are you here?”
“I have something to consult Your Highness about.”
He shamelessly moved closer, standing just a step away.
“As Your Highness knows, I come from the Tianwu Continent. I need to know where someone would be sent after arriving on the Myriad Demon Islands?” Chen Fan asked.
“Hmph, so that’s why you’ve ordered the demon generals to search—for your personal matters. How bold of you to use the sect’s power like that!” The princess snorted coldly, looking incomparably imposing.
Chen Fan smiled and said, defusing the situation, “Why are you being so serious, Your Highness.”
The princess’ beautiful eyes focused on Chen Fan as she said, “Let me ask you this: if I help you find that person, will you stay in the sect?”
“I will leave the islands after I find him. I have no reason to remain here,” Chen Fan answered unreservedly.
“What if it’s for my sake?” Her tone softened, her gaze suddenly tender, looking at Chen Fan in anticipation. Those watery eyes shook Chen Fan’s resolve, and he couldn’t help but marvel at her charm.
“Your Highness means to say you’ve fallen in love with me?”
He stepped forward, boldly wrapping his arm around her waist, leaning in as though to kiss her.
“If you let me down, my father will definitely kill you,” said the princess.
Chen Fan froze, backing away instantly. Noticing the faint smile on her face, he sighed inwardly—he’d been outplayed again.
What do you think?
