Chapter 84: Chapter 81: Cherishing Each Other from Afar

“Moxiang?”

Rong Zhi smiled faintly, “Yes, Moxiang. I have trained him for two years, and initially planned to inform the Princess later. However, since he can be of use now, let’s put him to work.”

Chu Yu was taken aback and said, “Then, what about Huan Yuan…” Would Huan Yuan think of unnecessary things?

Rong Zhi shook his head leisurely and said, “Not me, so he won’t.” Most of the pressure and defeat Huan Yuan felt came from him. If it weren’t for him, Huan Yuan wouldn’t feel such intense suppression. Moreover, deploying Moxiang, who would serve under Huan Yuan with full obedience, would only lighten Huan Yuan’s burden, not cause him any difficulties.

This was where Rong Zhi and Moxiang differed. If it were Rong Zhi, even if he merely served as Huan Yuan’s deputy, in the end, intentionally or not, control would still end up in his hands. This was not only his nature but also the result of his talent and manipulation.

Choosing this moment to employ Moxiang was firstly to prepare Huan Yuan for what was to come with Liu Se and secondly, Moxiang could act as a mediator, bridging between Huan Yuan and Liu Se.@@novelbin@@

Whether it was flattery, guessing intentions, or deciding when to advance or retreat, after two years of training from Rong Zhi, Moxiang was far more adept than Liu Se in these aspects. He knew when to yield and was extremely tactful, ensuring Huan Yuan felt no displeasure. If Huan Yuan could accept one Moxiang, then accepting another Liu Se would not be difficult.

Moxiang was both the forerunner and the buffer.

So it was. Chu Yu nodded, “Let’s do as you suggest.”

The next day, Rong Zhi informed Chu Yu that the arrangements were completed. Now, two new names, Yu Zichu and Yu Ziyuan, created for Chu Yu and Huan Yuan’s aliases, had materialized in the world. Previously, these names had only been self-proclaimed, but after Rong Zhi’s intervention, they were officially registered, beyond reproach by anyone’s investigation.

Rong Zhi humbly stated that most of the credit belonged to Wang Yizhi. He had merely played the role of coordinator. Wang Yizhi managed all the negotiations with various organizations and even provided most of the funding.

Using Wang Yizhi to forge identities had another advantage, that no one would doubt their authenticity because the name Wang Yizhi itself was a sound guarantee.

Although Chu Yu was already aware of the Wang family’s immense wealth, the astonishing efficiency still surprised her. She specifically disguised herself and went with Rong Zhi to see the new residence, which was named Chu Garden.

The guards and servants in the mansion were of unknown origin but were quite capable, quick in action, and also very presentable, maintaining a respectable appearance inside and out. Presumably, Wang Yizhi had also played a part in this. Chu Yu recognized a few faces, deeply appreciative of Wang Yizhi’s assistance and remembering the invitation he had sent recently. She considered it for a moment, smiled, and prepared a return gift.

Wang Yizhi lacked for nothing, especially not money, so presenting precious items might seem inferior. Hence, to convey real gratitude, one must give something unprecedented in this world.

Son, it was the appointed day for Wang Yizhi’s invitation. Chu Yu hurried to make preparations. On the day, she boarded the carriage, which carried a heavy wooden box. This time, Chu Yu did not travel alone but took Liu Sang with her.

Taking Liu Sang was a spontaneous decision; Chu Yu needed someone to assist her and run errands occasionally, but for safety reasons, Yue Jiefei could not leave her side. Thus, she needed another person.

If the person she brought had too low a status, it wouldn’t be appropriate for them to appear at the gatherings of high-society gentlemen. If she brought along notable figures like Rong Zhi or Huan Yuanzhi, it would be an underutilization of their talents, so the younger Liu Sang was just right.

Huan Yuanzhi, having learned that Chu Yu intended to take him out again after many days of being forgotten, naturally hurried to nod in agreement, responding affirmatively to anything Chu Yu said, even hopping into and out of the carriage.

Chu Yu initially came from the Princess Mansion to Chu Garden and then set off from there. Chu Garden was quite close to Wang Yizhi’s residence, and they soon arrived. Handing over the carriage to the Wang family’s servants, Chu Yu and her two companions followed a young boy to meet Wang Yizhi, the host of the gathering.

Wang Yizhi was by the lake.

It was still early, around eight or nine in the morning. No other guests had arrived yet. A flat boat was moored by the lake, where Wang Yizhi lay, rocking gently with the water, eyes closed, savoring the mild morning breeze.

Seeing Wang Yizhi like this, Chu Yu couldn’t help feeling a twinge of envy. She approached, kicked the boat gently, and said with a smile, “Brother Yizhi is truly enjoying himself.”

The small boat, sensitively balanced at the lake’s edge, rocked slightly with her kick, giving the person lying on it the illusion the boat was about to overturn. The young boy watching widened his eyes, never expecting this seemingly delicate young master to greet their Family Head so impolitely.

The boy hesitated for a moment and wanted to intervene, but Yue Jiefei, ever diligent, stopped him. Meanwhile, Wang Yizhi, undisturbed by the rocking boat, slowly opened his eyes, his body swaying with the boat, “Brother Zichu, this is hardly the way to treat a guest.”

Though his words sounded reproachful, his eyes sparkled with a joyful, unrestrained smile, showing no sign of anger. Chu Yu smiled faintly and said, “If Brother Yizhi feels aggrieved, next time, you can kick back.”

Wang Yizhi slowly stood up. The small boat still swayed uncertainly, yet he stood as if perfectly stable, much to the slight disappointment of Chu Yu who had hoped to see him falter.

Wang Yizhi looked over Chu Yu’s shoulder and noticed Liu Sang, his expression showing mild surprise. He stepped onto the shore, not minding his robe trailing in the lake water, and said with a laugh, “I thought you might have brought that companion from a few days ago.”

The person Wang Yizhi referred to was naturally Rong Zhi.

Chu Yu didn’t understand why he was bringing up Rong Zhi at this moment. Her heart skipped a beat, but she kept her composure and said, “He is occupied with other important matters and could not come.”

“That’s truly a shame.” Wang Yizhi’s tone clearly conveyed his regret, not hiding his admiration for Rong Zhi, “I had thought that if he was not of much use under you, I might have him come to me instead, but it seems that’s not possible now.”

Chu Yu raised her eyebrows, showing her confusion.

Wang Yizhi earnestly said, “I mean this sincerely. If one day you no longer wish to keep him, please send him to me. Such talent could suffice even for a Prime Minister.” Knowing Chu Yu’s status, Wang Yizhi could more or less guess Rong Zhi’s status as well. He simply couldn’t understand how such a remarkably talented young man could content himself with being a mere concubine.

It wasn’t that he looked down on Chu Yu, but that the young man was too extraordinary, simply too much for a mere Princess Mansion to contain.

Chu Yu was left speechless, only able to offer a silly smile, her curiosity about their previous meeting burning inside her, regretting that she hadn’t witnessed it herself due to her laziness at the time.

What exactly had those two done to admire and praise each other so generously?
