Chapter 568 570 Biaoshan Village
Han Meng's house wasn't in Yunyan Town, but their mountain village was under the management of Yunyan Town.
There were still about ten more miles of mountain roads when, upon reaching the town center, Qin Hao saw several children aged seven or eight playing together.
The children, upon seeing the five luxury SUVs, showed curiosity in their innocent eyes as they watched the vehicles.
Apart from an old bus near the brink of scrapping, there were no other vehicles in the town, and many people were seeing cars for the first time.
Soon, many people came out to the streets to look at Qin Hao's convoy since the cars weren't moving fast through the town.
"What kind of car is this? It looks so impressive," a middle-aged man in his fifties asked curiously.
A young man nearby replied, "Uncle, this is a Mercedes. Only the wealthy in big cities can afford it, worth several millions."
The surrounding people gasped at these words. Several millions?
The uncle exclaimed, "This... This is too expensive, right? Are they made of gold?"
"Yeah, one car could buy our whole little town."
The young man curiously said, "Did some rich tycoon emerge from the Yunyan Mountain Area? Why would such nice cars come here?"
"It looks like they are heading to the mountain village, but it's unclear which village's people they are."
...
From Yunyan Town to Biaoshan Village, Qin Hao and his group had taken more than half an hour, mainly because the road was really tough; it was all rocky mountain roads, but thankfully they were in SUVs, otherwise, they would have had to walk to Biaoshan Village.
Biaoshan Village was where Feng Xiangyi's parents lived, and it wasn't until entering the village that Qin Hao realized how simple the mountain village was.
The houses here were all built from mountain stones, bearing the marks of wind and sun exposure.
The five vehicles parked alongside the road in the center of the village - Qin Hao got out of his car and looked around Biaoshan Village, which appeared to have electricity as he could sporadically see some electric poles.
The village had several hundred households, making it a significantly large mountain village, much better than those deep in the mountains and forests.
Places like those were inaccessible by car and required traveling on foot; Biaoshan Village was closer to Yunyang Town, which made its transportation considerably more convenient.
There weren't a few people in the village; seeing five cars parked in the village, it wasn't long before a crowd gathered around.
Because Leng Xuan and others were there, the crowd didn't dare to come too close.
Qin Hao asked Han Meng, "Meng, which one is your house?"
Han Meng, seeing many people coming over, blushed slightly and gently pointed to a house nearby, saying softly, "This one here."
Her heartbeat quickened slightly. If these people saw me and Xiao Hao together, would they think we are a couple?
"Then let's go." Qin Hao took down many things from the car, all of which he had purchased on the way.
Qiao'er held Qin Hao's hand, hopping and jumping happily, "I haven't seen Grandma and Grandpa for a long time."
The three headed towards the nearby house. The courtyard walls of this house weren't high, just about one and a half meters, built with large mountain stones as well.
Just as several cars had stopped here, the people in the courtyard had noticed. As Qin Hao and his group reached the entrance, a young man about twenty-one or twenty-two years old came out. His skin was dark and his eyes bright.
Seeing Han Meng and Qiao'er, the young man paused for a moment then a simple smile appeared on his face, "Sis, Qiao'er, you're back?"
Then he saw Qin Hao and the five luxurious SUVs parked by the road. "Who are you?" he asked.
Han Meng hurriedly said, "Xiao Zhuang, this is Xiao Hao. He's a benefactor of me and Qiao'er. Without him, you wouldn't have seen your sister and Qiao'er."
After speaking, she said to Qin Hao, "Xiao Hao, my younger brother is like this, please don't take it personally."
Qin Hao smiled slightly, "It's okay, Meng. Hi, I am Qin Hao."
"Umm, I am Han Zhuang." Han Zhuang was a bit unaccustomed to shaking hands, his rough hand full of calluses, and he quickly withdrew it after a brief handshake.
...
Qin Hao had a bitter smile on his face—outside, many people wished for a chance to shake his hand, yet this guy was simply disgusted by him.
"Sis, come in quickly; mom and dad have been talking about you," Han Zhuang hurriedly led them inside.
Leng Xuan and a bodyguard followed Qin Hao inside, while the remaining six bodyguards stood outside watching the car.
In the courtyard, an axe and some wood were laid out; Han Zhuang had apparently been chopping wood just earlier.
It was already winter, the weather here was cold, and firewood was needed daily for cooking and heating the kang.
Before they even reached the house, Han Zhuang called out, "Mom, dad, sister and Qiao'er are back."
His voice was loud, and Qin Hao felt a buzzing in his eardrums. How could this guy be so loud?
Soon, a couple came out from the stone house, their faces lighting up with smiles when they saw Han Meng and Qiao'er: "Meng, Qiao'er, you're back? Where did you go? We were so worried about you."
Han Meng's eyes became slightly red: "Mom, dad."
Han Zhiming, seeing Qin Hao, asked in confusion, "And who might this be?"
Han Meng introduced him: "Mom, dad, this is Qin Hao, he is our savior."
Qin Hao said with a smile, "Hello uncle, auntie."
Han Zhiming quickly replied, "Mr. Qin, please come in."
Once inside the stone house, Qin Hao placed the many items he had bought to one side, and Han Meng's mother, Qiu Yufang, said, "Mr. Qin, what did you buy all these things for? You're too polite."
Qin Hao smiled and said, "These were bought by Meng, and also a little something from me, it's not much money, auntie."
The home is modest, Mr. Qin, don't mind it and please have a seat anywhere," Qiu Yufang brought out a stool for Qin Hao.
She also gave stools to Leng Xuan and the other man, but they chose to stand behind Qin Hao instead.
Han Zhiming looked at his daughter and asked, "Xiao Meng, why did you leave without a word initially? You didn't even notify your mom and dad; do you know how worried we were?"
Han Meng spoke softly, "Mom, if I hadn't left, Jia An would have forced me to bear children for his family, saying it was to continue the family line."
Han Zhiming's expression stiffened, "Isn't his son dead? How could he continue the family line then?"
Han Meng's eyes reddened slightly, "He wanted me to bear children with his... with him."
Han Zhiming and Qiu Yufang's expressions turned grim, "That old man dared to commit such an inhuman act."
Han Zhuang suddenly stood up, "Damn it, I'll go and kill that old man."
Qiu Yufang's eyes widened, "Sit down right now; we're in a law-abiding society. If you kill him, you'd be arrested too."
Although they were furious, they were helpless against Jia An, especially since he was also the village chief of Langshan Village.
Han Zhiming continued, "Then what's the story with Mr. Qin and you?"
Han Meng shared the events that unfolded after she went to Jianghai City with her parents, and upon hearing them, tears swirled in their eyes.
Han Zhuang was seething with rage, breathing heavily, his hands clenched into fists.
Seeing them like this, Qin Hao spoke up, "Uncle, auntie, what's done is done, and the bad people have received their due punishment. Please don't be too sad or angry; it's not good for your health."
Han Zhuang said to Qin Hao, "My sister has always been good to me. Since you saved her, you're also my savior. Just say the word if you need anything in the future, and I guarantee I'll take care of it."
Qin Hao gave a slight smile. This guy was naively adorable—a true salt-of-the-earth kind of man, but such people are often the easiest to deceive in society. With bodyguards like clouds around him, Qin Hao hardly needed his help. However, he took the offered help in good spirit, "Alright, I'll definitely reach out if there's anything."
[First update]
What do you think?
