Utopian System

Chapter 493 493: System's Third Ring - 2

"The king is next," Selene announced calmly, already moving into the portal.

The artromus king emerged with all the confidence of a level 30 behemoth. Its form suggested power that would have once seemed overwhelming.

Ten warriors moved in perfect coordination, their dual invocations helping create a transparent silicon sphere around the central space.

Inside this perfectly contained space, Lila and Selene executed their practiced combination. Lila released a devastating oxygen-hydrogen reaction. The explosion would have been impressive on its own, but contained within the silicon sphere, its power had nowhere to disperse.

Selene's contribution transformed devastating power into absolute destruction. Her control over acids enhanced the reaction while her impulse control ensured no energy was wasted. Where the explosion might have left gaps, her careful manipulation ensured complete coverage.

The silicon sphere reformed instantly, eight warriors maintaining perfect positions while their invocations helped reinforced the containment barrier. Inside this controlled space, Lila and Selene repeated their devastating combination.

The king, despite its impressive power, found itself caught in a reaction that left no room for escape or resistance.

It was over in seconds.

It was overkill.

It was a simple practice.

The king's form dissolved like its guardians had moments ago, leaving no trace of resistance against this overwhelming display of coordinated power.

"Corruption changes everything," Valeria noted as they lowered the silicon barrier. "A level 30 king doesn't mean much against this kind of enhancement."

"It's not just the corruption," Selene corrected. "It's how we've learned to use it together. The containment sphere, the combined reactions… They'll have no escape."

"The practice paid off," Lila agreed, her invocations returning to their guard positions. "Though I almost feel bad for them, they'll never have a chance to show their capabilities."

The chamber secured, they began their standard victory procedures. The deposit's power would flow into their control, expanding their territory and resources once the small core was added to the central statue.

Four level 3 daily challenges awaited them now, along with all the other rewards of their conquest.

The tremors began as familiar beams of light converged above the city.

Lucien positioned the hundred support warriors in their practiced formation while the core team took their positions around the manifestation point.

"Remember," Selene called out as the light sphere grew, "maintain the containment pattern no matter what. Let no artromus escape the zone."

The support warriors created overlapping barriers, their level 20 power focused entirely on containment rather than combat. Lucien directed their positioning with practiced efficiency, ensuring complete coverage of the target area.

The sphere of light reached its critical point. Thirty level 30 artromus would emerge, but this time, a better trap awaited them.

"Now!" Selene commanded.

Eight of the ten corrupted warriors snapped into position instantly. They amplified the silicon barrier, while other invocations reinforced its structural integrity. The transparent sphere enclosed the exact space where the artromus would materialize.

Inside this perfectly contained area, Lila and Selene would activate their practiced combination. The moment the first artromus began to manifest, they struck.

The explosion was devastating. Oxygen and hydrogen erupted under perfect control, while precisely placed acids enhanced the destructive power. Twenty-five artromus were caught completely off guard, their forms dissolving before they could even begin their transformation sequences.

But five managed to initiate their corrupted forms. Their level 30 power surged as they tried to survive the onslaught, their partially transformed states offering some protection against the initial blast.

"Second wave," Selene called calmly.

The silicon sphere maintained its integrity as Lila unleashed another explosion. The contained space amplified the destructive force, while Selene's acids found every gap in the artromus' defenses.

Three of the transformed artromus fell, their enhanced states providing no real protection against such concentrated power. The remaining two, now fully transformed, attempted to breach the barrier.

"They're testing the eastern quadrant," Lucien reported, but the support warriors were already reinforcing that section. The containment held perfectly, giving the survivors nowhere to escape.

"Final strike," Selene announced.

Lila's third explosion filled every corner of the contained space. The last two artromus, despite their impressive transformed states, found themselves caught in a reaction that left no room for survival. Their level 30 power, their 600,000 points of resistance meant nothing against this perfectly executed combination.

The battle lasted less than 10 seconds.

If it could even be called a battle.

"Let the residual energy clear first then get the cores," Lucien commanded. The support warriors adjusted their barriers, helping disperse the aftermath of the explosive combination safely away from the city.

"Thirty level 30 artromus," Kriz whistled appreciatively. "All that practice for less than 5 seconds of actual combat."

"The practice is what made it so quick," Mei reminded him. "That formation wouldn't have worked half as well without all those rehearsals."

They had indeed prepared thoroughly. Every position, every movement had been refined through countless drills. The support warriors had practiced maintaining their containment barriers under various pressures. The silicon sphere had been tested against different types of stress.

"The transformed ones lasted longer," Brok noted, "but not by much."

"They never had a chance to use their enhanced capabilities," Selene analyzed. "The contained space meant their power had nowhere to go except back at them."

The support warriors began their ordered withdrawal, their role completed perfectly. Not a single artromus had even approached their containment lines, the battle had been won entirely within the silicon sphere.

"We should inform Elio," Lila suggested. "He'll want to know the formation worked as planned."

They had indeed proven their strategy sound. Thirty level 30 artromus had fallen not to desperate combat, but to perfectly executed tactics. The combination of precise containment, overwhelming power, and carefully practiced coordination had transformed what should have been a challenging battle into a decisive victory.

"The city grows stronger," Lucien observed as they descended. "Each victory brings new possibilities, new resources to develop."

He was right. With this threat eliminated, they could focus on expanding their territory, enhancing their training programs, pushing the boundaries of what they could achieve.

The age of desperate battles was truly over. In its place had come an era of coordinated power, where victory was assured through preparation and precision rather than chance and raw strength.

They had evolved beyond their early limitations, becoming something their enemies weren't prepared to face. And with each victory, that evolution would only continue.
