Chapter 478 System's Progress - Corruption 28/100
When Gorgita finally arrived in the meditation chamber, Kriz was waiting with Mei and the others. His usual dramatic flair was subdued by the seriousness of the moment.
"Two cores," Lila announced through her invocation before transferring back to her body.
Instead of consuming 1 sphere herself, Selene took one and Lila handed the other to Kriz. "We need to distribute the power base. The next crossing will get us more enhanced supporters."
Kriz accepted the sphere with uncharacteristic solemnity. "You sure about this? You could double your own..."
"We need a strong big team as foundation first," Lila cut him off. "The more of us sharing this power, the better our chances of getting more through next time."
They consumed the spheres simultaneously. Divine energy coursed through them both as their statistics increased and the corruption weight settled into their beings.
Hours later, Lucien called a meeting. The chamber was packed with familiar faces - Ren, Brok, Mei, Valeria, Aria, and the others who had become the core of their expansion efforts.
"The city's transformation has been remarkable," Lucien began. "With citizens gaining 2,700 extra mana points daily, the old resource constraints have virtually disappeared."
Ren nodded in agreement. "Oxygen production is no longer a concern. The new steel-layered structures protecting our seedling forests outside the city are growing bigger and stronger every day. People aren't just surviving anymore - they're building for the future."
"The steel dome prototypes have proven incredibly resilient," Aria added. "Each layer reinforces the ones around it, so people can wait safely even if we face another monster invasion."
Maps were displayed showing the city's expansion. Where once there had been desperate poverty, now new construction rose on all sides. The experimental forests that had been decimated were returning, protected by innovative steel structures designed to withstand even the fiercest attacks.
"People feel secure enough to build outside the walls now," Mei noted. "They've created whole networks of interconnected safe zones."
"And they're not just building defenses," Brok added. "The increased mana production means we can maintain multiple layers of protection while still expanding our resource generation. Even if we faced another barrier breach..."
"We'd be ready," Milo finished, his new divine enhancement making him unusually focused. "Those encapsulated zones could sustain people long enough for response teams to clear any threats."
Lucien spread out maps showing their territorial expansion. "We're not just surviving anymore - we're claiming. Each new area we secure gives us more space to grow."@@novelbin@@
"And with Elio continuing to send power..." Lila touched her chest where the divine sphere's energy had settled. "We're getting stronger every day."
"The poverty that plagued us before is virtually gone," Ren observed. "Even the families that once opposed us are contributing to the expansion efforts."
"Because they can see the results," Lucien gestured at more images showing the city's growth.
The meeting continued as they discussed expansion plans, training protocols, and resource distribution.
The old world of desperate survival was giving way to something new. Something stronger. Almost utopian.
They were no longer just a city holding out against the darkness. They were becoming an empire, ring by ring, day by day.
And they were just getting started.

After reaching level 28, Elio emerged from the challenge to find four visitors - Lila's Gorgita, Selene's reconstructed fish, Kriz's Mirror Coat, and Mei's falcon swift, all waiting in the divine chamber.
"Four this time!" Dionz announced cheerfully.
While equipping Mei and Kriz's invocations with divine gear to match what Lila and Selene already had, Elio laid out his plans.
"Here," he handed over four more divine spheres. "But instead of waiting for me here, you should focus on building the second ring tunnels. I'll need about three days for level 29, and there's no point in..."
"The tunnels are already finished," Mei interrupted through her enhanced swift form.
Elio paused mid-sentence. "What?"
"With the mana increases you've been sending," Selene explained, her fish form gleaming with the divine equipment, "we had more than enough mana to mobilize all the old construction teams. The tunnel's been complete for days."
"We were actually waiting for your instructions about the deposits but Lila kept forgetting and Selene was the same," Kriz added, Mirror Coat shimmering. "The construction was the easy part with this much mana available."
Elio took a moment to process this. He'd been so focused on his own progression that he hadn't fully grasped how much their capabilities in the city had grown with the constant mana increases.
"The deposits..." he began carefully. "There's an artromus guarding them. It won't be like the insect swarms in the rings."
"We know," Lila responded through Gorgita. "But with four of us enhanced by divine spheres, plus all the power you've been sending... we think we can take one."
Dionz, who had been unusually quiet, finally spoke up. "You know... I have a feeling it might be easier than expected. Just a hunch, mind you, but sometimes these things work out surprisingly well!"
Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire
"What do you mean?" Elio asked suspiciously.
"Oh, nothing specific!" The god waved dismissively. "Just that with so much mana they can use potions more freely to finish the fight before it starts..."
"You think we could take one of the deposits in a day?" Selene asked, her tactical mind already working.
"I think," Dionz smiled mysteriously, "that this might be the perfect time to try. Though officially, I never suggested anything of the sort!"
Elio studied his four visitors, all enhanced with divine equipment and spheres. Their power had grown tremendously, and with the tunnel already complete...
"Alright," he decided. "Try for one deposit. But be careful - even if the artromus is alone, it's still dangerous. Don't take unnecessary risks."
"We've been practicing," Kriz said proudly.
"Just remember," Elio cautioned, "these aren't like the ring monsters. This is a real fight."
"We know," Lila assured him. "But we're not the same either. Everything you've sent back has made us stronger. We're ready for this."
Dionz created a viewing window showing the city's current state. "They really are quite impressive now. All that mana you've been sending has done more than just increase their power - it's given them real military capability."
What do you think?
